I am sticking with the 1st printing. I have the bonus tiles due to the file section on Blue Moon City. Printed them out and glued them to card board. They match perfectly. Wish CMON had done a better job, but at least the game is out there for people to enjoy.
What the heck is CMON up to? That´s the second game they uglified IMHO, the first being Council of Four. Love Rising Sun, but this looks both cheap and more bland... I am glad I own the first verison!
for the cmon dragons maybe they figured people would like to paint them? and that's why they went with the click on colored bases....that or production wise it is cheaper and they have tons of bases from all of their other games
I am wondering if CMON will do a new edition of Blue Moon as well... it seems strange to invest so much on different artwork for all cards just for this one game.
I do not care about Splendor much, due to the "mathiness" of it, about it is a great game. I like Blue Moon City better though, because it is a highly tactical game and it has also great card play.
@@ansonvergens2896 Thanks. I'm always cautious after trying to figure out Marvel Legendary lol I hope that Kingdoms, Battle Line, and Ivanhoe get reprinted soon
@@LeeroyPorkins There's a new edition of Schotten Totten available from Yello, it is the same game as Battle Line (very minor differences in the cards)!
Thanks Zee! I appreciate the comparison. Personally, I really like and prefer the look of the new edition. I think it looks cleaner. But, I get where you are coming from and am glad it is back in print.
While Council of Four was a needless but fine on its own update this really misses the mark. Was going to get the game but the CMON update is so much worse to the point I'll be passing.
I wish I was slightly thinner. Yeah, keep that original for sure - it's a classic, and the artwork and pieces are reminiscent of the Golden Age of board gaming.
The cards and colors are vastly different. New version doesn’t seem too color blind friendly. Also not having the numbers in the right corner as well is kind of anti-leftist. Some fan cards the opposite way. This one forces you to fan only one way.
Coming from someone who never bought the game and never will since it doesn't appeal to me, the looks of the new one are far superior then the outdated looks of the old one. I sense some bias but that's completely normal.
I greatly prefer the original's looks.

I agree with you Zee, I didn't care for the new version due to the washed out colors of the locations and the tribe cards just didn't pop.
Thanks for the comparison, Zee. I just found and bought a sealed copy of the FFG version of the game on eBay.
Thanks Zee, at the beginning the camera was too close. Next time, please set it back more so we can see both boxes completely.
I said GOODDAY SIR!
The only thing I like about the new version is the box. Those cheap new tokens look like smarties!!
I thought they were ecstasy.
the old one wins hands down

No rule changes?
Council of 4, also from CMON, suffers from the same color-confusion problem. A shame...

The original looks 10 times better than the new one. Why would you make a new version so inferior?? I don't get that.
Probably should have also renamed the game Bad Decision City with these strange choices.
Ugh, they Ethnos-ized a beautiful game...
Regardless of opinions on the looks. If someone (My Wife & I) loves Splendor, would we love Blue Moon City?

@@ansonvergens2896 Thanks. Is Blue Moon City easy to learn?
@@LeeroyPorkins Pretty easy. A little attention to two basic rules and by the first game you will have learned all about thw cardplay.

Do a camel UP comparison!!!!
Fantasy Flight FTW. Definitely.

most likely it was cheaper to produce the rings and print the same figure.

The original seems far more beautiful and richly colored

Old one, no comparison.
if it's not a bloated CMON kickstarted game, it will suffer from these issues. Ethnos, Council of 4, Blue moon City etc. Such a shame really.
Cmon will never reach fantasy flight
Fantasy Flight have never come even close to the quality of miniatures in the likes of Blood Rage and The Others.
Coming from someone who never bought the game and never will since it doesn't appeal to me, the looks of the new one are far superior then the outdated looks of the old one. I sense some bias but that's completely normal.
original looks way better.
The original dragons look far cooler.
That clinched the deal for me.
I dunno, they both look pretty ugly to me.
Old one's better though. In person you can tell even more.
New game looks ugly.
