Not only does the slow falling potion prevent you from dying from getting knocked high up into the air, but in my experience, the dragon would knock me into the air, and kind of off into the void. If I didn’t have a slow falling potion, I would just fall into the void and lose all of my stuff. But because I did drink a slow falling potion before the fight, I was able to glide back over the island before landing, to prevent myself from falling into the void. So if it is your first time fighting the dragon, and you don’t have an elytra, I would definitely recommend to make sure that you have the slow falling potion activated at all times. And as soon as it runs out, or is about to run out, you drink another one.
Yup, I keep the slow falling potions coming when I fight the dragon. It also gives you a chance to throw an ender pearl before getting too low, and they're useful later when fighting shulkers.
Will you also make an episode on how to resurrect the dragon fight to open more outer end portals? Maybe alternative ways of killing the dragon like with a trident or beds etc? Maybe other potions like strength that might be useful.
It's not my first rodeo but this was actually really handy right now because we're doing the dragon fight this weekend on the realm that I have with a bunch of friends, and I find that I always forget something (usually the mending/unbreaking book or the anvil or the rockets or all three). It's good to have a checklist!
Good luck! I did something very similar last weekend, and we only had a couple deaths - none into the void, thank god - and everyone had a wonderful time. It was a bit like herding cats at times, but still, lots of fun to do with new players.
I remember MY first rodeo ...I was so scared to lose my stuff that I jumped in naked with barely any weapons. I was immediately dispatched. Then after 15? 16? attempts, I FINALLY managed to kill her and was instantly side-swiped by an enderman before I could even watch the XP drop. I wasn't so much the bull rider, more like the rodeo clown.
I don't know if it unnecessary (or even excessive), but I always bring at least TWO buckets of water to the End. (so I can make an infinite water source) Usually near where I LAND on the Main End Island. I dunno, I just find it potentially reassuring to have a backup supply. (if need be)
To get the Dragon Egg you need a Torch, and 4 Torches Spawn on the End Gate every time the Dragon is summoned if you didn't bring any Torches with you. Use the Bottle that one of your Potions was in to collect Dragons Breath with if you didn't bring any extra Bottles with you for the Advancement. I also almost never slept before the Phantoms were introduced, so 4 nights after they were, they literally filled the skies. So, if you stay underground and don't sleep for a couple of Minecraft Years, the Insomnia will stack to insane levels. Also, the Dragon cannot hit you if you are Jumping at the time.
That last fact doesn't sound correct, hmm. If you jump, at least at certain timings, that actually makes the dragon more likely to launch you ridiculous distances.
I love how he is talking about the potions a few at a time when they are needed this season. Makes it a whole lot easier to remember and also makes us think more about their importance ❤️
I just fought a dragon in my current world the other day, and I can confirm, Slow Falling makes the fight much more convenient. Also, if you're too spooked to fight dragons, cats can bring you a phantom membrane when they sleep on your bed. It's a rare possibility, but if you spend all your time with a furry friend likr that, it'll happen eventually :D
I never even thought of doing that! Although I rely more on coordinates than maps, that’s such a great idea! I wasn’t even sure if maps worked in the end tbh 😅
Oooh, good idea! I think maps used to not work at all in the End, and I'm so used to that being the case that I never thought to do that. But I guess they do work now? It's so easy to get lost in the End, any additional navigation device makes it better.
It's a nit-picky thing, but I prefer to have a stack each of gunpowder & paper, and then make rockets as I need them. That way I'm only using two inventory spaces for three stacks of rockets.
Hey Pix! Another excellent video! I'm very glad that my youtube algorithm suggested your survival guide series way back in season 1. Its part of what makes it great imo, and your videos have taught me a few things, and also inspired me to become a better builder as well! Keep up the amazing work!
Bookmarking this episode as a reference for the next time I prep for the dragon fight! I usually also take some trapdoors to make it easy to enter the gateways, instead of throwing pearls into them.
By the way, your "insomnia" score is not so behind-the-scenes. If you open your statistics in the menu, you can find "Time since last rest". If that is above 60 minutes / 1 hour, then you can spawn phantoms. This value is immediately set to zero when you lay down on a bed, regardless of whether or not the night has been slept away.
With Phantom hunting, I like building a structure for protection. About a 9x9x3 with every other pillar missing (and no roof, obviously). Needs to be done in a flat area for best results.

You can also obtain phantom membrane from the nightly hunts of your tamed cats. If you put all of them into a boat near your bed, each of them has a chance to bring you a present in the morning.
