Great job. One of the best build jobs on the tube. Architects, tradesman, craftsmen, designers, and millwork all executed proper. One of my favorite house styles (Tudor). Well done
Amazing Work, Nick. Been following you on socials since 2014. You’ve come a long ways and yet you’re the same-completely committed to details, being intentional in all aspects, and only the absolute finest craftsmanship. This home is stunning. Still can’t believe you only have 115k subscribers on here. Thanks for sharing!
Stunning home. Well done. So many intelligent, beautiful details. My favorite feature is the flared openings of those living room windows. This was a really fun project to follow. Thanks for sharing.
Speedqueen appliances .. wow the attention to detail ON EVERYTHING, the millwork etc is nuts. Amazing to see the final product. It really came out. I sure hope that family can grow into that house... that is a LOT of house and could lead to generations of memories for so many.
Really sweet!! Love how all the windows are so perfectly fitted to the rooms. Everything looks great, and there’s plenty of storage available for ADHD residents like me to keep it uncluttered.
21:12 is there anything special you have to consider for a wood burning fireplace in a tight house? How do ensure no air leakage when not in use, and how do you ensure enough draw when burning?
Absolutely beautiful! What a great place... Love the brickwork, but the butlers pantry is all I would need!lol! Having a door in front of the mirror is a good idea, with my kids I would have installed a fence in front of it too! Thanks for sharing, another incredible home!
followed every video on this project. I love the narative design process, it looks like it's been there for a century! amazing work and attention to detail, an inspiration for me as a carpenter and historical home lover.
Beautiful residence. Did I hear some floor creaking as you walked into a hallway? Mirror behind door, genius!! Scale of home is excellent and rooms flow into one another. Four hinges for the interior doors nice touch. Ray
I really appreciate the details. Everyone involved must be so proud! I wouldn’t be able to pick a favorite detail. Quality, quality, quality ! Could you tell me what brand of windows you used? Living an 11 month window nightmare.
I love how this house looks "old" to fit the neighborhood and NE in general but at the same time was meticulously built with the latest building science. You guys are true masters because you can execute any type of design. Question... What is the brand of those pop-up outlets in the kitchen? Thanks
Intentional? To create an old world, non-coplanar effect? That second one in has to be over an inch out of reveal with the window casing in a foot, your moisture content at install is causing this? Not cracking or splitting away from the fastener location?
@@NSBuilders Let's be honest, these people lead entirely interior lives and never venture outdoors. That road in front could be landing airplanes--it wouldn't matter. They are glued to a TV or their iPhone. They go from the car to the garage to the TV.
very nice build. for the windows that are installed at counter top level, what considerations must be taken? any tips on what definitely not to do, and what for sure to do? Thanks!
I checked the subfloor level with a laser before setting the control line for the bottom of sill to flush up with the countertop. Cabinets get set from the high point. So we wanted to pull up from the high point of the subfloor.
Everything looks fantastic as per usual. Do you happen to know what brand of cabinet paint your painters use? I'm just curious because I recently had some subpar results..
Is there a way to integrate security/door contact sensors into the doors/millwork so they aren't seen? Ive seen this on many homes where the details are exquisite and then you end up with plastic boxes on every door and window.
I’ve seen plunger switches that mount into the door frame, and with those, you don’t see anything while the door is closed - the edge of the door presses the plunger and covers it up. This was on a late ‘60s or early ‘70s vintage alarm system, and as I recall, the tip of the plunger was a metal roller ball. Don’t know if something like that is still available.
The sink for the pot filler is nice. That way, you can let it run a minute to bring in fresh water before using it, rather than being forced to use stale water that’s been sitting in the pipe for months.
Amazing work by you and your team!!!🎉 question from a Swedish perspective, here i allways build with a ground heat pump, from NIBE for example. This Pump can solve the cooling/heating/hot water needs with 1:4-1:5 efficency from electric. Wy dont US build like this? Must be expencive to install bouth gas and air-heatpumps instead? Or is the prices on gas mutch cheeper then electric per kwh in us?
I've heard you and Matt Risinger speak on fireplaces maybe not best for energy efficiency and hard to build airtight. I notice the swedes and Norwegians have a few products on the market that seemingly allow for wood burning fireplaces without any loss in performance. Is that something you're familiar with and would you ever be interested in doing and segment on that technology?
I’d worry more if the wood was acrual wood rather than plastic..The slots will collect lots of condensation in the winter. Also, I’d expect bathroom vents to tie into the HRV or ERV.
Why wouldn't you match the garage door with the much nicer entry door? U have an arch on the entry and then this plain old manila folder on the garage side. The kitchen is next level beautiful.

