    Everything I say in this video is my opinion! Let me know what you think (respectfully) and let's just have a discussion! What brand do you hate but would still recommend to your friends/family?

    You had me 😂😂😂😂 everytime you mentioned a bag I love & rave about! LOL But I loved this video, you made some valid points & I really enjoyed hearing your perspective! I am with you on JW Pei, they actually have some super cute 'inspired' designs with their own twist but its their Vegan leather that 🫠🫠🫠

    these are my favorite types of conversations! There are so many things I personally hate but "objectively" I can still recommend them to people. I tend to hate anything that gets popular or goes viral 😂

      Absolutely!! It's just a discussion right? It actually great that we all have different opinions. If we all agree on every style of bags, that would be rather boring. Plus, I apparently like to rile people up with these kinds of videos 😂

    lol - Been wearing coach Legacy since the late 80’s and love the ones I have and am into a few new ones, the Brooklyn 39 is calling my name ❤ I hate the coach monogram- I am a Prada girl - the look is very very me. Still love you and we all have our opinions🤣 I have the Eleanor Satchel and I love it 😂 one thing o am totally over is LVT monogram - sold almost all my pieces. With the Mark Jacobs still I hate the words all over them - that is a hard pass✅ I have the Dooney and Burke Florentine Sachel in the large and I love it but that bag is heavy !

    I really appreciate how you share the informational and educational side of the handbag community. I guess as a fellow handbag lover and enthusiast, I personally also like to get into the nitty-gritty of each brand. I share the sentiment on a couple of the brands mentioned, but I also share that they are still brands that I would recommend to other people. Wonderful video! As usual!

      Thanks! I think sometimes we have to look at things objectively. I give credit where credit is due even when I personally don't prefer the bag or anything in general.

    I have to step into the conversation on Longchamp. I can understand being tired of seeing them for sure….but the Le Pliage range is just classic. They are simple, high quality, and look beautiful. The weight is also an attractive feature for those of us that don’t want a heavy tote or work bag. I love the nylon and leather bags. 😍 Great video! You shaded many of the same brands on my hit list. Lol

    • @Somehowadulting
      @Somehowadulting  13 дней назад

      Thanks for sharing! I agree it is a definitely a classic and the appeal of it. I will have to say that the quality of the nylon has declined significantly over the years. I met a lady once that showed me her vintage le pilage and it wore beautifully, now the used ones I've seen wrinkles and pile up which is a complete turn off. i'm good at throwing shade 😉

    I use to be a LV fan and has about 16 bags. I was robbed at gun point in San Antonio, Tx. Police told me not to wear this brand., they make you a target. Men usually do this type hold up the only luxury bland they know is LV . It was a frighten experience. I sold all but two of my LV bags. I still love handbags but have sifted to contemporary bags. I have Coach, (love my Brooklyn 38),” Polene, The Horse, Cuyene, Aspinal , Songmont, and others. I love the quality of the Mark Jacob tote but would never wear one with wording like the Tote Bag. I thing Dooney and Bourne looks like old lady bags and I am 69!
    I live in Northwest Arkansas and the only way I know about these bags is by you tubers like you. Thank you

      Omg!!! that's so scary! LV is definitely not worth getting yourself in that situation. I'm glad you made it out ok! It's sad that we can't wear nice things in fear of our safety. smh
      Yes, I am definitely not into all the monogram print anymore myself either not for safety reason but just my personal taste. I'm glad we are able to connect in this community over our love of handbags no matter where you live!

    Great Video. Your basically saying that even if you personally don't considered a handbag doesn't mean the company is trash..lol. I like that you gave a suggested handbag as well because now the Coach Swing has caught my attention. I thought about getting the Longchamp tote but never went through on it because although I'm not a tote lover anymore but if I'm going to get one I need it structured. After 15 years of not having a Dooney & Bourke I bought one 2 months ago and It was the Florentine Hattie the leather is impeccable and that design is more of a modern their satchel has too much going on for my taste so I'm good with just one Dooney and Bourke and hands down I would recommend that bag if you like bucket bags.

