Advocates and law enforcement agencies report many victims of cold cases are minorities.
According to the Houston Police Department, this is true for cold cases their agency owns.

This woman - this Mother- is so amazing and strong. Her fight for Justice for her son has been never wavered . This pos who took her son gave her an ineffable burden. Murder changes the lives of everyone connected to the victim. Forever. Period. They should be punished for all of that. This Mother has carried the burden of pain for all this time. God Bless her and her family. Praying for true and full justice for this horrid loss and the destruction delivered upon this Mother ❤
More of this please! We need to talk about and try to help solve these cases that are POC that never got the publicity they deserved or the previous investors didnt care enough to put a lot of work in.

When defunding police and failure to prosecute violent crimes have become standard in communities where these actions have historically shown issues ranging from delayed response to outright negligence, then blaming the same failed communities for a "failure to assist" is the reason the system isn't working is ludicrous to begin with.
When facts about the history of overall negligence are obscured and blamed on the victims, the cycle simply continues. When all are treated with dignity and respect and the law is obeyed without prejudice, the problems can begin to be resolved. Victim blaming undermines the real issues at hand.
Who’s failing to prosecute violent crimes in a community? Don’t know the premise of defund the police?

The culture needs to change within the communities. When crimes are committed in marginalized communities; people do not speak. The media is definitely reporting on these cases; but they quickly fade because no one will speak. People will not speak to media and they definitely won’t speak to police.
When the media does have information on possible suspects; they only report on the clothing being worn. They will not for some reason report an accurate description. Again, the culture needs to change. “If you see something, say something”! If you have knowledge of what happened; speak up!
I live in a major city. We have cameras everywhere. For some reason if the criminal is white; the media will release all and any videos or witness statements. When the potential criminal is POC they only release clothing information. They will not release the video when we all know video exists everywhere! Businesses in the city have 24/7 live video feeds into the police station and they have video of everything! But won’t be released. Change the culture and things in the community will change for the better!

And that Poem just brings back memories from my childhood especially when she started talking about her son being found in a ditch I remember my uncle who help raised me who is really my mother's uncle who is one of my grandfather's brother telling me a story and showing me a picture about his brother Freddy being found killed in a ditch I also remember him telling me he thinks it was the police.... I Remember when he showed me the picture it was supposedly of him being in the ditch I saw the ditch but I did not see him but now that I think back on it I was too young to figure out that there was a person in the ditch that was basically stumped and mercifully beaten.... such a sad story on both ends All I have to say is don't Feed into it don't challenge them just let them have that and let them say what they feel like they have to say I was born and raised in Houston Things are different now But don't get it twisted....
This was kinda hard to watch with no actual story of what happened attached.
So glad that someone is pulling these cases out of the freezer. Let's get them solved! The families deserve justice and truth. ANNETTE deserves justice.
