If the Dutch publishers are correct that the names were in their book given to them by scobie. Then they should sue scobie, as this is their main business and if they can't be trusted to translate and publish correctly, but allegedly, add content then who would use them again..
Scobby said he never gave a "BOOK" with the names mentioned but the issue is the MANUSCRIPT. He's weasel=wording.

I never looked at it from the perspective of the translator should have a copy of the original manuscript. I believe that it would be in her best interest to share that. I do believe that Omid does have access to Meghan and Harry and I also believe that if they had correspondence with King Charles they would share it also the same way that she did with her father. I can’t honestly believe King Charles would correspond with her on paper at all.

If you look at Kate’s track record no one has made such claims about her, the royal family welcomed Meghan knowing full well she was mixed race, why didn’t the problem arise then? Please answer this question with a logical explanation.
Harry and Meghan’s version keeps changing, at first they tried to pretend there was a systemic problem, then we find out they are only claiming one interaction, then the interaction solely happens to Harry.
They tried to make the racism claim stick, when the public didn’t buy it and ask for more evidence of mistreatment, they back paddled and said it was the media who blew it out of proportion, except they waited to correct the media narrative so that all the members of the family would be the potential racists and their names would be drugged through the mud. If you don’t smell an attempt to discredit a person here, you are just glib.
Finally their claims were questioned by most of the people with mixed families, including myself, who also wondered with the parents what their nephews and nieces would look like. Black people always wander what their baby will look like!!!! It’s a common theme in most black homes, mixed homes and people of different races. Meghan is the last person on earth to think she can teach Harry about racism, she has lived her life passing herself off as a white girl/woman, dating white men, straightening her hair like a white person, dressing like an upper crust white woman and most of her friends are white.

The royal family also leaked negative information about Meghan to the press per reports. The royal family is always given a slap on the wrist. Its time the Palace found ways of disinheriting these two pariah's especially their names and titles as they continue to make trouble for King & Country. Even if it was his manager who sent the manuscript to the translator, the manager got the transcript from Scobie and the manuscript is proof read by editors before going to print . Scobie must have seen it before it was sent to the translators

Alison, when you are presenting and interviewing authors to specifically comment on the content and this is the second time you've done this, read the book, don't let your fellow presenter carry the interview, how can you possibly ask in depth questions when you have no idea except for what you've read in the media, it's unprofessional

Thank you for making a point that everyone ignores . Being racist is not just a white issue. Racism can be culled from any color, religion, race, etc. Racism is a hot button and it is always attributed to whites and I am sure there are many people who can give widely varying accounts of racism from other instances and sources. Harry was at the tea and heard the words, who in turn told his wife, who in turn told Oprah and on and on it goes. It’s like the old kids game of telephone when the first person whispers into the ear of the next and so on, down the line, to have the last person repeat it aloud. It’s a completely different phrase by then.
I too am mixed race. Everytime we had a pregnancy in our family the conversation would be light hearted about whether the unborn child would be olive skinned like its dad or mum, or have brown eyes like ours or blue eyes like theirs. It’s a nonsense. Chris Rock hit the nail on the head.

in the Oprah interview, Meghan put the emphasis on "concerns" raised and she tied that in with slights during her pregnancy - title, money, security - as though those were a consequence and tied in the "concerns" over the skin color or the baby. Oprah probed with a pointed question as to a racial motive behind the "concerns" and Meghan weasel worded to the effect "you could make that interpretation. So Meghan didn't use the R word but that was her implication. Then Harry stepped into the interview and corrected Meghan's time line by pointing out the QUESTION (singular) occurred early on which was way before message of separating from the monarchy was public. So Meghan lied by inference and by falsely insinuating the absence of titles and security and funding were the consequence of legal barriers. These are vary important points; she made the "concerns" - a word not used by Harry - and false "consequences" were tied to the racist family. I don't know if the panel is oblivious or just obsessing over context.
The brave thing to do is the real person that said it to come forward and admit and explain what exactly happened.
That would be the weakest thing to do.
JJ Anisidoi on Talk TV says for a couple of weeks after Oprah, everyone in the Palace was trying to find out what the comment was and who said it. Obviously Harry never made a big deal of it at the time or immediately after - nor did Meghan. Otherwise they would have addressed the issue then and there before they left. Harry said it was a comment before they married, Meghan said it was around the time she was pregnant. I suspect he remembered it all those months later and mentioned it, at which point she blew up over it. Storm in a teacup.