I want a full review on the Ateliers Aguste capucine pls!!!! your le pliage tangent is so accurate, but yea their leather is good, I have some of their leather bags and I want to pick up a le foulonne at some point if I ever run across a deal I cant resist. It’s the opposite for me with KS; I don’t buy the novelty bags, I wait for classic styles in beautiful leathers. Those are elegant in ways that tacky LV canvas never will be. I have two of the KS version of the Chanel Classic Flap (paid $119 on sale) and get compliments all the time.

    Hello. I have the Marc Jacobs tote bag but find it too heavy when I compare it to the Longchamp Foulonne tote. I have the Longchamp Roseau small bag (old version) and love it. The quality of the leather on both is great.

      Highly doubt it in America. Polene is the perfect example. They are a wild success on the internet however I'm barely just starting to see a few Polene here and there. It took them almost 10 years to get to where they are today.

  • @storygirl33
    @storygirl33 13 дней назад +1

    I agree on Dooney and Burk nice leather but the designs just aren't really my preference. I bought a bag once from them the florentine and the lining was very ill fitting. The pockets were half on the bottom of the bag so I could only use the top 1/3 of the pocket. So not good. So I returned it. I am hoping that was unusual. Plus the handles were so small with all the excess leather at the smile zipper area and so heavy. The design has some issues. But if going for a big company I like coach, or Brandon blackwood or Marc jacobs because large Fashion brands like Channel or LV or Christian Dior and definitly Balenciaga, leave such a bad impression in my mind with their customer and employee treatment and pricing. So at least at Coach they will let me return something I bought if I change my mind and don't remove the tags or its damaged when it arrives they don't and blame me and refuse to take it back and Coach has will repair and clean their products if you buy from the boutique.

    • @Somehowadulting
      @Somehowadulting  13 дней назад

      That must be a one off. hopefully. All the Dooneys I've had are indestructible. I've never returned anything with Coach nor had any issues with their products but good to know about the customer care!

  • @Licia1318
    @Licia1318 13 дней назад +2

    This is a really good topic but it sounds like your issue is with logos and outlet bags. You may want to make that more clear in the title next time. I’ve never understood the comments “I’m so tired of seeing (insert handbag here)” or “I don’t want (insert handbag here) because everybody else has it”. Why does it matter? Unless you design and have a bag custom made, you’ll always end up seeing it somewhere. If I like something, I don’t mind seeing it on other people. I know I am not the only one seeing the advertisement.

    • @Somehowadulting
      @Somehowadulting  13 дней назад

      No necessarily. I cover a lot of indie brands that have fantastic designs that I've never seen other people wear it in real life. Like RSVP, Ami paris, Cafune, The Horse and others. I understand your perspective, you should wear what you like not what other people think. To pose a different view, in the world of social media and globalization we say phrases like that because we want to express our individuality. We want to feel special because of the clothing we wear and the bags we were. I don't think either is wrong, just difference of opinion.

    Great video. I watched the same video about Tory Burch. It made me take a second look at her stuff. I like a newer version of the Lee Radziwill that looks like a Kelly and some of the shoes are cool. However, I also hesitate spending over $700 on a contemporary bag or any bag 😂.

    • @Somehowadulting
      @Somehowadulting  13 дней назад

      Thanks! We all have limits on how much we want to spend on certain items. My friend was making fun of me because I was hesitanting spending 5 bucks on a paramount+ subscription. Small Eleanor Bag with snake detail is part of Tory Burch’s ‘Limited Edition’ Lunar New Year - Year of the Snake Collection. Have to say, the Collection is ‘Limited.’ This bag comes in Mint and Rose Pink. At $648.00 thinking that buying a $10.00 bejeweled snake charm from Amazon and clipping it to a bag I own would be a much better option. In fact, have already done such a thing!!

