you wrapping your thread reminded me of a kid holding his reel upside down
But those jigs will still catch 3 pound crappie 🔥🤷🏻♂️
James this is a fantastic pattern. Not only for crappie but smallmouth as well. I am a finesse kind of angler and I have caught several smallmouth over 5 pounds on a jig very similar to this. Many years ago I got to fish with one of the finest smallmouth fisherman known and his name was Billy Weatmoreland. He taught me a technique called jig and minnow. Billy would fish small jigs like this on light line and what I mean by lite line is 6 pound and 4 pound. We would fish main lake points on Dale Hallow and bluff walls. We would tip this jig with a large tuffy minnow and it was unbelievable how big a smallmouth we would catch fishing this technique. One thing to remember though is retying after every fish is a must if you are targeting trophy smallmouth. Crappie jigs in these patterns are fantastic smallmouth baits if fished on lite line. This particular pattern would also be fantastic at night on a full moon. Great job with this one James. Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
We sometimes tip our crappie jigs with minnows in the summer when the bite is slow and it’s crazy how big of a difference it makes on some days!! And I think I’m going to be doing some night fishing this winter so I’ll try these jigs out for sure! 💯
Very good jig. Black gold is awesome color. Another winner. Thanks for sharing
Another great jig James
Nice pattern with a good looking profile.
Those look great. I bet I could catch some nice rainbow trout on them
Awesome work turned into awesome jigs!!!!!
Very nice
Great tie. Thanks for the tutorial. Keep them coming. Awesome work
Absolutely! I’ve got something cool coming up in the next one! 👀
Looks good.
Thank you, Robert!
It is pretty. I'll give you that!
Great videos keep it up? One of you videos showed a clamp you use to hold your jigs while they cure in the oven. Can you help me source one? Thanks much!
Really Nice looking jig! Where did you buy the Black and Gold chenille?
I don't know why it wouldn't excel in clear water as well. Too bring of colors in super clear water can also spook fish, depending on the species. I've found that natural selections such as this work well.
Where can I buy some good chenille? I bought some on Amazon but quality not that great
Nice job. What is the size of the jig?
Great looking jigs. I make some black/gold too. I haven't fished much with them. I always go back to my pink jigs. 🙄
Thank you!! I figured I’d try something new 😂 I’m always tying Shad pattern jigs. Been seeing your stuff on Facebook and you make some awesome looking jigs! 💯
@@FishingWithJames thank you. I need to start posting more on RUclips. I need to sit down and tie some more too. My inventory have gotten a lot smaller lately with all the orders going out. Keep it up you have some nice looking stuff.
What thread tool are you using James?
Man my hearing is shot I thought he kept saying henti jigs lol then realized he said hand tied jigs ,nice jig though .
I like your jig .where do u get your chenille and flash at
We get a lot of our flash and chenille from either nimrod’s tackle or woods and water
Where do you get your jig heads?
I get them unpainted from Guthrie Tackle on Facebook! 💯👍🏻
