    I love how each party member in XC3 embodies a different aspect of the beauty or challenges of life, and understanding all of their stories really forms a complete picture of what they’re fighting for.

    What X meant by the soldiers being pro war from the start.
    Because her, Y and Z are born from the ppl who wanted the endless now in the first place, she can tell. Humans gave away their agency out of fear and became dependant. She says it was humans who gave up to think for themselfs and if Z really is every human then that checks out. They wanted to have blood on their hands as Z is the ultimate truth to everything fucked up in Aionios, bcs whatever he wants is what the ppl in Origin want. As he said in the final himself: "My existence is proof and evidence."

    Considering the fact almost all the textbooks seem to "lie" or omit actually useful information regular solders from each colony probably just never thought about the ranking system. They've never had a reason to question it. Just like how Zeon and Kite had to learn how to make crops on their own. They had to actually think about it but when using the manuals it wasn't useful to them. Some eventually pointing out the flawed information. There seems to be some kind of buffer between "being a good soldier" and critical thinking. Under a flame clock these people straight up don't question what they are doing or think about why they fight.

    15:21 the soldiers of aionios are raised so that they never question anything that would seem abnormal to us. Anything we see as unusual is just a part of life for them, like the giant sword or monster shaped mountains. If someone does question it, moebius kills them

    15:46 they couldnt have because the idea of a veteran system is the most foreign thing to them since they are expected to die early in their lives anyways

    This was really well put together and helped me appreciate Eunie's writing more. Would love to see you cover other aspects of her character like you had shown at the start though exploring those same elements through other characters like Mio would be interesting too. Keen to look back through your other content as it looks to be equally interesting.

    Wonderful video but i do have to wonder. Why not mention Ashera? Ashera is probably even more important to Eunie's mentality than Monica

    4:20 Yeah, I can only begin to imagine what it would be like to see your death play out and you have no way to avoid it. Knowing you are going to die eventually is one thing, seeing your own demise is another.
    14:27 Hence why Eunie inherited Monica’s class.

    I can’t help but wonder something. Eunie has the class of medic healer but in her previous life she was a sharpshooter. Some of the others I’ve seen reborn have the same weapons as their previous life. So why has Euinies weapon changed? I’m curious

    • @LetTalesBeTold
      @LetTalesBeTold 10 месяцев назад +9

      Possibly due to experiencing Joran’s sacrifice? Not only as a memorial, but also filling the empty slot of healer in their little detachment of friends. Someone suggested that (can’t remember where/who) and I feel like it makes sense.

    • @carolinebergin4633

      @@LetTalesBeTold that makes sense, it could be that certain soldiers classes are changed based on a strong desire after their reborn.

    If by nature the soldiers want to kill, knowing only to kill and having no other option might not necessary contradict the motivation of having the option not to kill:
    1. X is only half right about her claims. The soldiers of Keves and Agnus kill by nature because they have no other nature. We're talking about the subject of the video: the lack of agency and control. of Yes they kill by nature, but you're the one who decided this reality.
    2. Just as human nature doesn't always wants things to change, human nature does change and wants to change. The entire premise of Mobius is for things to never change. They might in a twisted way just capitalize on that off chance someone is looking for a change. They're giving an illusion of choice: if you don't take it than things are as they should be. If you do take it you simply worth more in the long run.
    3. It's to give a greater cause for the soldiers. That the war will end and is just. The illusion that progress is being made.
    Keves and Agnus fight with the illusion the war will end at one point, they don't know this entire war is rigged. Not killing can mean a lot of different things to different people. Some might take it as "We're so strong the enemy will choose to surrender, we don't even have to fight them", some as "We're important enough to get other people do the killing for us". For Valdi it means he can build levnises all day so someone else will take them for a ride and kill, a dream comes true.
    Having the option not to kill means a colony can focus on supporting, strategizing, coordinating, all to bring the war to an end. It means better structure for the entire army because now everyone are focused on just killing. You can't win a war with just killing, you got to have someone to manage logistics, someone to analyze intelligence, someone who can heal, you name it.
    Think of it this way: on the squad level, you can't have everyone be an attacker. Otherwise the squad won't last for long. They will be very good at killing things, but they can't push on for long enough without proper support. A squad must have an attacker, a healer and a defender to be effective (just like our ouroboros party).
    You can take this logic and apply it to the entire army: with Keves and Agnus be a squad and a colony be a single soldier. In order to stay alive, a colony must kill and fill their flame clock. Because of this, the best option a colony has is to spec into an attacker class and be efficient at killing things. The issue is that all colonies are now an attacker class. A good commander must have noticed that with all this killing the army doesn't act like a squad, this is always lone colony against another lone colony, a bunch of uncoordinated monkeys beating each other. A war can't be won like that. Having the option not to kill means the colony can be a healer or defender class and support other colonies in battle. It means the entire army moves together and supporting each other, and with that winning the war.

      The principal of killing must be a monster not a demon. The moebius remained to be an evil group of selfishness because their curiosity of killing everything around them to bring pleasure. In wars, a soldier gets the first kill to make him ill but then gets easier when killing more, according to solid snake in the metal gear solid.

    • @FrostedMike
      @FrostedMike 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@therealjaystone2344 What I'm saying is not that the soldiers don't want to kill. I'm saying the soldiers live in the illusion they can win the war. It's also an option not to kill, which means they can still kill if they want to and they probably still do. It's not a limitation anymore.
      Also remember each soldier lives under the pressure of the flame clock. They must kill to survive.
      Each soldier only lives to kill, and kills to live. Take out the killing from the equation and a soldier is left with nothing to do but living, and considering the violent nature they have they are left with only supporting the end goal of the war: winning.

    I wanted to point out that you should have just went with the three layers of Eunie's character (interdependence, fear, death) as the chapters of your video. I feel that your message became muddy as you jumped between her characteristics since the chapter names you chose were constraining.
