When he talked about "some people want me dead" he's likely referencing to when he was wrongfully accused of having harmed a fan of his, pretty sure he's talking about either extreme feminists threats who jumped the gun on him and/or his former label that ditched him in like a day or two after he was accused.
And yeah, there will always be generational conflicts honestly, to be fair and especially around the time that verse was dropped there was still numerous issues that were fresh about rappers who had done shady "rap politics" stuff and, aka like Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, Tablo of Epik High, Jinusean, etc. It's old news but yeah, kind of stuff that makes a mess of things.

True. Back in 2016, Don Malik was signed to a different label, Daze Alive. By 2018, he was set to make a big splash on the scene, but on Feb 22nd of that year, he was accused of sexual misconduct against a minor. Immediately after this happened, the label forced him to admit to the charges even though nothing had been proven yet in court and he had told them he hadn't done anything. Ultimately, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence, but they dropped him anyways. At this time, he also had to deal with a lot of backlash from social media because he had had a track record of promoting himself as a feminist, anti-misogynist rapper outside the norms of K-hip-hop and once the case came out, a lot of people jumped to conclusions and assumed he was guilty. That happens a lot with scandals, and cyberbullying has lead to the deaths of several K-pop stars. On September 30th, 2018, Don Malik and his closest friend and collaborator attempted suicide, but they survived, went to another label, and ended up producing Malik the Cactus Flower, their debut, in 2020. It has a lot of the songs featured here and contains a track about the controversy, "2018-2/22 - 2018-9/30", that also has subtitles by Optimus. I highly recommend checking it out.
