I love this song! I could write an essay, a thesis even on how amazing this song makes me feel. It reminds me of all the times I ever said "just watch over them Lord" I guess I use to feel like that kind of prayer is too generic or insincere, but it's all I could muster. Bro, I'm the same. I heard this song so many times, but I just realized what it's about and I'm like "This is EXACTLY what i've been thinking and feeling and believing about myself!" all of it. I want to value God more than anything, but every time i have the thoughts that are in that verse, it's hard to keep going and trusting God and dying to myself. ya know? sometimes i'm afraid i'll be struggling with this forever, but i know God can and will change our hearts towards our self and others. i'm 18, almost 19. talk about it with someone you know is a strong christian. let them speak truth to you! you are worth so much in God's eyes. that's what God has been teaching me. :) don't loose heart.

My open letter is that I struggle really badly with anger & sometimes hate. I know i should be slow to anger, but when someone makes me mad I get SO MAD! Sometimes it's even over nothing, sometimes I just want to break down & cry because i hate being like that. Even if i feel someone does me wrong it doesn't give me the right to be mean to them. I know it's not godly, but its so easy to sin. I don't want to do it anymore, I pray for patience. Please pray for me.
I had the same problem took me a while to have patience. I sometimes still have it but over the years it seems as the more I age the reasons I become angry is for more mature reasons it's not only that you have to have the patience. you need to be able to control your anger in a way you fight for what's important to you.

Hope this helps! Anger is not a bad emotion, Jesus was angry when he (righteously) flipped tables in the Temple. But allowing that anger to be used negatively (sinning) is where we get in trouble. But if you're filled with the Holy Spirit, and that's stirred up inside of you, then the fruits of the Spirit will manifest in your life (Gal 5:22-23)! So I ask and thank God that the fruits of the Spirit will show in your life, in Jesus' name, Amen!

I love this song! I could write an essay, a thesis even on how amazing this song makes me feel. It reminds me of all the times I ever said "just watch over them Lord" I guess I use to feel like that kind of prayer is too generic or insincere, but it's all I could muster. There's a lot of brothers and sister I may never see until we're all in heaven. Everybody undergoin' spiritual warfare and I don't see things like Adonai does. A "give them guidance Father" is all I feel like I can do sometimes. But somehow it feels like this song is proof that no prayer is generic to The Father. I keep wondering how the people inspiring this song are doing. The listeners praying for them, how are they doing? I guess it's comforting thinking even if its not some elaborate, shake the roof, catch the Holy Ghost prayer somebody is praying for me. Lord knows I need it....
