    [Chorus]
But you keep hangin' 'round me
And I'm not so glad you found me
You're still doing things that I gave up years ago

Harry was a rich young man
    Who would become a priest
He dug up his dear father
    Who was recently deceased
He did it with tarot cards
    And a mystically attuned mind
    And shortly therein
    After he did find
Jeanie was a spoiled young brat
She thought she knew it all
    She smoked mentholated cigarettes
And she had sex in the hall
But she was not my kind
    Or even of my sign
    The kind of animal
    That I would be about
Woh-woh-woh, you keep hangin' round me
And I'm not so glad you found me
You're still doing things that I gave up years ago
Oh-woh-woh-woh, you keep hangin' round me
And I'm not so glad you found me
You're still doing things that I gave up years ago
    All right now
    Ah-huh-huh
    Kathy was a bit surreal
    She painted all her toes
And on her face she wore dentures
    Clamped tightly to her nose
    And when she finally spoke
    Her twang her glasses broke
And no one else could smoke
While she was in the room
    Hark the herald angels sang
And reached out for a phone
And plucking it with a knife in hand
    Dialed long distance home
But it was all too much
    Sprinkling angel dust
    To AT&T
    Who didn't wish you well
Oh, but you keep hangin' round me
And I'm not so glad you found me
You're still doing things that I gave up years ago
Ho-ho-ho-ho, you keep hangin' round me
And I'm not so glad you found me
You're still doing things that I gave up years ago

Lucky I got to see him on the "Transformer" tour in the Boston area circa 1972. "Femme Fatale" should be on here, but much of Lou's best material is concentrated in his first two Velvet albums and first two solo albums (which I have on the original vinyl).

Mick Ronson rules this album, from an arrangement and guitar playing perspective. Obviously Lou played his part, writing those great tunes and singing’ ‘em (😎), but it’s almost always Mick’s subtle little guitar licks and arrangements that elevate this album into the classic it is.

Herbie flowers is never mentioned alongside Ronson and Bowie
Flowers did shared arrangements with Bowie and Ronson and played more instruments than the others
Plus 3 separate drummers played on the lp
    Credit where it's due
Bowie and Ronson would be embarrassed by the omission of Herbie remember he also played a large part of Bowies Diamond 💎 🐕 🐕 dog's ❤

I was 17 and trying to learn electric guitar but I only had a 12-string. And I was dreaming of getting the same guit as Lou Reed on the cover.
Now I'm 48 years older and so happy I got the same nasal tone as the one doing the slide parts on this song, just by pure chance... on my Reverend Airsonic.

Sorry to disappoint you mate, but those nasal guitar licks are ALL Mick Ronson.
He got that nasal tone, which is kinda his trademark sound, by using his wah wah pedal as a tone control, he’d tighten it up so that he could cock it in that sweet spot and it would stay there! That’s why it’s often referred to as a “cocked wah” tone.
Frank Zappa was also a master of that art!