Honestly I hold off on the dragon until I get bored with the world I'm playing in and can't think of anything else I want to build in that world at that time. Mainly because until my recent computer the game would lag out if I flew (by electra or in creative/spectator mode) plus years of playing the old PS 3 version it took about 10 minutes to get from one side of the map to the other and that habit set is now ingrained to walk or ride a horse or boat everywhere. The only thing from the end that is then of any use would be the boxs, but then I had just fought the end dragon because I had already ran out of ideas on what to do in that world for the time being since there is not much of anything to get or do in the end (besides getting electra and boxs that is). Plus the dragon is easy if you have anything over iron armor and an infinity bow, though max sharpness is handy to for close work. Today's tidbit that this experienced Minecrafter learned and didn't already know (I feel like there's almost always at least one!): that slow falling doesn't prevent ender pearl damage!
I attempted to use the pumpkin before, but the trade off just wasn't worth it. Sacrificing visibility for safety (from endermen) against a flying mob in a void map, noice! It is quite an interesting challenge though, so I'd do it for fun :) Personally I don't use packs, I'm 100% vanilla
Placing water to prevent fall damage doesn't require precise timing at all. Just get a water bucket out, hold down right mouse button (or whatever weird button you've bound the 'use' key to) as you fall and once the game detects that you are targeting a block the water will be poured out. Make sure you are looking directly below you though, as the block targeting might not work in time if you are not looking at the very block you're falling onto.
This doesn't work if you're holding a shield in your off-hand, or anything which can take action priority while you're falling. I play with a shield in my off-hand almost constantly, and if I hold the mouse button when I fall I end up blocking.
The biggest problem with wearing a pumpkin for the dragon fight, isn't that you can't see the dragon. It's that you can't see where you're aiming, or where your arrows are going when shooting at the end crystals, making it nearly impossible to hit them.
What is really fun in the end fight. Bring snow blocks and carved pumpkins. Then make some snow golems once you get there. They will fight the endermen for you!
@@Pixlriffs The vid's are great! The guides are good for new players. I have been watching the guides since 2020 sooo i sorta know everything but its still good!
Fun fact! On bedrock edition endermen _will_ walk into flowing water if aggroed and the player is standing in it. It takes a while, but they will eventually die from the damage if reaggroed enough.
How does the dragon work in multiplayer servers? If I already fought the dragon and you, a new player, go to the end, will the dragon automatically spawn and drop its max XP? Or will that player have to manually respawn the dragon and accept the lesser amount of XP you get from a second fight?

you know how i deal with endermen? idk if it works in singleplayer but i just relog and then they forget at least that worked in 1.17 i havnt fought the dragon in a while
What about going on an enchanting spree before the fight? The 12000 XP of the dragon will give you only 21 levels if you're already at level 60, while it will give you 44 if you're at level 27.
I don’t know if this is a Java problem but on Xbox I tried to run and place slabs and it Kept turning the slabs into a full block and I don’t know if this is a glitch or if they changed the controls do you have this problem too?
I just beat the enderdragon today, and im very lucky that the Enderdragon doesn't flap me to the sky. Also how often did the Dragon throw you to the sky?
I mean, you can beat the dragon with no armour and a stick if you know what you're doing. I'm just trying to prepare first-timers for the worst case scenarios in the dragon fight.
@@Pixlriffs I still do it your way, and today I learned about the slow falling potion. How did I miss that. I have never died that way since using feather falling but know it is going to look epic.
So i had maxed out gear (every single item except elytrs in netherite) when i took out the dragon i play on bedrock so it was harder than java but i had full protection 4 and sharpness 5 and power 5 the only thing that mattered was dragons breath which dealt like 1.5 hearts per damage which was insane then i lost all my stuff and 60 lvls cuz while afking at my iron farm i accidentally decrouched and opened the fence gates which ended up as my death and iron golems spawned outside of the farm giving like 1/5 of the iron i expected
Doubtful. It'd be season 3 of Skyblock anyway, but I doubt I'll return to Skyblock for a while. The whole point of this update is changes to the terrain, and skyblock doesn't get to take advantage of much of that
@@Pixlriffs So there will be no distractions to this series like SMP/hermit/skyblock/hardcore? One more thing today also i am late to office solely bcz of you! Can't stop watching your video 😂👍🏻
@@Pixlriffs Why do people comment before watching the whole video? Why do people ask you to like the video at the beginning before you've watched all of it?
Yes, using cat gift farms can provide you with phantom membranes. So effective: Yes. Efficient? Well, that depends on how many cats you can fit into the area. The one good thing about it is not being required to not sleep for multiple nights to start getting them. (In fact, you need to sleep to obtain gifts from cats.) Phantom membranes are the rarest gift, though.
