    After watching Justin pop off yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised by a return to Top 4. However, the team that's most improved would probably have to be Snowmen, who are also in a good position to make Top 4.

    • @kickstart3974
      @kickstart3974 Месяц назад

      wouldn't say improved as much as got lucky. IDK if we've seen anything crazy different considering they took g2 to game 5 in split 1 and on top of that got an extremely soft line up of matchups (TSM, C9, long name) gen g was really the only realy team they played.

    Jstn absolutely smashed it on Friday, looks like u were right, his play style in rlcs rn reminds me so much of atow, very mechanical but also crazy with the bumps and physical game, hopefully he continues this form

    Was watching this with rlcs on the other monitor, I heard Johnny say "As long as they can avoid GenG and G2 they'll be fine", looked over and they just started playing GenG

    • @kickstart3974
      @kickstart3974 Месяц назад

      no their fault the format is awful, you should want to get 3rd seed but with swiss something lke this happens and snowmen end up playing C9 which is their third good (easy) comparable matchup. double elim is needed to prevent bad matchups like this.

    2v2 for most people will hurt their 3s. The main points I always tell people is that 2s will help you:
    - Get more time on the ball, for solo plays
    - More opportunities to read passes, touches, and bounces than 1s (with more space than you get in 3s)
    - 1v2 scenarios which are common in 3s (compared to 1v1), both offensive and defensive of course
    - 2v1 scenarios which are common in 3s (compared to 1v1), both offensive and defensive of course
    - 2nd man "Fill" positioning (basically the only time you position the same 2nd man in 2s and 3s is when your 3rd is out of the play in 3s)
    - Note this positioning is one of the biggest mistakes in 3s, since its uncommon but some people who position this way in 3s anyways
    - Spacing (with your team, how to control the ball to stay with your teammate, and how to stay with your teammate who has the ball)

    • @xx_bean_man69_xx
      @xx_bean_man69_xx Месяц назад +3

      I think the idea that any game mode will “hurt” another one is pretty unfounded. I mean most of the best 3s players in the world right now are 2s grinders and a good amount of them also either actively grind 1s or have in the past. In fact I’m struggling to think of an S tier player who doesn’t at least grind 2s.
      I do think there is something to be said about the differences in how the game modes are played (like what your comment points out), but the top tier players all know about that and are able to incorporate their 2s/1s experience tactfully into their 3s. Like playing 2s/1s is only gonna hurt your 3s if you are trying to play 3s like it’s 2s/1s. But I think top tier players (and to some extent anyone really) can figure out what does/doesn’t translate. I think the positioning error you point out that a lot of people make is due more to a lack of 3s experience more than their 2s "hurting" them.
      I think there's in fact a pretty strong argument that 2s and 1s can help your 3s, evidenced by what I said earlier: virtually all of the best players in the world play a lot of 2s and to a lesser extent 1s.

    • @darfoz8807

      IMO all gamemodes are useful for different reasons. 1s is a different beast and 2s is like 3s but with more time on the ball

      thats the whole reason for double elim tourneys it helps make sure that matchups like this don't kill a teams run. SR is probably close with SSG and OG (so around top 4 for the region) but had to play gen g. Snowmen have gotten ridiculously easy opponents. Game difference just isn't a great stat for seeding in swiss or single elim.
