I have earned a BA Econ. and MBA Finance. When I was an undergrad, Macro was the key course and public policy. Fiscal and Monetary policy would rule the day. Now with advent of Behavioral Economics and its association to Micro, suddenly in the age of the internet and AI, BE and Micro have risen in importance. Suddenly, use of micro modeling in a firm is not seen as purely academic.

das crazy i’m in my fifth yr and i don’t know economics in a academic way just know it helps me to play the ongoing game we brainwashed ourselves to do in this life. And it brings financial stability in where i can apply to any firm. oppose to studying cinematography/graphic design . too deep in the whole of economics to get out. I feel like i need to restart school and appreciate learning theories instead of memorizing to pas the class really bad way to continue education yet i’ve done it the past 7yrs
Thank you for this video . I just started school and I’ve always been the creative type . Currently im majoring in graphic design but I feel like im not sure this is aligning with my desire to understand and help people . I never considered this field because I am definitely I’ve always considered my self to do something in the arts and creating but my interests in the social sciences is growing and I might actually consider looking into this further . Thanks so much for the insight!

I've watched a few videos on "why study economics" & this lines it out very clearly. I'm from a computer science background & am interested in Economics. I do have all the indicators shown. You solve a lot of problems (bugs) in programming. I am not that good in maths, but I remember studying calculus & found a slide online that explains how to apply it. I straight up "mastered" the formula that I had been struggling to remember because it didn't make sense previously.
@@vin_rouge180 yes, you can be a self-taught dev. That's the path I took, now I work as a software dev in the Finance and Banking sector and that kinda inspired me to study Economics

Currently studying economics! I do wish I could've seen his before I decided to study it honestly. I have my microeconomics final in 2 days and I have hated this class and am very tempted to completely drop it. I think that it is okay though! I am glad I gave it a shot, as I truly thought I had passion for it, but watching this video and having taken the course, I realize that the things I love are not aligned with economics (at least not microeconomics). I was speaking to an econ student in 3rd year and he told me that if I hate it so much now, it is unlikely that I will like it in the future. I realized quickly I prefer math and science over economics, and that the social science part I preferred was more philosophical and big picture (or macro econ) than anything really. I do worry that I am jumping the gun too quickly here, but I think my skills are founded elsewhere and that is okay. I say this, as a reminder to everyone that it is perfectly fine to have doubts and change courses! If what you're studying right now doesn't make you happy, try economics, as it can help you really get an idea of what you do and don't like !
Thank you so much!! This video really helped me to understand that economics might just be my thing! I was always doubtful about it and this video cleared so many things for me.... ❤
This is awesome, thank you :D it might sound stupid but I didn't know how much maths econs had so it was never on my list of possible subjects. when i found out it combines social science and maths i was ecstatic. i match all the indicators so I think i will enjoy this subject a lot

I like math and find it fun and I have taken an economics class for another requirement, and I liked it and it was fun. Should I do it? will it be useful?
Economics is very interesting but graduate school involves a LOT of math, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations. I like math, but I'm only average at it. Econometrics is mostly quantitative methods that you would find in most other social sciences. Not too bad. However in many universities, getting into grad school economics programs is very competitive. They also they require you to do all the heavy math courses.
I have struggled with reading and writing since I was little but also own 2 businesses. Do you know how much that will affect me if I study economics at Stanford?
I’ve been really really bad at math since I was in elementary school, in fact the subject I hate the most is maths. I was actually planning to take economics in university. Thank goodness I’ve seen this video before finalising my decision. I guess economics is a no for me.
So where do all you economics majors plan to get jobs? I got my BA in Economics 10 years ago. I ended using becoming an engineer because that was the only job available. You’ll need a graduate degree in economics to actually work as an economist. Food for thought!

Thank you for this video!! I’m currently picking between engineering or economics, and it’s a really hard choice for me because I have a great passion for both English and mathematics. I thought Econ might be a good blend of the two. In econ, do you do a lot of statistics? Because in that case I feel like data analysis would render it kind of dry for me. Or is there also calculus? That’s one of my favourite concepts in math. And is there a lot of history in economics? That’s one of the few subjects in school I never got my head around haha😅 thanks!
So idk about economics. Never looked into, just avoided it bc like you said, it sounded dry to me. I was just attracted to other things. However, now that i am exploring and being more opened, I’m overwhelmed by the options. I feel like i might like a little bit of everything but not enough of one thing to commit. That’s complicated i know. I am a very curious person but only in subjects i enjoy. So… really, what’s the best tip for me now? I just don’t have all the time and money in the world to get into everything to figure it out.

