A good number of years ago, I helped a friend who raced 4 cylinder cars at BGS. One night after the first modified race, I saw a young Burt get out of his car, stand on the door and unleash the loudest, four letter word tirade I’ve ever heard at Earl Baker. Dad Gary was standing close by, and I couldn’t help but think what fate would await me if my dad had ever heard me say what Burt had just uttered! Fast forward to more recent times, and you’ll see a totally different Burt! I regularly hear him say things about his faith in God, and can’t put into words the joy it brings me to see his transformation! I’m proud of you man! Wishing you and family the best in 2024!
Great interview.Easy to interview Burt and Jason, they seem to love to talk.Proud of the whole Myers Racing Family.Thoughtful of Slate to include his Dad and Uncles #'s to make his #14.Thanks for taking the time Burt to sit down and tell us some stories, can't get enough racing stories. For a guy who can only count to nine(on your fingers) you sure are a smart, successful ,Champion ,Father,Husband and you chose Modifieds to race. The Mighty Modifieds are the coolest racecars ever, bar none.Good luck and God Bless you.
I have watched you for a few years because I worked with Philip Smith when he was with Bud Hutchens and Reid Vaden and then with David Lain. I knew Gary Myers and have a story about Gary that he told me one evening watching qualifying for the Budweiser pole about his respect for Philip. Never forgot that memory. Trust you have a great year.
NASCAR has never said “if it’s not broke don’t fix it”. They have the opposite approach. Break everything then try to convince everyone it’s not broke.
This show lasted one year 11pm air time i didn't get it .was way more exciting than street outlaws that i think put madhouse out of business. i watched NASCAR for 30 years went to one truck night race bristol. because burt and Jason were running the modified race, started twice rained out 100 degrees at 1 am. they didn't run10 laps. Bristol in August sucks
Great interview, Eric. Burt's a rockstar!

Awesome. Thank you. Burt is the man.
Just stumbled across this, I'm out here in Colorado, but I have been to Bowman Grey and loved it. This was a great interview! Need more!
Absolutely love this. We need more of this.
