I have BTC keys in my cold storage wallet. I also have GBTC in my Fidelity IRA because even though Fidelity Digital Assets believe BTC is a good investment Fidelity does not make it available for the poor retail investor. Regarding the premium on GBTC it is lower when BTC is falling (i.e. when you want to buy it cheaper) and higher when BTC is on a romp - a good time to sell it if you ever feel like selling it. GBTC is easier emotionally to sell than BTC although so far I have just accumulated it.

If bitcoin becomes a viable means of exchange and takes market share away from a sovereign digital currency, don’t you think it will be further regulated and or taxed? Won’t Bitcoin be limited in scope if sovereigns have their own digital asset? The progression of this thought process also involves a loss as a store of value. A sovereign digital currency will almost automatically have market share locally. So, bitcoin will have an incredible hard time becoming a digital currency because of sovereign competition not to mention the volatility. So where then is bitcoin’s store of value? ETH has a lot of problems, it's clunky and reactive rather than proactive. There are projects which may eventually take market share, i.e Polkadot (although that works well with ETH) and Cardano.
