No one can deliver a simple one line analogical joke like Dennis Miller. Even the soft ones seem to have a little more behind them simply because his delivery and dry sarcastic style punctuate them perfectly.
I can't recall him ever delivering a simple, one-line anything. Gods, remember when some brainiac hired him to be an announcer for Monday Night Football? 😖 Such a windbag!
@Antichrist4Life I think it's a reference to the fact that anyone who has it on CD is either too young to have been around when it was released (and therefor adopting another generation's depression) or has clung to the depression they felt in their youth for too long.
@Antichrist4Life the LP release of "Dark Side of the Moon" came with a poster featuring an image of a rolling green psychedelic landscape, and some art deco looking Pink Floyd logo postcard sized stickers. That, and the inner fold of the LP jacket is famous for it's use in "cleaning and separating seeds and stems". I think D. Miller is simply referring to the "many times removed" - in the Aristotelian sense - reduced integrity of the CD experience from the LPs memorable impact.
the reason we need therapists is because not everyone knows how to handle their own issues. a lot of ppl have flaws in thinking and often engage in unnecessary forms of self torment. having 3 person view of ur life is very helpful for anyone having issues they need to work out. especially when they dont have anyone else to talk to.
What's wrong with owning "Dark Side of the Moon" on CD rather than vinyl or cassette tape, which suck, either due to bad quality or being easily damaged? I don't get it. What does that even mean? That CD kicks ass!
Remember, Psychology is always better than, psychiatry, one is a person spend time studying human behavior and the other is a pompous @$$ going to med school to become a slave of big pharma! The world was a FAR better place when the “psychotherapist” was your barber and/or bartender, who calls you out on your shit.
The fellow doth protest too much, methinks. Could it be that he could use a little therapy but he's just plain scared to go? Anyone know whether he's a Scientologist? His rant here reminds me of the time Tom Cruise went off the deep end and stuck his know-it-all nose into Brooke Shields' business uninvited. If he's not interested in therapy, fine, but why is he so impassioned/embittered about OTHER people's life choices?
very clever rant Miller, no doubt you are reading it from a teleprompter... hey, you make good points but not much of what you said was funny...I suppose you never read "listen up little man"
Dennis wrote many of the rants himself, even compiling multiple books filled with them. But yes, I would not be surprised if he relied on a prompter during each episode. Its hard to recite all that stuff from memory, especially when it keeps changing all the time.

wish he still had his show on HBO
He's a very different person now. Sadly, Dennis hasn't aged well.
Amen, I always looked forward to it.
I just started to wear pachulli to let people know I'm more together than they are.
The way he ended it was perfect though hahahaha
2020 here, "Wait Dennis, it gets much, much, worse!!" 🥴
For sure. Comically worse. Not a good comically either.
a little bit of dennis miller goes a really long way.
I don't always understand Dennis' references, and sometimes his language gets to me...but overall, he makes me laugh a lot of the time.
Amazing and well thought out!

I think this was when Miller was at his absolute sexiest.
I thought I was the only one!!! Thank you!!! Lol
Oh God
Now I wanna make love with him 😂💖
I see now why this show didn't last long. Google wasn't around. Being able to pause and tab out for a bit of research makes this pretty awesome.
Actually, the show ran for 215 episodes over eight years - 1994 to 2002.
I miss Dennis having his own show, I remember watching this growing up and he was funny as fuck
Thumbs up if you're currently living without psychotherapy or medications!
👍
Go Dennis go

dennis miller is funny and extremely smart.

Like Dennis himself, this rant hasn't aged well.

Mostly murder and/or suicide.
Sad, but very likely true.
That's an Oedipus complex.
He doesn't seem to know the difference between psychotherapy and psychiatry.
he seems to be a comedian

I bet you only like comedy if its in boring comical TV drama or some low energy hipster content.
