I think Wesley and branham are developing, but we still need to add competition. That's the only way that we're gonna get better. But we do need a wing, though. I think taking a guard and a wing is the best outcome

Reed Sheppard is going top 5. Sorry San Antonio isn’t getting him at 8, no way. He may legitimately go top 3. Comparing him to Austin Reeves is insulting, Sheppard is an elite athlete, highest vertical in the draft, elite shooter, elite defender by analytics. He’s more of a shorter Klay Thompson.
I‘d want Castle if the draft would go like this. He‘s about 6‘7“ in shoes so he can easily play the 3 and he can guard 1-3. He‘s a better defender than Cody and already a lot more polished on offense. I think his upside is pretty close to Codys but he has a floor that‘s much higher

All those SFs in the playoffs that are similar height have wingspans of 7ft+,Castle's is 6'9", thats the huge difference in them being able to successfully play the SF position permanently. With much better players still surrounding them and a SF level of athlete at PF for a lot of them too. Castle is a combo guard offensively in the NBA and especially if he is ever able to even get near his ceiling or high level of success.

But I would say that it’s because Mobley defensive instincts, IQ, & perimeter mobility are what separate him into a different tier as a defender. Sarr has excellent potential, but the only thing that holds back scouts has been his inconsistency with his defensive fundamentals & IQ
Spurs are not the wolves. We won't draft 2 point guards and get both the wrong ones. 3 and D wing(s) are the priority and we will draft at least one. I chalk this up to you being under the weather. Looking forward to the next mock.

Clingan would likely cause a revolt from the fanbase. His game is pretty much 5 ft from the bucket, and even that is average at best. Marvin Bagley is already on the roster and does everything he does, while being able to occasionally stretch the floor.
He is not a guard. He played the 3 at UConn and he‘s about 6‘7“ in shoes. He can guard 3‘s comfortably. He‘s literally taller than Dalton and a wayyyyyy better prospect. Wasting the 7th pick on Dalton would make me throw up
I like the Donavan Clingan pick for the Wizards. Realistically a long way to go for the Wizards. Plant the seed for a big that will be hard to get later. Probably draft high again next year. Winning three years off perhaps.
I'm struggling with the wizards pick bro. Just last year you criticized the Hornets for taking Brandon Miller because they said they drafted for fit, even though you felt there were better players on the board and teams drafting that high shouldn't draft for need/fit. I think this years draft is more responsible to pick for fit in the top 5 than last years given the talent differential at the very top. Also, I think people overrated positional fit compared to skill set fit last year talking about Miller. For Wizards, it’s year 1 of the rebuild. Their plan centers around 2025, 2026 drafts. Taking Clingan now gives you a longterm good starting center when those classes don’t have a top 2/3 pick worthy center
I can see Risacher falling to 4 because both the Wizards and Rockets have good young wing/forward depth. In that scenario (aka the best case scenario) the Spurs pick him at 4, because idk if the next 3 picks go for a weaker defensive on ball guard like Topić or Dillingham. The Pistons have Cade and Ivey and need a wing. the Hornets Have Lamelo who is a big guard but really lacks defensively and also need shooting around him. The Trailblazers have Scoot and Anfernee Simons both smaller guards. Now obviously those teams can all pick off potential for the future. I’m personally not a fan of Reed Sheppard or Dalton Knecht, because while Wemby accelerates the rebuild time line they are more than just some shooters away from being a consistent contending team. If the Spurs get Zaccharie and Topić/Rob it helps with floor spacing and ball handling. All this obviously depends upon how the draft goes but even if the Spurs trade the 4th pick and both second round picks to the Rockets or Wizards in order to do it I would.
Okay, I understand Clingan to Washington. But, we all know Houston is going to select Risacher. That is NO secret. But, The Spurs can easily wraggle away Risacher with the 4th pick. How? Well, you were right about Washington needing to build for the future, why not build with more picks and still get Clingan. They Spurs have like 18 picks in the next 4 drafts. They can offer Washington 4 second round picks and a first round pick in the future, plus offer them their 4th pick of this years draft. Sooooo, Washington gets a ton of picks and still wind up with Clingan, while the Spurs get their man in Risacher. That would be the perfect situation for both teams. Don't worry about Houston, they will still get a top pick, so they are not worried about it either. That works for everyone. What do you think?