I am a PhD in economics professor educated in the UK and USA. First in economics, you need to clearly comprehend major theories, second, you might have some level of mathematical skills when you study Keynesian economics. Third, applying economics theories into real lives is important and required to figure out solutions for social issues and economic policies. Also, when you go for higher degrees, you might decide either microeconomics, macroeconomics, or development economics, or others is suitable for you. I studied Business Economics for an undergraduate program, Development Economics at the University of Sussex in England, and PhD at the University of Sheffield in the UK. Economics can be boring and interesting depending on how your lectures or professors take initiative but usually the economics subject limits their abilities due to its theoretical depths. Anyway, good luck to my Econ students. Any questions regarding economics, you can leave some comments. Good luck again to you all🤞.

Please put videos regularly .Now a there are so much students watching your videos in india

I'm a bba Student from India. I always do the best in econ. I love math, always curious , and always dreamed of contributing back to the society. So, now after watching you're vid, I am sure that I am meant to be a successful economist in the near future 🎉. Thanks a lot to you ☺️❤
das crazy i’m in my fifth yr and i don’t know economics in a academic way just know it helps me to play the ongoing game we brainwashed ourselves to do in this life.
Thanks so much for the insight!
update?
I just came here because I'm to make money 🤣
No way this is literally my exact situation, Im just a few years behind you. Ive always been into the arts and i have been considering going into graphic design as a major but recently I've been taking a difficult economics class and enjoying it.
Woww me too, I've always told myself I'm gonna be an artist/illustrator and now that I'm planning my career I'm looking for other options and thinking of giving economics a shot as a subject in my skl. Wish me luck!
i took economics for 1.5 years and i kept doing badly in exams. but i do like it as a subject and find it interesting. after watching your video, i realised where i’m going wrong. thank you so much! 🙏🙂
Would love it if you’d care to expand on your findings! 🖖☺️
Explain pls
I looove your energy and thank you so much for this video cus college apps are so scary so feeling sure about my major is really helping ,e through it 🩷 new subscriber for sure
I'm interested in programing, how is the career? Can I learn it by myself with online courses and videos?
Well yeah same question here...
@@vin_rouge180 yes, you can be a self-taught dev. That's the path I took, now I work as a software dev in the Finance and Banking sector and that kinda inspired me to study Economics
@@rebecaacuevasa Yup, even after formal education you will have to keep on learning by yourself to solve problems during during work & to also stay relevant to new technologies that comes.
I absolutely love the way you have explained this ❤
Thank you so much!!!
The best youtuber ever
AAAAAA❤️❤️

you're actually making it sound more interesting
I'm doing my first year and my biggest obstacle is mathematics. Amazing video by the way.
your voice makes me feel confident
This is awesome, thank you :D it might sound stupid but I didn't know how much maths econs had so it was never on my list of possible subjects. when i found out it combines social science and maths i was ecstatic. i match all the indicators so I think i will enjoy this subject a lot
you are so relatable! beautifully explained ❤️
Me watching this as a economics degree sits on my wall lmao.. I agree!! If you’re considering Econ do it!!
hiii milena, loved the video!! would love if u could go more into career opportunities for economics students

