I like to follow each of your Podcasts here in Germany. The contents are always interesting and varied. So it trains my understanding and allows me to get a good input. That's better than name 15 other words for an subject x which I always forgot when the podcasts has ended. That's the reason why I prefer Adapt English. Good contents, plesant to hear and news for my brain. Thank you !!!

It’s an interesting topic. Thanks a lot!
I’d like to improve my grammar and during listening I’m focused on it. This is the first time that I heard “I did have” construction, is anyone familiar with it? Will it be correct to say “I had three dogs”?

Yes, the construction "I did have" is a valid way to emphasize that you indeed had something in the past. This form is often used to stress the fact or to clarify a point, especially in response to a question or doubt.
Saying "I had three dogs" is also perfectly correct if you're simply stating a fact. The choice between "I did have three dogs" and "I had three dogs" depends on the context. If you need to emphasize the truth of your statement, you might choose "I did have three dogs." Otherwise, "I had three dogs" is a straightforward way to share that information.
