Great video my friend and what a fantastic price for this kit and delivered bargain the decals and clear part look great bit of flash lol by the time you worked your magic it will look fantastic thanks for sharing 👍👍
I don't have a glove handy... so I'm throwing the metaphorical gauntlet down at your feet with the words 'Here's a Challenge for you Sir Nige! Make, paint and decorate that kit all within 2 hours.' Obviously your normal standard is just not possible with such a base level kit, but it could be very refreshing for you to just get on and build and paint it all the while aware of the clock ticking. We all know what a brilliant modeller you are, but this is just about making the best job you can in a very short time. I do hope you'll consider doing this.
Sometimes, you just need an easy ‘whip-together’ kit to satisfy your soul! It harkens back to when you were a kid, and ‘weekend’ build meant 4 hours to build it, and 44hrs to fly missions all over the house and yard 😉😆
Hi Nigel, Wow, the way that box was crushed, I would of thought the kit was ruined. I'll be looking forward to seeing the build. Have a great day. Jeff
Let's face it for £2.99 that's a pretty decent kit, at that money nobody should be expecting a high end kit. Although it seems to say for 14+ would be great to build with a young kid to get them started in to the hobby. Would be good to see how it goes together and looks when finished.
The molding is a bad copy of the Matchbox Huey Cobra from 1972. Sprue layout is identical, but the kit is much poorer finished. This tooling probably originated from an eastern european country back from the soviet days and has been resurrected and put back in service for these cheap kits. I know there are old Airfix clones floating around out there as well.
Great review Nigel, just checked with Amazon here in the States and the price is 15.49 pounds from a seller in Germany (most probably the same seller). For 2.99 is a bargain just for the decals. Hope you have a great week.
Thanks for the review of this kit. I’ve got the ‘Pale Rider’ Cobra version from Mistercraft. Plastics are the same, it’s just the decals that are different. The options are for US Army or Spanish Marines. Which would be good if they’d remembered to put in the actual ‘United States Army’ decals and also the ‘Marina’ decals. I’ll watch with interest if/when you build it.
Even if you don't build it, I think we've had £2.99 worth of enjoyment out of it already! Incidentally, I've bought a1/72 Me110 off Amazon for ....£6, !! Not expecting much and really bought it to try out some paint schemes for my Eduard kits. I'm looking forward to building it actually just for a bit of no nonsense fun.
I thought that packaging rang a bell - I did their Piper L-4H 'Cub' in 1:48 [possibly 1:50 according to ScaleMates]. Struggled with the fit of the wing section on top of the canopy, but it was a decent [obviously very simple] kit. Nice details of the canvas over the struts on the wings. I liked it.
Hi Nige, great deal! I found that in the past the inexpensive kit are quite a enjoyable to build as there isn’t much expectation from them. I had two kits given to me in the past and if it doesn’t work out, not a big deal versus buying one for 50£ to 100£. Also give you a chance to experiment on some new methods. Enjoy!
Just had a look at what they do and found the PZL P-37 VVS FARR Bomber for £6.99. Cannot be any worse than some of the Airfix Vintage Classics and at a reasonable price.
Not something I would consider, I don’t think, but you should never say never right Nigel. Adding in the cost of paint, glue, filler and water from the tap would probably double the cost of the kit, lol. Cheers.
I can see three good options: 1: a challenge build in a 12hr period. sell it for charity. make a video of this. 2: spend 25 pounds on aftermarket, correct all its faults, wow us and make it awesome. make a video series of this. 3: melt the whole thing into sprue goo. make a timelapse video of this. (sell the decals on ebay for 2.99)
Where was it moulded? The decals with their blue background remind me of some of the Czech kits I've been building, but it looks like there are part numbers moulded onto the sprues, which Czech manufacturers tend not to include- most inconvenient!
Yo lo he montado y no se lo aconsejo a nadie para dejarlo medio decente tiene un curro de miedo y además las calcas se rompen es como si no tuvieran barniz conclusión es un truño
Just no lol. I think Mistercraft are well known for bad kits in 1/72 scale. This one looks like a right mess lol. Not worth the £2.99 in my opinion. You was robbed Nigel.
This is the Matchbox mould, kit PK-9. It´s from 1972, according to Scalemates.

