- There’s nothing really special, I understand that days onboard seem really boring because we do the same things over and over again, sometimes we eat the same food, and we just see the same faces day I and day out. There’s nothing but the ocean and the horizon seems endless.
Not everyone can stand this way of life, away from family, away from friends, no booze, no party, just work, and solitude, but for me, I try to see it in a different way. I’m always thankful for everything, for the safe watch, for the beautiful weather, for the starry night sky, for the colorful sunset, for the chance to help my family and for the opportunity to grow as an independent woman who keeps peace in my soul and never loses hope that this life is always worth living with faith, hope, and love.

Through videos like this I get to remember my days at sea as a Marine Engineer. I did come ashore after 17 years but you can never take the sea away from the sailor. Fair winds and calm seas Jy.
I realized that our life at sea will always be part of who we are. I'm thinking of getting my sailor's mark, so when I get old and wrinkly, I'll still have a remembrance of those good old, salt life. Thanks for the kind words, keep safe mate. God bless :)

Eat lots of leafy vegetables such as "Spinach & kale. Make sure ;u eat atleast one carrot a day as carrot is very good for Retina...

I am amazed with your positive disposition in life. Keep it up. Faith , hope and love... but the greatest of these is love. Not many will enjoy your job but I like how you chose solitude over the noisy life in the land. Keep it up.

I admire your courage, my dad worked for over 30 years as a marine engr. , but none of us 3 children ended up to work in the same field, even my dad discouraged me to be one, I hate the fact being in the sea, and away from family.

My Dad is a Seaman too way back. May Radio Operator pa nuon. 15 years sya sumakay (RIP). Wala pa nuon social media and other advance stuff to cover his travel and life at sea. For sure not everyone can stand this way of life! But you seem so lonely as if you were an alien to the crew and despite that keeping your spirits up... Hard job in a very special environment and probably even harder for a woman! I watched this video by chance: as a former pilot I am usually more interested in aviation but the oceans fascinate me although I can't help wondering how some people can choose such a diifficult job. I'm really impressed. All the best to you

I want to join Navy after 12th but my family is not supporting me ! They says that the job is very difficult ! And also needs a lot of physical effort ! They are saying these kind of work is only meant for boys and not girls !! But your videos keep me motivated! Thank you Soo much ma'am !! 💕

You say :There’s nothing but the ocean and the horizon seems endless. I went to sea as a 15 year old in 1963, retired in 2010, but took some watches on a domestic ferry until four years ago. But what I miss most from my seagoing years is waking up, going up to the bridge, and see nothing but the ocean.