  • @wubbahducky

    Great video! I agree with pretty much all your choices except Prada! Prada makes me feel young (and I am not!), maybe because their ambassadors are all the cool kids from shows/movies my teenager watches, but I’ve always loved their styles even the Nylon bags. I haven’t used the tote bag yet but I am eagerly awaiting to use it - I love the color and that it’s not bulky and can be used as a very large purse. I sold my Tory Burch tote to make room for it 😊 I am admittedly a logo ho and contemporary brands don’t really scratch the luxury itch for me, even if the quality is excellent. My favorite contemporary bag that I bought last year is the RSVP Low Five bucket bag which I think is excellent, but otherwise I’m mostly carrying my LV Speedy 20 which for me has been perfect. I don’t prefer Coach or Kate Spade for the same reasons you stated and never understood the appeal of Oleada. However, I’m realizing that I’d rather save up for a brand I really want and I’ve given away my Coach and Kate Spade bags because they’re still good!

    • @Somehowadulting
      @Somehowadulting  13 дней назад

      Hahaha i would say Prada has fallen off my list because they aren't my style anymore and the prices they're charging are outrageous. Same girl, I'm not a cool girl either. You should start using the tote! Doesn't it smell amazing?! Hey nothing wrong being a logo ho! 😉 Sorry not sorry! 😂 I love that everyone has different styles. Yes, I always say get the back you actually want. Don't compromise. I know we will all still do it and not learn from it. But it's a good constant reminder. It sounds like you have a good variety to switch in and out of depending what you're feeling that day. Thanks for sharing!

    I dislike LV printed bags or anything with a huge logo. I like my bags to be somewhat different from what other people are carrying although i did purchase the Horse clementine bag ( in oat which is like a creamy beige) because i love the slouchy look of it and had always wanted the puzzle bag but the price was out of my comfort zone. I've got my eye out for a nice soft slouchy pillowy suede bag next, in a rich warm Caramel brown shade. I saw a good one from Stow but I'm holding out for more colorways. Some of my favorite bags are kate spade, i don't remember the exact names but i have one that looks like a penguin, and one with an owl, a Beaded cherry print. I don't usually gravitate toward "plain" bags. Loved the video, the input on these brands.

    Love your ironic video title.😂Just my two cents on Coach ~ unlike you, I am not impressed by the quality of many of their bags. Some truly are excellent but others are quite underwhelming. I think Coach cashes in on people's FOMO. I do think, though, that their silhouettes are very stylish.❣️🌻

    COACH - I want to like Coach but majority of their bags don't appeal to me. Really hoping for a cute collab with the big coin purses big enough to fit credit cards!
    KATE SPADE - The right novelty bag or SLG is worth it if it's the right theme and style. I would like them to do more SLG in that card case style you like bc a lof of their SLGs are too small or too big for me.
    TORY BURCH - Not too interested in their bags but I thought they did a good job with their CNY collection last year and this year.
    PRADA - I love some of their bags but my budget does not. I probably would cough up the funds though for the right bag.

    I will always be a Coach fan ever since 1993 - yes I’m showing my age! It was my 1st bag and the moment I got it I knew it wasn’t going to be my last. Yes, I have purchased several over the years that I was like “uh, that was a disappointment” but the ones I’ve tried to hold on to, I’ve gotten many compliments on. I’ve bought leather gloves and held on to them since before the pandemic - and that’s saying a lot especially when it comes to gloves.
    Kate Spade. I’ve never cared for the line, and after she sold the brand and past away the brand is not worth it in my opinion.
    I’ll never buy another Marc Jacob because the leather quality is subpar.
    I have been thinking about Michael Kors zebra print hair bag. And I’ve never been a MK bag purchaser.
    Dooney. I would like to get a hold of a vintage bag where the character Whitley on A Different World wore in mid series that I thought was a It bag for life.
    Monogram bags (LVs etc) have always been my last choice but Tory Burke monogram bag I have on my wish list this year because of the navy color and it is office acceptable.
