Al Jazeera deserves all the credit for turning the attention of the world to this much serious issue. Being a Pakistani I am aware of the sufferings of the Baloch and how the state has been constantly exploiting the region and its resources while at the same time oppressing and ignoring its people.
Al jazeera is like every other news station. They cover stories that touch home. They cover stories that are not politically inconvenient. They do NOT cover stories that are politically or religiously imconvenient for them. Im glad they covered this, but lets not pretend it makes al jazeera somehow special.

Because Balochistan is an ongoing issue .
I believe this has to do with the fact that PAK is an ally of US (and West) and has always informed them they need PAK's assistance in the fight in AFG. Once AFG is no longer an issue (or perhaps PAK's involvement is no longer depended on in AFG), then maybe PAK can be criticized for its own violations

As a Pakistani it makes me genuinely sad that the rich elite army and politicians living in their luxurious mansions in Islamabad don't care about common ppl. I am frm Punjab as well and u'll see only Upper Punjab is the main highlight. Even largest city Karachi is in state of ruins.

Balochs, pashtoons and afghans are being imposed on whole Pakistan. Visit any city and you'll see all the major business are owned by afghans. 3 out of 4 provinces are being ruled by balochs. Except the KPK which is a pushtun majority province. There are many pashtoon families lives around my house.

In Pakistan, there is a political system called vicerism. We are still living in occupation by certain influential groups. In modern times we should change our political system from vicerism to social democracy, as in most of Europe. The Baloch issue must be resolved first to move further. Aljazeera keeps it up.

Balauchistan is another east Pakistan in the making.
Balauchistan was a free state when pakistan got its independence in 1947. It was known as state of kalat or kalat province.
The founding father of pakistan Jinnah promised to the leader of kalat known as khan of kalat that kalat province will be independent nation.
Jinnah broke his promise and carried out military operations and occupied balauchistan and annexed balauchistan forcefully into pakistan.
So basically pakistan under leadership of Quaid e Azam jinnah did three blunders in 1947 after getting independence
1. Jinnah did not respect the rights of east Pakistan Bengali population
2. The ruler of Kashmir wanted to have independent state of Kashmir. Jinnah agreed to that. But jinnah back stabbed the ruler of Kashmir King harisingh and attacked the areas of Gilgit, baltistan and mizaffarabad. King harisingh of Kashmir had no option but to request for India's military intervention to stop pakistan army from occupying entire Kashmir

I'm Pakistani. I want that Balochistan should prosper. The reason why Balochistan is not getting the resources like other provinces is there MPAs and MNAs. Before Imran Khan came in politics KPK was also like Balochistan but He fought for their rights. The only way Balochistan could get their rights is that they should vote good people who want to do work for Balochistan not for themselves. My uncle is on duty in Balochistan and he said that their MNAs don't want to prosper that region because if that place get prosperity and they get knowledge like others than they will not vote us. And their MPAs and MBAs are like someones father was MNA, he is MNA and his son will also be MNA. So I request to people of Balochistan to vote good people.

It sometimes seems to me that Pakistan is a nation of fragmented tribes. Dominance of one region/province is highly unwise as it can never give the feelings of oneness. A matured nation takes all along in the making of a nation. Any discrimination can prove fatal.

Balochistan constitutes almost half of the country's land mass,and more than 90o/o of it's coast.
Balochistan provides strategic depth to our country.
Balochistan has archeological sites that predate Moenjodaro.
The laying of the railway line through the Bolan Pass with a dozen tunnels and equal number of bridges over treacherous gorges is a marvel of engineering. So is the Shelabagh tunnel en route to Chaman.
This tunnel is more than a kilometer long and is the second longest railway tunnel in Asia.
There are other countless unique features about Balochistan.
However the most positive thing I heard came from a foreign delegate at a seminar.
He said that Pakistan's potential lay in Balochistan, and this province was the future of Pakistan .
Pashtuns in Pakistan fighting for independence against Punjabi’s. Balochis are fighting for independence against Punjabi’s. I think we can blame the good old British colonialism empire and their slaves Punjabis.

I am against people's disappearance but those got disappeared aren't innocent. What if those didn't disappear and end up in a terrorist activity killing innocent people? Those who fled can make stories just to get asylum as these journalists are not alone. If you study asylum cases in the west you will find millions of interesting and creative stories. On these fabricated stories a large number of people got residence . The success doesn't mean the story was genuine. If so then search for other asylum seekers who are not from balochistan
