+Eric Lima It comes to show you that anything is possible, I mean, when Jim Perry hosted the show, he would always ask contestants do ya wanna keep the Jack or change it? and some of them would change it, in fact, there was a guy named Alan who changed 2 Jacks in the Money Cards and won It comes to show you that Perry wasn't a fan of Jacks when it comes to the Money Cards I don't know why Bob Eubanks would think that the keeping the Jack on a Big Bet was a good thing, but yes, the reaction on Bill's face was priceless
T-Bone Hubbard Jacks are very iffy cards...they can either help or hurt you. Queens are tricky too but odds are in your favor with that card as well as the King.
+Eric Lima I wish that Bill & Bob's Versions had the Run the Board Rules from the Jim Perry Era from the Early 80's where you can earn a $500 Bonus for turning over 4 Cards w/o Freezing
@@tnawcwvictoria There was a contestant named Marsha Klassen who won big, mainly by betting little on the Jacks in Money Cards. Her shows were 2/23-27/1979 on Our classic game show channel page.
Jacks are pretty good cards but it Lincoln’s situation, the Jack was the highest card exposed going into the Big Bet. It was a tough call but I understand why Lincoln changed the Jack because the Queen, King, and Ace hadn’t been exposed. I would have kept the Jack.
I think this would have to be my favorite episode from the Bill Rafferty Era during the Car Round Era Lincoln Johnson Davis, Jr. was not only a great winning contestant, but he was very entertaining I mean, to get the Actual Retail Price right on the nose and then knows strippers, plus Run the Board (too bad it didn't have the $500 Bonus Prize like in the Perry Era) and to change the Jack to an ACE was AWESOME and the reaction on Bill Rafferty's Face was PRICELESS and Lincoln and the Audience went NUTS and Lacey's reaction was priceless as well Plus, to Freeze on a Jack was IMPRESSIVE! God Bless Lincoln Johnson Davis, Jr. or should I say, God Bless Hot Rod Lincoln for winning cash and prizes and God Bless You Bill Rafferty, May You R.I.P. and Thank You for all the years that you've entertained us and God Bless Lacey Pemberton & Susanna Williams
I was actually told changing a Jack is strategically sound. When you have a Jack (or Five even) and you change it, there are 31 possible cards that are either the same or better. The remaining 20 are worse for you. Of course if you're card-counting it might not be a sound change after all. Changing a Queen or Four is a little silly though, because only 23 cards are better or the same for you, and 28 are worse.
bencalebrod Card Sharks and The Price is Right shared the studio back in the day and even used the same sound effects. If a player busted during the Money Cards, they played TPIR's iconic losing horn.
Yes INDEED Recorded @ CBS Television City in HOLLYWOOD which is also the home to 2 Long Running Soap Operas from Creators Lee Phillip Bell and the late William J. Bell in The Young & the Restless and The Bold & the Beautiful also, Concentration: The syndicated version w/the late Jack Narz also used Music from The Price is Right from the CBS & syndicated years as well Edd Kalehoff must've done something right as he did music for some of the G-T Game Shows In fact, Mr. Kalehoff did music for the following shows: Sunday Night NFL on TNT, abc Monday Night Football as well as The Price is Right w/Bob Barker, the late Dennis James, Tom Kennedy, Doug Davidson and Drew Carey, West 57th, Saturday Night w/Connie Chung, 48 Hours w/Dan Rather, History IQ, The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour, Trivia Trap, The NEW Card Sharks w/Bob Eubanks and the late Bill Rafferty, Concentration w/the late Jack Narz, TattleTales (The 70's Version) w/the late Bert Convy, Double Dare w/Marc Summers, Harvey and Robin Marella Russo, Finders Keepers w/Wesley Eure and Larry Toffler, Think Fast w/Michael Carrington and Skip Lackey, Make the Grade w/Lew Schneider and Robb Edward Morris and of course, Family Feud w/the late Richard Dawson returning to the Feud for the 1st time in 9 years
I wonder how Bob Eubanks would've reacted to Lincoln or some other contestant changing a Jack to pull an ACE for the BIG BET? We know how Jim Perry would've reacted, he wouldn't be surprised since he's not crazy about Jacks and personally, I can't say as I blame him
Seems to me that Lincoln was on Perry CS. Jeran was the supplier of most of the dresses on TPIR back in the day, if it was a Jeran dress and he recognized it from TPIR.....
Yes indeed he was, but I will say this: I like both Perry and Rafferty over Eubanks when it comes to hosting Card Sharks Perry brought suspense, enthuiasm, intensity and excitement while Rafferty brought whit, humor and fun as well My favorite Eubanks Game Show other than The Newlywed Game are Dream House and Trivia Trap, but my problem with him on Card Sharks was that he started off good, but then he went to his Newlywed Game persona and to me, he lost credibility The only thing Perry, Eubanks and Rafferty have in common, they Hate Those Crazy 8's, but Perry also didn't like Jacks for a BIG BET
Lincoln was a former contestant on Jim Perry's version of Card Sharks as well.
The reaction on Bill's face when Lincoln changed the Jack into an Ace was something!

Right on the nose Lincoln!!! Good job man!!! Oh and Bill thank you giving the champ his full $500!!!!
Susana in Gold, Lacey in Silver. WOW!
At 8:09 - you'll see the curtains were used on the Price is Right - green, orange, blue and red.

Tell that to Bill Daly who changed a Queen and got that crazy 8, yet ran the board and won and Marcia Wallace was stunned
Rare to see a "fashion show" on a syndicated game show.
Thats a beautiful wedding dress.
I won it ❤️❤️ but it was really a gift certificate ... but I did get my wedding dress free...not same
Lincoln must have been a huge Price is Right fan to know the exact retail price of the dress.

I like to name the “two” card for a “deuce.” Rare to change the face card in Money cards.
1 year later, Lacey got married and a few months later she has a son.
and now, she's working behind the scenes on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette on abc
@Lisa Surlie No she wasn't!
Lisa Surlie Do you always ask that question when talking models?
@@tnawcwvictoria and she’s still there - she has been the casting director since the very beginning of the series.
Aired 4/24/1987.
I still don't get why they didn't have the prize cards on the daytime version of this series.
How to fool game show host 101, change from a good card to a excellent card
how pretty
WOW! Lincon REALY got lucky with his cards in the second round?
I wonder how Bob Eubanks would've reacted to Lincoln or some other contestant changing a Jack to pull an ACE for the BIG BET?

Can see PIR curtains in background
Very rare for this episode to see The Price Is Right curtains - even though they're still in Studio 33 aka Bob Barker Studios.