You cannot translate a name. A name is a name.
Omid obviously didn't fly to the Netherlands and hand them a hard copy, he submitted it to his publisher in the UK. The UK publisher is then responsible for distribution to other locations, as well as the translations in those countries. No other location had this translation issue, it was only the Netherlands, which means something went on either within the Netherlands, or between the UK publisher and the Netherlands.
Obviously its difficult to tell exactly, but I doubt it was Omid. There's no motivation. He didn't need to create buzz around the book, because there was already buzz around the book; and why would he knowingly put himself into a position to possibly get sued by the royals? Personally I'm inclined to believe Omid tbh.
There is nothing new in this book and reviews are bad. All of a sudden the Royals are named and Omid doesn’t feel bad about it and he is being interviewed on every where. The Royals have not commented on anything since 2020 so chances are very good they will not this time. He has to worry about publishing company/translator as their reputation has been trashed.

For heaven's sake. I am married to a black man and have biracial children. My husband has four sisters and all four of my sister-in-laws made comments to me about the colour of my children's skin, expressly telling me they hoped the baby wouldn't be white. I didn't care. I didn't think it was racist. I didn't get offended. I had a couple of white people also say, I wonder what colour they'll have. Meghan just wanted to push a racial agenda. There was none.

Exactly, they made the comments directly to you and you were there in person to gage their tone or deamour, you probably wouldnt have been offended. But you may have had a different response if your sister-in-laws had raised "concerns" behind your back and you only found out about it from your husband. Also, there is a crucial difference between making a comment about skin colour compared to raising concerns.

The integrity of book publishing and the integrity of the justice system are at stake here. There must be a thorough investigation. And whoever had the arrogance and stupidity to print those names must be held accountable. The Royal Family, the UK and USA publishers and the author himself, if he is innocent, must be compensated. And the guilty party, must make a public statement clearly explaining why they would dare to overrule a legal suppression of name. This absolutely cannot happen in any circumstance. Of course the Royal Family would request an inquiry, and it will be a thorough inquiry. The best outcome would be if the author was at fault. The worst outcome, if a publisher dared to modify the text of a book. That's crossing a very big line. Lets see where the paper trail leads the investigation ?
Why shouldn't the public know the names of members of the Royal family who are concerned about skin colour considering the Monarchy is head of state in multicultural Britain and also presides over Commonwealth nations? I don’t care what the intentions were, if it was me I wouldn’t have been remotely interested in the baby’s skin colour, I wouldn’t have even said I wonder who Archie will take after, which is a common thing to say, because comments like that can be misconstrued. Now Kate has been to uni so has Charles, they should know better, better than me they’ve had more education than I’ve had and I know comments like that can upset people.

I know some mixed race couples who are curious about the colour of their babies skin colour at birth, as are thier families- it's not unusual to be curious. The RF may well have wondered about the colour of the babies hair as well, but, of course they cannot be human, or only when it suits others?

Omid is a wannabe something and the real Royals being silent is about as classy as you can get. Hope I would have that kind of grace if accused of such a horrid statement. M&H will soon be forgotten however, the real Royals with remain. Meghan knew exactly what emotion she was trying to evoke when crying "racism". Racism, when fabricated or real, evokes such an evisceral response, and Meghan well knew that. Especially with her being from the US and most likely the victim of racism herself.
