I think Kintaro's weaning process is going smoothly. Genki doesn't need to discipline him, he doesn't throw any tantrums - of course, he's pouting a bit and keeps stealing a few sips of milk, but that's okay. All of them are very good-natured, fortunately. Thank you for sharing your video!

She's not weaning him at all. If he's not getting any milk that's still means she has not weaned him cuz he's still going to the breast. She's emotionally incapable of standing up to a 5-year-old gorilla like that same as she was emotionally incapable of standing up to gentero when he terrorized her.

Kintaro still lives to cuddle his mother all the time. Genki is very good with him like that. It would be different if you had another little one though.

Gentaro and Kintaro seem undersized/underdeveloped for their ages when compared to other zoo gorillas. Such a sad situation for all the gorillas in those Japanese zoos.
