  • This is the PRC-1088 tactical military man pack radio made by Datron/Transworld. The design comes from Rockwell Collins. The radio covers 30MHz to 87.975 MHz (in 25kHz increments), so it covers both the 50-54Mhz US ham band as well as the new 70-70.5MHz European ham band. RF power is either 5 watts or 250mW, selectable from the front panel. This particular radio shown here is the very rare ECCM/COMSEC capable version, meaning it can do fast frequency hopping (100 hops/second) as well as SEC digital communication. ECCM codes can be programmed from the radio's front panel, so NO separate "fill gun" or "keyloader' is necessary for this transceiver. The radio accepts the same family of batteries that the PRC-77 radio uses, as well as the same H-250/U handset that the PRC-77 (and many other military radios) uses.

You still need the key fill device. You cant program they hop set without setting up the fill device, then loading one of the net slots in the radio.