This makes me smile. Now, build it!!!
Reminds me of the Matchbox 1/72 kit I built back in the 80s.
Looks exactly like it
Hi Nigel, Wow, the way that box was crushed, I would of thought the kit was ruined. I'll be looking forward to seeing the build. Have a great day. Jeff
Another great review, Nige. Good luck with the build.
Thanks Nigel I'll have to grab this cheap kit see of I can fix it up nicely
Oh are you in for a treat "Mister Craft? I've never built one of these" Prepare to be amazed. ;)
Looks like a nice little kit, I think she will build up very nice.
We shall see

SOOOO much better value than an Airfix starter set at 4 times the price!!

Love it. Great little find
Update this kit sold out on amazon was going to buy it !
Now that really is a Beginner's Kit! Let's see what you can do with it, should be no more than a 10 part series! 👍🧐😂
Hi Nigel. I've noticed that Mistercraft kits are now Hobbycraft's Airfix replacement.
I was seriously waiting for you to have an outburst of uncontrollable laughter 😂

From our view of the decals, they are individual pieces…..very tight carrier film.
That looks like the old Matchbox mould to me.
Wow, the sight of that box coming out of the envelope... ouch. Love the heli. Love the response to the sprues... half a bottøe of glue or this :/
For £2.99 what's not to like, good wee starter kit
Kit for 3gbp and required amount of putty get another 3gbp :D I hope you will show off the result of this fun build. Thank you for sharing!

Pretty cool actually
Quickest review ever 😅can’t go wrong for the price Nige
A drop of Mr Surfacer and it will look awesome!
I'd love to see you make and paint this kit just to see what it goes together like.

I remember the decals being VERY thin, but excellent [invasion stripes on the wing and tail section all tore, but blame me for that].
Looks like the old Revell kit from the 70s.😊
Normal.....Perfectly normal. I like instructions like that. I don't care much for the newer type that is much like a cheat book to a video game.
For £2.99 you sure got a lot of plastic with all of that flash...
Looking forward to the 15 part build series for this one. 😎
I was thinking this one could be up to 30 parts Lars lol
Lool, it looks like tooling from 1960 but according to scalemates it's 2001 tool - almost brand new :D
Looking forward to the 20 part build and paint series….
I may get this one done in 19 parts tbh.

Very true
This is definitely the old Matchbox Bell Cobra.. Hope it’s not MasterCrap 😂
Good luck trying to find someplace to display that monster. You're going to need to get a loan to buy all the paint needed to finish such a huge kit.
£2.99 is R61 for mr Nige, I used to pay R1.99 for a 72nd Matchbox kit that were better than that...and had a square box🤣🤣🤣
Just had a look at what they do and found the PZL P-37 VVS FARR Bomber for £6.99. Cannot be any worse than some of the Airfix Vintage Classics and at a reasonable price.
What a bargain. And I thought my Academy 1/144 Tonka for £4 was a bargain! Now, unsurprisingly, out of stock dammit 😄
That's not an unboxing - that's an unflattening
Looks good to me - from someone who collects cobras.
Hobbycraft in the UK have these kits for sale from £5.99 upwards i think. 👍
nice deal
thats ok to get yer little one into 1st model cheap n easy
The last kit i had off amazon didnt have any packaging just the address label stuck straight on the box !
Yeah.. been there done that!!
That would be a good kit for a mojo booster Nigel …..👍
Wow what can one say !
Ding Dong!
LMAO!!
Not something I would consider, I don’t think, but you should never say never right Nigel. Adding in the cost of paint, glue, filler and water from the tap would probably double the cost of the kit, lol. Cheers.
It's a matchbox mold

Brilliant lol. 1). Too long 2). No way 3). plastic probably no good for sprue goo? So, I guess I better just stick it together??

???
Hobbycraft selling these (: 😀
Could’ve been a whole lot worse 😂

Please don't build this.....your OCD will kick in and it will take you a couple of years, haha
But it’s gonna look incredible lol
Absolutely rubbish kit. Nothing fits. Pictures look norhing like the parts. Just binhed mine
