We used to make these in science class in high school. Shave a little Galena into a film container, add a couple drops of sulfuric acid, and close it. When ready, shake, open slightly, and toss down the hallway during a period change ;)

If not it pops when you hold them but once I think wait a couple minutes or next day and your hand starts to hurt or fingers. I don't know if this happens to others but I think my skin is sensitive then. Anyways still love em and just put them on the ground and never hold them anymore.