San Antonio problem was defending wings, and perimeter defense, them drafting Topic n Sheppard, two guards who we seen Reed Sheppard struggle in the tournament defending guards n wings and Topic his injury history questionable, not a up n down guard, more of a Marko Jaric than Goran Dragic, Spurs have to go with doing a pick swap with Wizards and draft Risacher, and if he's available at 8 then you pick Matas Buzelis, his game fits around Wemby so so good, the slash n lobs to Wemby if Matas is gone go with Tidjane Salane a project two way player. Tre Jones is a capable guard, a semi vet who can keep things in order.. let him keep the house clean until Wemby is ready to go or you come across a generational talent guard in the upcoming drafts.

Clingan would likely cause a revolt from the fanbase. His game is pretty much 5 ft from the bucket, and even that is average at best. Marvin Bagley is already on the roster and does everything he does, while being able to occasionally stretch the floor.

He is not a guard. He played the 3 at UConn and he‘s about 6‘7“ in shoes. He can guard 3‘s comfortably. He‘s literally taller than Dalton and a wayyyyyy better prospect. Wasting the 7th pick on Dalton would make me throw up
I like the Donavan Clingan pick for the Wizards. Realistically a long way to go for the Wizards. Plant the seed for a big that will be hard to get later. Probably draft high again next year. Winning three years off perhaps.

I'm struggling with the wizards pick bro. Just last year you criticized the Hornets for taking Brandon Miller because they said they drafted for fit, even though you felt there were better players on the board and teams drafting that high shouldn't draft for need/fit. Is this a change in philosophy for you? Between that and the trade downs from your Twitter I'm in shambles as a wizards fan lol.
I think this years draft is more responsible to pick for fit in the top 5 than last years given the talent differential at the very top. Also, I think people overrated positional fit compared to skill set fit last year talking about Miller.
For Wizards, it’s year 1 of the rebuild. Their plan centers around 2025, 2026 drafts. Taking Clingan now gives you a longterm good starting center when those classes don’t have a top 2/3 pick worthy center

I can see Risacher falling to 4 because both the Wizards and Rockets have good young wing/forward depth. In that scenario (aka the best case scenario) the Spurs pick him at 4, because idk if the next 3 picks go for a weaker defensive on ball guard like Topić or Dillingham. The Pistons have Cade and Ivey and need a wing. the Hornets Have Lamelo who is a big guard but really lacks defensively and also need shooting around him. The Trailblazers have Scoot and Anfernee Simons both smaller guards. Now obviously those teams can all pick off potential for the future. I’m personally not a fan of Reed Sheppard or Dalton Knecht, because while Wemby accelerates the rebuild time line they are more than just some shooters away from being a consistent contending team. If the Spurs get Zaccharie and Topić/Rob it helps with floor spacing and ball handling. All this obviously depends upon how the draft goes but even if the Spurs trade the 4th pick and both second round picks to the Rockets or Wizards in order to do it I would.
Okay, I understand Clingan to Washington. But, we all know Houston is going to select Risacher. That is NO secret. But, The Spurs can easily wraggle away Risacher with the 4th pick. How? Well, you were right about Washington needing to build for the future, why not build with more picks and still get Clingan. They Spurs have like 18 picks in the next 4 drafts. They can offer Washington 4 second round picks and a first round pick in the future, plus offer them their 4th pick of this years draft. Sooooo, Washington gets a ton of picks and still wind up with Clingan, while the Spurs get their man in Risacher. That would be the perfect situation for both teams. Don't worry about Houston, they will still get a top pick, so they are not worried about it either. That works for everyone. What do you think?

San Antonio problem was defending wings, and perimeter defense, them drafting Topic n Sheppard, two guards who we seen Reed Sheppard struggle in the tournament defending guards n wings and Topic his injury history questionable, not a up n down guard, more of a Marko Jaric than Goran Dragic, Spurs have to go with doing a pick swap with Wizards and draft Risacher, and if he's available at 8 then you pick Matas Buzelis, his game fits around Wemby so so good, the slash n lobs to Wemby if Matas is gone go with Tidjane Salane a project two way player. Tre Jones is a capable guard, a semi vet who can keep things in order.. let him keep the house clean until Wemby is ready to go or you come across a generational talent guard in the upcoming drafts.
