Awesome. I’ve heard there are a lot of bears south of the lake. I was in and near the park with my uncle the week following the 4th. We did 3 separate day hikes into the Black Canyon and fished the Yellowstone River. No mosquitos thankfully, just salmon flies the size of hummingbirds. The fishing was incredible! No bear sightings while fishing but had a surprise encounter with an old resting bison bull that had not a care in the world that we were there. We also fished Soda Butte and the Lamar but got absolutely pounded by the wind.
My uncle just informed me the conditions have deteriorated to the point of forced closures in the park. Water is getting warm and low.
The lookout view was amazing. Whole trip is so peaceful!
Loved the elk pool party, the fishing was great, and the wildflowers gorgeous 🌷🌸🌼
30 minute Stan Mills video. Heaven.
evening, Stan
Another half hour of my life well spent. Thank You.
Thanks for taking us along, that was an awesome trip. 🌲👍🏻
The trout grabbed my attention, but the flowers and their intense color blew me away. Another great video. Thank you.
Those yellow flowers during the first part of Stan's video caught my eye also. Can anyone tell me the name?
This is incredible Stan! Wonderful walk in the woods. Also THANK YOU SO MUCH for not adding any additional music to drown out the natural sounds like every other video on this platform.
I agree, nothing beats the sounds of nature.
Always a treat. Thanks, Stan and friends. 👍😎🇨🇦🌲🦌
Incredible video Mr. Mills
Thanks for sharing with those of us who can't experience it in person. Made my day.
Spectacular video, thanks so much for sharing!
This video gave me a lot of inspiration for my trip with friends. We caught a bunch cutthroat between 13 and 23 inches from shore at heart lake. The entire shoreline was good, but anywhere cold water was flowing in was dynamite. Just incredible fishing. Also, a stock outfit brought in an inflatable raft and let us use it. We paddled out and had instant action vertically jigging for Lake Trout out in deep water. An unbelievable trip. We started at the heart lake trailhead and finished at the south boundary trailhead on the snake river. The upper parts of the snake (10-12 miles from south boundary) was unbelievably good fishing, too. Trip of a lifetime. Thanks for the video!
This brings back awesome memories of taking the packraft out on Heart Lake and catching dinner for our group of 4 at the Hideaway b/c site. Heart Lake is a magical place. Never seen so many skeeters in my life tho
24:07 - Great unplanned fly-by! Love your videos and your artwork. Thank you for introducing me to backcountry Yellowstone and vicinity. I can’t wait to make my first trip very soon.
Beautiful video. I loved watching the fishing and such a beautiful place to camp.
Thank you, Stan! As always, wonderful captures and great sounds of nature in our beloved YNP.
Stunning landscapes! An excellent video. Well done Stan.
Every scene is like an artists painting! Thank you for sharing.
What a good-looking fish and a fantastic meal while camping overnight. That's how the old ones went shopping before grocery stores and I bet there were less diseases.
what a relaxing video. I work in a psych ward, pretty crazy night tonight and this was just what the Dr. ordered to put me at ease. Thank you for letting us follow you around, Stan!
Beautiful video… I too loved the flowers….Such beautiful scenery…
Well that was an awesome hiking camping experience to heart lake . Would love to go their someday. Loved all your beautiful pictures . Great to see a pika again very rare. Lots of fish an nice size they were having good catches. Thanks again great job to the top of Sheridan.
Beautiful. Thank you.
I will for sure watch your films till the end of my days!
Big and Wild Cutts! Nothing better. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful scenery! 😍 My husband & I feel similarly about the wildlife in the south, however, I shared this with him & he’s a fisherman. So, I suppose I’ll be enjoying the scenery & practicing my photography! Thanks, Stan! PS Glad the mosquitoes didn’t carry you away.
Those are some beautiful, good sized trout! Can't wait to catch a few this summer!
Still a beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable video, even without big critters ❤️💕
Nice video! Love that park ! Too bad it gets so many people.
Thank you for this!
Great video as always! 😎🇺🇸🦌
Nice looking fish being caught.
Excellent!!!
Great trip Stan! I’m doing a 5-day backpack from South Entrance to Heart Lake at the beginning of August. I hope the mosquitos have calmed down by then.
I was there August 2022, 2 months after the terrible flooding. Mosquitoes were not terrible at all. Present, but not terrible.
Just awesome!!!!
Wild park strawberries! I hate strawberries but ran across some on the way to Grebe Lake twenty + years ago. Man those were good.
bears love them too! hiking up near Mamouth many moons ago trail went right through a large strawberry patch. Every tree had long claw marks from the bears!..
Had to look up the fishing rules for Lake Heart , Catch and Release. Man-O-Man one of those Trout for breakfast in the morning , Yummy. I release our native fish except one ( No Trout ) when camping here in Florida , which I call Catch an Cook.
hiked to riddle lake a few days ago, beautiful but sadly didn’t fish it at all
What was the animal at 7:09? A beaver? Beautiful scenery, beautiful wildlife, beautiful flowers 🌸. Cute frog 🐸, too! Thank you 🙏! Not crazy about snakes .
May I ask what dry flies your group was using while fishing Heart Lake?Thank you Stan for another wonderful video. Yellowstone was my favorite go to place when I lived in Colorado. I miss it terribly, hoping to go in September
Basically just generalized mayfly patterns like an Adams when the area opens on July, 1. Then add hoppers, beetles, ants and such in late August/early September.
Any fishing tips for heart lake area ? First time in the area in August for a few nights . 9ft 5w pole . Just starting out
Nice video as all of yours are. Just wondering……what type of snake was that? 😎
Terrestrial Gartersnake, (Thamnophis elegans). Their range extends to considerable altitude and are common around wetlands.
Si what are they snagging?
Went there about 3 weeks ago, those mosquitoes were the drawback lol
Before it opened? It's in a bear management area and doesn't open until July 1.
Oh, I guess you mean Yellowstone National Park. :) Even more mosquitos at Heart Lake, lots more.
Yup
Its a good thing your friends fish or you would go hungry!
I hate those creepy mosquitoes
Help me understand why mosquito hell in the title of the video?
Ervin, Go there the first part of July and you will understand. Just plan on dealing with all the mosquitoes.
Were the Elk in the pond due to wolves?
I think they were trying to get out of the biting deer flies.
Bahaha mosquito hell u should come to North Dakota lol
Why mosquito hell in the title?
white pelican!
mosie's r a dam nuisance they shud set up huge traps near there and lakes . bzz bzz reduce the pest population
weird hardly see a fly or mossie in oz straya nowdays well anyway in the city .
