I was one of the few ppl that preordered a Peak. As soon as i received mine, i send Novation a list of OS Features that i would like to der for the Peak. They literally implemented EVERYTHING i asked for. This was the Last point on my request list.... brilliant!
Nice demo of the tables. Gotta love Novation for the effort they put into making updates to their synths. They not only fix bugs, but they add additional functionality (sometimes a large amount of this) to just about every synth.
I think this capability alone puts PEak and summit in a whole different class as far as polysynths go on the market. To my knowledge, very few hardware synths are capable of this and it has been something I have wanted to see for a long time in a hardware synthesizer.
Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this incredible new feature, Tim! I'm especially impressed with the audio file import! Planning to experiment with some single-cycle waveforms! Your string sample at the end was absolutely GORGEOUS! This feature takes an already versatile architecture and adds an exponential level of exploration and flexibility! Looking forward to plunging into these depths on my Summit! Peace.
I love how i can hear the sounds straight from my Novation Summits keyboard! Plus all the new presets and waveforms makes the Summit/Peak absolute beasts!!
Thumbs up on production quality of: audio levels, lighting, camera and split screens. Content, voice quality and easy to follow workflow gets 5-stars. If you were teaching on a university level, I would definitely sign up.
Great video Tim, thank you. I'm so stoked by this update. Peak is already a glorious synth and this takes it to a whole new level. Good idea about pulling separate waveforms from a sample to get the better textures. The bass string wavetable sounded really nice.
Excellent video Tim, you did a great job demonstrating the tool. I love the Peak so much and it just keeps improving! The three distortion/overdrive stages are my favorite aspect of the synth.
This is such a cool update! thanks for the walk through! I would be interested to see what happens when you import a drum break into the wave table slot if you make some more examples
I discovered your videos while looking for custom oscillators for a Korg NTS-1 and I'm really impressed by the quality. They seem much more intelligent them standard RUclips synth videos and I really enjoy them. I'm very interested in a Summit and didn't even know this was possible.
I'm not connected to them in any way, but they're a flippin' incredible company. I went to some of their free pop up shop sessions in London at the end of 2019, there were some top notch presenters and presentations there, seriously time well spent, and they knew both their stuff and Novation's products. I'd pay for the kind of advice I got there! Not often I say this about a company, but I have a lot of time for their customer obsession and the people they work with and hire. It's certainly swayed my thinking when I buy gear.

Really apreciatte your Video, brillant explanation! turning on my Summit in 3..2..1 :)
Hi Tim, re. the live edit facility you demonstrated. Just one obvious question. As you sound out each new edit, can you back track to previous edits if perchance one of those was more interesting? Are the various edits stored for a limited period say, whilst working on a patch for futher referral or, is it a one shot deal and the previous edits are gone?
@@PaulGBass Definitely. The Hydrasynth has a very nice UI workflow and many screens with info but while the Peak/Summit just a poor 4 lines LCD (weakest point of the synth imho - they should have gone for an OLED and display as on DSI Pro 2 or P12 - still my favorite; small but high res and a lot of info). However the Summit in particular has the whole panel as classical full knobby synth and has analog filters, VCA and distortion. So nice to have user wavetables in Summit. My next question is: why only 5 slots and not 128? I'll put the same question in the main thread to Tim
Great video of a great feature! I've been considering selling some stuff to get the Summit as my main workhorse instrument, and this just makes me more certain! Would you be able to mimic acoustic instruments, such as piano or guitars using this?
Great sounds. This has made it a much more interesting option. I was previously only considering hydrasynth for wavetables but now I'm not so sure. It would be interesting to see if importing Adventure Kids free single cycle waveforms could oscillators that sound like vintage synths. Could be another video idea for you?
The Peak and Summit are unique in that they are Hybrids. The wavetables are digital but the amp and envelope are analogue. That might explain its characteristic sound over other fully digital synths. Something to consider.
have you checked out "node" from sonic academy - it would apear to be the perfect partner for this. it is a node based wavetable creator/editor. i just tried it out and it is good and only 20 quid.
Wow, thats easy. I remember myself dying inside using Yamahas AWM2 from the early 90s. The idea was similar but the software is crap in 2020. I also like when manufacturers improving their products.

Hey Tim, you can hold the Alt-key and drag on the wave-thumb to copy them
Mac: ALT+drag to copy a waveform to another slot (saw this on gearslutz)
The same key combo also works on Windows.
Love the examples well done Tim

Thanks Tim. Very clear overview. Much appreciated!
Thank you Tim and thank you Novation! This will help us to while away these lockdown days!

Radically better and more choir-like when you shifted to WAVEFORM!
Brilliant run-through Tim, thank you.
Thanks very much Tim. Well done, as usual.
14:18 Hey Tim. Alt(Opt) & drag will copy one of the 5 waveforms over. :) Great video btw!

Great Video.. Nice bit of software too...
Useful content, as always. Thank you, Tim.
Great video Tim (as usual should I say ;-) ).
Now my problem will be to choose between Summit and Super 6...
Greetings from Belgium and stay safe!
Far less inclined to buy either a Hydrasynth or an Argon 8 now....

Great addition making the Summit an all-round synth to have.
A remark: why only 5 slots and not 8 (or 128 - let's be crazy ;-) )?
Our master... 🙏🏻
Well done! Easy to follow demo. With your Peak, what keyboard do you enjoy using?

This could really benefit from copy/paste feature between the five wave table cells!
Hi Tim, I thought you "got rid of " your Peak, is this a loaner?
have you checked out "node" from sonic academy - it would apear to be the perfect partner for this. it is a node based wavetable creator/editor. i just tried it out and it is good and only 20 quid.
You can use you computer keyboard as a music keyboard instead of using your mouse. Logic Pro style.
5:33 69% Smoothing. Nice.

They need an iOS app for this
