Nice! Excellent use of an "artistic" project to showcase the use of some powerful tools! The practical part of me (by far the larger part!) instantly thought of my grandchildren leaning on the right end of the table and.....yeah, that. But! So in this model. It's depend where is your axes direction. It can created an "instances to vary". In this model it was on Z.
If I create an axes along X or Y direction. It would came out difference. Depends which dims you pick to make "instances to vary".
