Stockton was that DUDE tough as fuckin nails, the definition of a floor general. Stockton is low key an outstanding scorer, I think in hindsight had he had more of a tim hardaway or GP mentality in terms of scoring v distribution the jazz would have won a chip. Stockton differed too much to malone in key moments, Karl wasn't build too handle finals pressure but John was!

Someone I knew used to play girls HS ball in the same area as John Stockton's daughter. If I remember correctly she played point and the girl I knew was a PF or Center and Stockton's daughter kept getting in a specific spot in the lane and putting in floaters...the girl I knew just started beating her to the spot and got a couple charges on her ..John was PISSED he got up and started cursing out the refs up and down and he got thrown out of the game 😂

i figured out why john stockton is not respected so much. he was amazing when playing in a system but he is not a good one on one basketball guy, and most people who watch basketball want to see you take on someone one on one. and for this reason john stockton will always be underrated
Stockton's steals record is almost as untouchable as his assists record. Getting that just required speed, tenacity and timing. His defense didn't come just because Malone was on the court.
