Novak has been at a sub-prime level for the past 3 years, but it was still good enough against the other guys. Now unfortunately, it's no longer good enough against Sinner and Alcaraz. But that was inevitable. Once Novak kept playing, the time would come when the younger guys would start beating him soundly. That day has apparently come. But if Novak can keep putting himself in a position to win, 25 may still be possible.

Sinner showed the world this year that Lucky weak era champ Novak had it easy with no competition since 2015 at Australia too. Beating Berettini, anderson, ruud, Tsitsipas, old delpotro, medvedev and Kyrgios in finals of a grandslam and thats strong competition for you ? Beating injured alcaraz in Roland Garros semifinals and that’s strong competition for you ? Except for 2020 Thiem, Djokovic had no real competition from 2018-2023.