Appreciate you saying that. We put a lot of work into this one.
Another great presentation of a very finely crafted home. Credit to your crew, the talented subs, the designers and the owners!

Nice work Nick. Cabinetry looks top notch and well installed. Well finished all around.
Thanks Mike

I love absolutely everything about this house… if I had the funds this is 100% something I would want as a forever home, amazing work Nick and team…
Appreciate you
Wow, turned out gorgeous. New home that feels like it's been there forever is 🔥
That was the goal
Outstanding, beautiful work. I like how you have modernized it, but it still looks and feels very old world.
i'm calling you in 10 years for my dream home. Unbelievable work! Thank you for sharing.

Well done NS Builders ! The trades were spot on. Love the finish details. Nick, Thank you for sharing what you do.
Superb build! The millwork is fantastic and I love the 'clunk' when the doors close.
That place is beautiful!
Really sweet!! Love how all the windows are so perfectly fitted to the rooms. Everything looks great, and there’s plenty of storage available for ADHD residents like me to keep it uncluttered.
Yeah, I think the homeowner could rent storage space to his neighbors.
Much anticipated video!
So well thought out, executed and finished.
Every step of the way.
Fabulous house! What a great job you and your team did. It’s one of the best new houses I have ever seen. Every room is so well planned looks stunning
Thanks Tiek killed the details ❤
Well done by Nick and the team! One of my favorite homes for sure.
You guys really hit the details. Great work!
Absolutely stunning. Aspirational dedication to detail.
Thanks

Uh, yeah, that's why we call this a video.

Lovely home, from top to bottom!!!
Could swear I heard the creaking in the floor about 20 minutes ago mark.
Gorgeous. My GAHD.

I heard that too. Not sure because I don’t recall hearing that onsite.
Slick camerawork at the end there. I have a urinal too...but i call it a sink 😅 Great work NS and crew! hope the owners enjoy it!
😂
You have a vent from the toilet to the front entrance. Thats a nice smell greeting guests. Who thought that thru.
Hope you got some kind of stopper for the upper half of that dutch.
21:48 what size tub is that and what the model it looks nice and big
What are those see-through panels on the mudroom cabinets? Looks great

When people visit and knock on the door, "What's that smell?"
lol!!
There will be a candle burning and the spray will make it a sweet smell.
“Be out in a minute!”
17:53 are those timber hemlock trusses purposely out of plumb?
Purposely? I suppose. They’re solid wood, and as it dries you can twisting, cracking and checking, so yes.
Intentional? To create an old world, non-coplanar effect?

Beautiful Home! Where does the door lead at the end of the back stairway area?
Quality craftsmanship! So beautiful! Might you be able to share the exterior paint colors? Thank you.
The shingles are a stock Maibec color. The rest are custom
Does anyone have any good resources for how the step flashing was done above roof lines that meet brick?
Similar to non-brick walls but you tie the lead into the coursing of the brick
This house is insane! Can I ask what width the hardwood floors are? Are they 3 1/4?
5” white oak
Gorgeous. Pity about the busy road!
Works for some.

Tempered. And consider the termination between countertop materials

Typically a urethane

It's cool how it looks new and old at the same time.
Was the floor squeaking by the basement door?
Gosh I have no idea 😂 I don’t remember hearing that onsite
@NSBuilders it sure sounded like it in the video, but I was also like, they would be doing something about that if they knew.
You and your crews do unbelievable work. How come you don't use soss hinges?
We do sometimes
Awesome work like always.
What is the name of the color in the butlers pantry?
Thank you
crazy ass green

Great point
Beautiful home, the only thing I don't like is the two doors in the entryway are different. I wish it was symmetrical.
To each their own 😊
Would be great to see you build a modern concrete build.

We will use ground source heat pumps when they make sense. They’re not as cost effective here and hoping that continues to change.
so we can expect a part II revealing the rest of this crazy amazing home build soon I suppose?
Nope. This is all you get ❤

Yes I’m familiar and we’re using one in our new Wellesley project
Stove area lighting? --- never knew lampshades resisted cooking grease and grime. Con. Cost = $8.7mill?
Nick, what's your journey into fine home building looked like? How did you get to here?
2 years old, picked up a hammer. 🔨
WOW
12:50 more kitchens should go with that style of island , rather than the standard waterfall island trend.
Agreed. @materia millwork killed it

squeak squeak squeak
I heard that too, I don’t remember the floor creaking and wondered what that was too 🤷
easy 5.6 million to build
I'm surprised they kept the sweetgum, down here they are considered trash trees and anyone can cut them down without a permit.
@@robertmcgehee949 in Boston most towns have tree wardens. You can't cut trees down without permits
