True, but I feel like the only thing that they haven't learned is to deal with autobombs.
It's interesting to see how octolings now use different weapons. And that they respawn and super jump. Now octolings are even more similar to your opponents in multiplayer. Which I think is awesome!

So was marina one of these advanced octolings? Cause we see the kelp octolings have dark tentacles like marina. And in the second sunken scroll we see Marina at the final boss with octoling gear. Why and how did Marina leave octo valley!? What I believe happened is that after the final boss of the first game, the octolings realized they were doing evil deeds and left to go live with all the other sea creatures in inkopolis. But in seeing this rebellion Dj Octavio created hypno shades to keep the octolings working for him. Then he realized he could use the shades on other creatures and tested them on callie. So there may be other octolings in inkopolis but Marina is the most well known one. She also says that she can battle with the inklings so that means that she can swim in inklings ink and inklings can swim in her ink. This still has a lot of plot holes. Cause the inklings should know and fear octolings, not cause of the events of splatoon 1, but cause they went to war with them decades ago. Why is Mariana really here? Are there male octolings?! Why is Marina chocolate!? Will we ever know!? Where's my Marina and Pearl amiibos!!!! Kahdndhjckskoqkqndjcmnaislcmchhfhdbsusjnwuxjfnka!

Unpopular opinion about playable octolings:
I would have loved a enemy-looking octolings, I feel like the octolings Nintendo gived us are like... too much similar to inklings! Octos and Inks are phisically different, and that makes them amazing! I think the octos we can play were made to being “normal” as an inkling

The M they're all female as they do the inkling girl hip swing (more swings than smash bros. peach) and just... generally look the part, and considering you only ever see octopi grabbing and tentacle slithering the anime grills (wonder why, do they like BBQ? Get it? Get it?), and the fact that they don't have much to wear for "battle armor"... they must be pretty poor... or have needs...

This doesn't seem right to me. I can understand why Inklings wants to get back their Great Zapfish, but what is wrong with Octolings having little or normal-sized ones? Octolings' underground hideout uses Zapfish power to make everything work (for example: these flying, ufo-like platforms) and without the power everything seem to fell apart (we can suspect so since we have those creepy sounds after boss battles, but it isn't comfirmed). Octolings and Inkling needs Zapfish to make things work, but as I asked: what it wrong with Octolings owning little/normal Zapfish? Did Inklings claimed all types of Zapfish as their own or what? Is it wrong that Octolings wants to make their hideout, like, *stay in one piece?*
Remember the Great Turf War? The octolings went underground, without energy, and Inklings, in the surface, with the Great Zapfish. The octolings didn't wanted to steal it. Octavio wanted. They need the small Zapfishes to make the levels work. The G. Zapfish was used by the Octobot King.
Also, everyone thinked Octarians didn't existed. That's why they want the Great Zapfish in Inkopolis.

For beginners in splatoon 2 for single mode is that for the octlings stages use rapid fire weapons such as splat dualies or weapons that can do a lot of damge in one hit
In salmon run, you have to be very specialized with all the types of weapons so you can win most of the rounds and also you cant be a lone wolf cuz you will die (trust me on this one) cuz your team will die and so will you and be very commutative so teammates can revive you or help you in hard conditions ( but dont spam "this way" and nothing is there and when a boss come.......wwwweeeellll no one will come cuz they might think your trying to get attention (sometimes)

Anyone else get super creeped out by octolings? Idk what it is about it but the fact that they seem like a real player but aren't freaks me out, and the fact that you fight them all by yourself.. it's like they could pop out of anywhere and get you.
Is it me... or did they get harder a LOT harder... I mean... I thought the final boss in splatoon 2 was easier by a lot compared to them... they actually splatted me this time unlike the final boss of splatoon 2! The splat brella is the best weapon for them imo!

Oh my god...... I'm getting Splatoon 2 soon, and I could barely deal with octolings in the first Hero Mode. I basically ran past them as much as I could, just spraying a path to then squid-form across as fast as I can, following the orbs and taking short cuts to the goal. But now, I have to hunt 8 Mini Zapfish, whilst avoiding octolings?! Geez, this is gonna be really hard.
Don't be scared. Run up on em or use your splat bombs. I highly reccomend the octobrush or the heroshot on its max level (lvl 3)
