I am surprised that this transcription actually works very well on this organ. I have loved this piece of music since first hearing it at my first music class in secondary school. it was the first piece we had to study the score. We had to see if we could make it to the end reading the score. Some got very lost.
Yes the emotion and the feeling of the water running through out the piece. The ending is great when the former Czech national anthem (before the soviets invaded) bursts through.
We had the same national anthem since the first Czechoslovak republic (1918 - 1938), the anthem actually consisted of two songs: 'Kde domov můj' (czech) and 'Nad Tatrou sa blýská' (slovak). The socialist regime after the second world war (1948 - 1989) didn't change our anthem. The International Communist anthem had been played with the actual anthem during the special occasions. After the split-up of the Czechoslovak republic to the Czech republic and the Slovak republic the first part of the Czechoslovak anthem is used here in the Czech Republic, the second part is used by the Slovak Republic. The part of 'Vltava' you are referring to is from another symphonic poem by Bedřich Smetana, 'Vyšehrad'. It is used as a jingle by a radio station, If I'm not mistaken, It never has been the national anthem of ours. Wonderful music nevertheless.

Door mijn reizen door Tsjechië en Praag is deze muziek juist meer gaan betekenen. Nu ik het weer hoor voel ik me weer langs de rivier reizen tot waar ze uitstroomt in de Elbe. Deze muziek is puur genieten!!
Superb Technique and musicality! Bravo!! But I would LOVE to hear her play this on a real, fire-breathing, wind-driven Pipe Organ! Maybe some day? Congratulations Ms. Slancova.

Wunderbar Zentralthema " Mondscheine", im Orgel transkription ! Central thema " Moonlight ", is very marvellous in organ transcription ! Console organ is the same of St Sulpice Church in Paris ! La console ressemble à celle de St Sulpice, à Paris( arc de cercle) : Esthétiquement, c' est réussi ! Les grandes Orgues de St Sulpice à Paris, sont les plus belles de France( question authenticité), à Notre Dame, la console, du même type( sur laquelle jouait Louis Vierne, avant la seconde guerre Mondiale), a été remplacée par une console " à l' Américaine" à la demande du regretté Pierre Cochereau, avec transmission, et combinateur numérique, et interface MIDI
Zu erst möchte ich ihnen Gratulieren met dieser sehr bemerkenswerte Orgelfassung von Smetana's werk. Kompliment und Respect. Meisterhaft. Sie spielen dass werk aus sehr schön mit so viel ausdruck wie dass Orgel halt zuläßt. Als klavierspieler habe ich mit viel staunen nicht nur ihre Fingerfertigkeit beobachtet sonder auch sehr gestaunt wie sie es schaffen auserdem auch nog so Fussfertig zu sein. Und das alles zusammen. (Zeuftser...) Es ist ein schöner genuß ihr spielen zu hören und auch zu sehen. Eine kleine bemerkung möchte ich mir dan doch noch erlauben. Ich zweifle gar nicht an ihre virtuosität aber ein klein bisschen mehr ruhe würde ihr spiel sehr zu guten kommen. Trotzdem diese bemerkung, ich finde diese einspielung Erstklassig.
Very very inspiring. Lunch break at 7:11 ? ;-) I am thinking how to create an ambisonics/head related stereo/smyth realiser version of some nice Hauptwerk pieces. Organ sound in a cinema surround like fashion - let me try it out.

Very nice arrangement, but the execution of it leaves to be desired. I personally feel that the tempo in general is much too high, which results in technical a messy performance. A slower tempo would result in a more accurate performance and greater listening pleasure. The slow part with the Voix Celeste sounds not right to me. Is the Werkmeister tuning used? Symphonic pieces are not suited to Werkmeister tuning. Still, well done, I mean this as a positive critical comment, not in a bad way.

Who Ever cares about mistakes?? Please try to reconsider your judgment- the organist plays wonderfully, full of passion, and she goes ahead full of confidence, "Allegro con brio e deciso" yet also taking back at times and using an intelligent 'rubato'....Think about that! Not quite, surely? The Caen sample comes with its own temperament which is not quite Equal. It helps the reeds and mixtures, especially, like the original 'Willis Scale' in the UK.

strakoc Dá se to naučit. Já se zrovna teď učím hrát na varhany, a po 2 měsících už to není tak složité. Jen jsou v notách tři řádky.
