There's nothing wrong with traditional arrangements, and there are plenty available elsewhere on RUclips for you to enjoy. That seems a happier option for you, instead of expending your energy grousing about other people's musical choices.

I’m 75% sure if your director saw you said something like this about another choir you would get kicked out (at least in my choir you would be) lmao. Also this is a 4-6 part song depending on what version they did. I think they’re doing amazing and you need to keep your little opinion to yourself.
