The phase this shadow is in is adventure 2 and shadow the hedgehog lore wise, during the events of both games he was still struggling with his grief leading to want to destroy humanity entirely. If anything, shadow as he is here is worse news than ivo (or Gerald, but he wasn’t initially a villain nor even alive during the events of any of the sonic games) could ever be
