The Native horses that I've seen at the Nagano Zoo(many times) were small. Like a four foot tall pony. My Wife grew up playing on the foundation of the Sanada castle park.
I would assume that the grooms would stay with the luggage. That is what is thought that the servants of European knights did, although sometimes the valets may have fought alongside the knights on horseback. I have read that most of the matamono didn’t fight, but those that did, fought with their lord. On the other hand, if sandal bearers had armour, maybe they did fight?
Very interesting thank you
I really like the way Antony pantomimes Samurai horse riding.
I don’t know how relevant this is but the Yoseikan martial arts organization still practices and holds bajutsu contests, it’s pretty cool.
This is really good military information a lot of commanders and shoguns and armies on the battlefield
I want to thank you for the video

I wonder what the kanji would be for “Lord Flashheart”… 🤔
"Am I pleased to see you, or did I just put a canoe in my pocket?" 😁