The gateways let you skip about 900 blocks of void, but as the others mentioned, those islands out there are still disconnected, and it's not very common to end up right on an island with an end city when you exit the gateway.

you know how i deal with endermen? idk if it works in singleplayer but i just relog and then they forget at least that worked in 1.17 i havnt fought the dragon in a while
What about going on an enchanting spree before the fight? The 12000 XP of the dragon will give you only 21 levels if you're already at level 60, while it will give you 44 if you're at level 27.
I did that at the beginning of today’s episode with the dragon fight 😅
Goodluck with the fight bro..not that you need it 😆
I don’t know if this is a Java problem but on Xbox I tried to run and place slabs and it Kept turning the slabs into a full block and I don’t know if this is a glitch or if they changed the controls do you have this problem too?
Pixlriffs how do you avoid those arrows so good me and my brother tried it but we always got hit how do you do it?
I don't understand why he's taking the enchanted golden apple. Does it despawn if left in a regular chest at base?
No, it’s more of a precautionary measure. They’re very strong and give good potentially life saving benefits, which is useful in a boss fight
I just beat the enderdragon today, and im very lucky that the Enderdragon doesn't flap me to the sky. Also how often did the Dragon throw you to the sky?
So close!!
Just have full protection+feather falling armor with a power 5 infinity bow is more than enough imo
Pix thanks for the water bucket trick but I know these bcs In Indian youtubers do this trick very often but Anyways thanks
Thx I'm having a good day ☺️
Do phantoms spawn after you spend a few days in the nether?
could you do an automatic gunpowder farm video? that sounds interesting
He will kae after getting the elytra
I remember the dragon fight from the series before. He got the elytra before he fought the dragon are you going to do the same thing for this
So i had maxed out gear (every single item except elytrs in netherite) when i took out the dragon i play on bedrock so it was harder than java but i had full protection 4 and sharpness 5 and power 5 the only thing that mattered was dragons breath which dealt like 1.5 hearts per damage which was insane then i lost all my stuff and 60 lvls cuz while afking at my iron farm i accidentally decrouched and opened the fence gates which ended up as my death and iron golems spawned outside of the farm giving like 1/5 of the iron i expected
Are you going to start another skyblock series(S2) as just you did during survival guide season 1?
Hi mr. Pixlriffs , keep a mending or unbreaking book and an anvil too for the elytra
Why do people keep telling me to do something I did in the video? 😅
@@Pixlriffs Why do people comment before watching the whole video? Why do people ask you to like the video at the beginning before you've watched all of it?
I like to make a bunch of enderchests so I can access My stuff from a load of different places
Good
Pixl you helped me a lot
Why do you never use a potion of strength?
Does farming membrane through cats on boats effective?
Yes, using cat gift farms can provide you with phantom membranes. So effective: Yes. Efficient? Well, that depends on how many cats you can fit into the area. The one good thing about it is not being required to not sleep for multiple nights to start getting them. (In fact, you need to sleep to obtain gifts from cats.) Phantom membranes are the rarest gift, though.
Alternatively, if you tame a cat, there’s a chance they will find one for you when you sleep
Wait. Why you want to make bridge from central island? There are end gateways to take you to outer end islands. No?
Between end islands in the outer end to find end cities
I don't think he means that, I think he means bridging between the outer end islands
The gateways let you skip about 900 blocks of void, but as the others mentioned, those islands out there are still disconnected, and it's not very common to end up right on an island with an end city when you exit the gateway.
@@TheRealWormbo I see. 🙂 I always use end stone mined at the source for that. But thanks for all the replies guys. I appreciate it.
Pixlriffs I love your videos. You put so much thought, planning, detail, professionalism, and you help make playing Minecraft positive for people everywhere. You upload regularly. You are kind even to viewers and commenter's that purposely are offensive because they are unhappy in life. I am happy to support you, and your work. Thank you!!!
Are you going to bring bottles to collect and explain dragon brearh
He did bring bottles for that
Does the mechanic that spawn chunks are always loaded apply to bedrock edition?
They don’t exist on BE
Is the enderdragon harder than the wither?
Either fight can be turned to your advantage. I don't consider either of them particularly hard, although the wither on Bedrock Edition is the worst of the lot.
On bedrock, the wither is really laggy as it breaks loads of blocks
@@basilthebrush3396 I sometimes turn off the game rule "tile drops" for the first wither fight for that reason!
Tham yiu gonna already do the finale boss? In nwxt week you literally have accses to wither
Next episode: how you could scratch all that and bring beds omegalul.
