  • In the 1970s, my family arrived in America fueled by dreams and driven by determination. My father, a skilled CPA from the Philippines, embarked on a bold business adventure with just $70, a family to support, and the American Dream in his heart. Fast forward to 2024, and I'm grappling with a painful realization-the American Dream that brought us here seems to have vanished. In this video, I explore the stark realities of today’s America, from the fading prospects of homeownership to eroding personal freedoms and the diminishing hope for our children's future. Join me as I outline the 6 critical reasons why I believe the American Dream is no longer achievable for most.

    I make double now what I did before the lockdowns but I feel like I make about half, and everytime I turn around I'm being told to spend less, save more, stop inflating my lifestyle, and give more money over to every government who can reach into my pockets. More than anything else, the government spending and tax hikes have absolutely crushed me. Chasing down people who sell their used jeans on Poshmark for income taxes unless you can kick up 10 year old receipts to prove you didn't make money... proposing taxes on UNREALIZED gains... property tax hikes, expiring income tax reductions... Why am I expected to be frugal when the government isn't? Why do I have to go without, so that those in power can transfer my money to those who don't work enough to take care of themselves?
    The dream is dead.

      Thanks for sharing your experience. Like you, many are feeling the pinch despite making more, and I can see why the financial pressures from taxes and government policies are frustrating. It’s a tough balance for many right now. The interesting thing people over 40 probably can't relate, but under 40, which I assume you are, know exactly what you're going through. I saw a great video by Scott Galloway talking about how boomers and seniors are gaslighting gen z and millenials that everything is fine and they just need to work harder. lol. sad...

    The 2nd amendment of our last hope. Defend it as our life depends it, literally. Without it we have nothing, not even our freedom of speech right cuz the oppressors can easily squash it knowing that the ppl have nothing to fight with.

    Thanks for speaking the truth and there even more reasons but you touched on the biggest issues. I think we are seeing this silent recession due to the underlining nervousness of the public noticing these exact reasons you pointed out. It's up to us to use the "system" and fight these tyrants who are drunk on power and money. The fascist lobbyists are a huge part to blame as they influence government for their agendas versus the publics.

    • @NoelLorenzanaCPA
      @NoelLorenzanaCPA  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for your support and for adding your perspective. You're spot on about the role of lobbyists and the influence they wield for their own agendas-it's a big part of why we're in this mess. It’s definitely up to us to challenge the system and push back against those who misuse their power.

    And I’d like to add that I remember when the world population reached 5 billion people and having nightmares of being shoulder to shoulder with strangers in line to get food - now in 2023 there’s 8 billion people. With limited resources, and a huge population, competition for jobs, money, etc. is only getting fiercer in a capitalist society. So yeah, you’ll probably have to work harder, be more innovative, skilled, defeat the AI robots and be more dynamic in creating value so other people will give you money.
    The bottom line - nothing’s changed. You have to work hard like you parents did to get the life the had and passed on to you. Life is supposed to be easy. So some people need to stop whining and get off their lazy asses and stop expecting handouts.

    • @NoelLorenzanaCPA
      @NoelLorenzanaCPA  2 месяца назад +4

      Thinking about when we hit 5 billion, and now we’re at 8 billion, definitely makes the world seem packed! It does feel like competition for everything is getting tougher. But I’m not sure I completely agree that it's just about working harder like in the old days. The game seems different now with technology and everything changing so fast, especially for the younger generations. I’m not just talking about us-we’ve got our houses and our investments growing. It's the younger folks I worry about. For them, hard work alone might not cut it anymore. What do you think?