I'm from Nigeria 🇳🇬, this year i will be enrolled into the university. I'm studying Bsc Economic, I'm good at mathematics (further maths) , writing etc. Thanks for this video.
I think I'm in the minority who watch this seeks if my character and traits suits as an economist. I love systems, analysis and structure. And I love working alone
this is a sign from the universe cuz i relate to every indicator in the video
You're criminally undersubscribed
Awesome video! Considering economic and being realistic with self-thank you.
i took ap microeconomics instead of macro in my last semester of senior year of high school since it was required to take either class to graduate. my teacher was passionate and good at teaching and it made me interested in the way he taught/the concepts i learned. i also took ap stats in junior year to test my skills (but i struggled in the class bc i had too busy of a schedule lmfao) and enjoyed learning it for the most part. i don’t like math but i’m ok with some of it. i was debating on either economics or veterinary school lol
Milena first of all thanks well somehow i have intuition to study economics in university but i am in void why i want to study economics but the indicator or clues that you give in this video all match my trait now iam relatively more confident and clear to have economics in University again a big thanks for you .
Thank you for information it helped me to understand i got some answer to my own questions about understand the economics and happy new year
I appreciate the Bacardi on the shelf.
I find economics very difficult and sometimes i am in doubt that am i doing the right thing taking thisbup in masters ... But when I study it i do enjoy studying.. but i cant remember the things at one go . This is probably my concentration problem.. nothing wrong with economics and my procrastination makes it worse
I just want to be proficient with the financial months. I chose economics as my optional subject while studying for the most difficult civil services test in the world-the UPSC civil services exam in India-so I need guiding expert, and I want you to be the one who can. Even though I have previously studied economics, I am confident in my ability to advance in this field with a solid foundation and pursue a career in economics as I study for the test. Basic knowledge that I had previously learned but had forgotten will come back to me when it is reminded to me. If I succeed, you get all the praise for economics.
Thank you for this video! This helps so much!
Just graduated with my bachelor of science in economics last month! 🥳
My economics teacher once said
“Economics is your wife, maths is like ur in laws. U have to tolerate your in laws if u want a happy marriage”
I studied economic at my university. but I want to start studying again . recommend me some books and website to read more
Great video! You're gonna go far!
Statistics, econometrics, calculus, lineer algebra, mathematical economics, international economy, monetary theory, inancial accounting... These are all very mathematic based classes . U need advanced skills to deal with 4-5 of these. Please don't choose economics if u are good at math
Hello Milena, Your video inspired me so much to study Economics. Thank you for your speech.❤
I don't like maths but I'm passionate about Economics. Can you make a video of PPE vs Econometrics
Morena arretada, great video, I'm a very beginner economics student in Brazil, but I had to watch this video to make sure that i chose the right course, nice videooo 🇧🇷
What would you advise a person who does well with everything you talked about except for math? Would you recommend economics to someone who struggles and dislikes abstract/advanced math?
I watched this video 1 year ago when choosing the uni major... and now i am an economics major. i know that im not the best student, but im quite interested in the major itself and the knowledge obtained.
Thank you for clearing up my clutter on choosing econ as a major ❤
I am crying you know finally found my dream job
Going to study IBEB at the EUR, hope this video didn't get outdated (I'm pretty sure it didn't)
P.S. I love you in those glasses
If u hate reading and writing then probably university is not really for u considering the amount of debt u get into for things u don’t like
New subscriber from Nagaland✌✌( economics student)
I am a computer science major and I want to minor in something and I think economics will be good, but I don't know if that would be useful in anyway. I like math and find it fun and I have taken an economics class for another requirement, and I liked it and it was fun. Should I do it? will it be useful?
Can we study economics if we're not good at math ?
Economics is very interesting but graduate school involves a LOT of math, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations. I like math, but I'm only average at it. Econometrics is mostly quantitative methods that you would find in most other social sciences. Not too bad. However in many universities, getting into grad school economics programs is very competitive. They also they require you to do all the heavy math courses.
Você fez intercâmbio? Trabalha fora do Brasil? Queria saber como são as oportunidades de emprego fora do país na área de economia.
I have struggled with reading and writing since I was little but also own 2 businesses. Do you know how much that will affect me if I study economics at Stanford?
Friend, look up dyslexia. If you get a diagnosis from a doctor you will get help at school. Hope this helps.
I’ve been really really bad at math since I was in elementary school, in fact the subject I hate the most is maths. I was actually planning to take economics in university. Thank goodness I’ve seen this video before finalising my decision. I guess economics is a no for me.
Help me rewind time , I don't want no math I made a mistake 😭
Hi Professor Mitiko, I sure wished that you were my professor when I went to college. I would be in attendance every single day.
I'm really in a bit of a dilemma because I'm trying to choose between Economics and Physics and it's pretty tough 😭😂
Me and my first year of Msc watching this just do make sure
So where do all you economics majors plan to get jobs?
I got my BA in Economics 10 years ago. I ended using becoming an engineer because that was the only job available. You’ll need a graduate degree in economics to actually work as an economist. Food for thought!
i dont like maths but all the 4 points Matches should I take bsc( hon) economics
Anyone having any advice?, i am studying economic 1st year for few months now, I i like it but i also want architecture I drawing sketching and creating new things. What will i do next I'm afraid to go architecture, because there are lots of jobless architectects
In Myanmar,The education system is only to Grade-10 and the students who choose to biology course don't need to study economics. I was used to biology student but at university, I choose economics major as I love to study economics. Now I'm facing the problem I don't know how to study economics effectively. So sad the government upgrade education system to G-12 which must study both eco and bio when I arrived university.I😞😞😞
Dude. I don't even know how I survived my degree BSBA Economics! Hahahaah But I'm glad I took it. No regrets!
Can we give exams for economics without taking maths
Please anyone tell me 😢😢😢😢
So far I'm 5 for 5! I want to get a Bachelor's in Sociology and a Master's in Econ. I don't know if or what I want to get a PhD in, but that's future me's problem. I am genuinely excited about this.
Hi Anne i too did my bachelor's i socialogy and im doing my first semester in economics as well 🌝

Video was helpful, thanks, girl❤
watching this as I accepted my place in economics at univ, I'm so scared lol
People who like economics should understand anthropology and History actually.
lost me at the first indicator, but I relate to all the other indicators tho
thank you i am about too pick my first too subjects and this was really important too me
Hey Girl , you are Pretty good at Making these kind of vidoes , Please keep up , best wishes❤
Does an economics major fit to a future pursuit of making a nonprofit business?
I am an upcoming senior and would like some guidance since I’ve noticed universities don’t have business majors but they do have economics.
going for two degrees: bsc in computer science and ms in economics. over ambitious? sure but i check out most of those indicators that you mentioned so i am going for it
I am a PhD in economics professor educated in the UK and USA.
Sir ...tnx for your information...sir I have a question ..if I will go china for my bachelor's degree ...is it good for me or not...I am chosing international economics and trade. But I am also confused international economics and trade best or international business...
