The fight was really damn amazing to watch.
with Etoiles being on such a win streak against the code monsters, I'm starting to see ppl undermining the difficulty of these fights. the thing is those are very hard to balance, the admins have to find the right spot between giving players a free win and making the fight impossible to win. And with fights such as this one, they are actually doing a fantastic job. As Etoiles has said himself, and as you can see yourself, if he loses his focus or makes a mistake, he's just dead in one instant. With his potions he may be "unkillable" in theory (unless the situation can't be won), the thing is it's purely a matter of skill if you are able to put that into practice while in the middle of the action, throughout the entirety of the fight, all the while having to fight back against an opponent with insane health and dealing far greater damages. Now add to that 3 phases, including one where Etoiles in in 1v2 (not to mention the literal swarms of buffed mobs they'd spawn on him in previous battles). And you can see here and in his other last fight how he was close to lose multiple times, if it were not for his fast enough reaction time and right decision making. It really seems that in those last few fights he's been having against the code, the admins managed to make the challenge just below the "impossible" level, and each time Etoiles just played good enough to win. So big GGs to all of them 👍
Absolutely, Etoiles really popped off here but that just shows how skilled and just great at decision making he is, but also the admins balancing those aspects are extremely true, what a win for everyone! Definitely a great spectacle 😄

this was crazy to watch live. i seriously think the admins can’t kill etoiles, i didn’t see him drop under like 12 hearts the entire fight. they’ve been throwing everything they can at him and the man is too legendary to die LFG
Not everything. I'm pretty sure if 3 or 4 codes attack him at the same time he will not survive (at least he will lose a lot of totems).
There isn't really since he just heals everytime he takes damage. Even if he is weaker than them, he can fight almost infinitely.

Oh, man, I was watching and he dropped down to 10 hearts the man is cracked but his skill and focus just undersells how hard this fight is if they overwhelm him he definitely will have a higher chance of dying but even then that's something to see in the future
Something i noticed: The first oponent have a lot of life, because of the golden apples, the second don't have very skill but took the emocional, making etoiles even think more before killing him, and the last was INSANE

no when you see the Aypierre POV (he was here for the commentary) you can clearly see, she attack etoiles, and Aypierre and Etoiles tried to speak with Pomme and ask the Secret Question, who Pomme need to know the answer (blue flower) but she didn't do so she was clearly a Code
i translated the journal and it basically said this
"for you did this to me, just want a possible life"
At first the for you did part translated to "why did you do this to me?"
So in conclusion, the book says
"Why did you do this to me? I just wanted a possible life."
The code is alive.
The code pretending to be Juanaflippa, can now be said with a 50/50 chance to not be some melovalant plan by the code, but one of the codes deflecting from killing the eggs, and just getting love.

I love how the Qlobal Transcription translates "bouffon" as "jester". While technically true in a specific context (medieval history), it is way more likely to use it as an insult that would mean "clown", "buffoon", or "imbecile" (maybe "bozo" as well, as Fit likes to say). So, when Tazercraft says "Va chier, bouffon!", it means "F*ck off, you clown!"
The "Villageoise" Etoiles was talking about at 3:40 is a wine brand whose reputation is not the best.
At 9:32, Etoiles laughs because he hears Aypierre (who sneaked in with an invisibility potion to see the fight) play the music "Guerrier" by Doigby, a rap song about not giving up and achieving one's dreams, but which has been memed a bit. Btw, Aypierre also played it to his slav- I mean his student villagers generously hosted in his basement.
Also, Etoiles is now serious enough with the fight that he doesn't even brag in the chat! That's telling of the difficulty this fight represented for him. I wonder who his opponent was. Etoiles even noticed how well they were playing and suspected they used another admin.

A comprovação tá na parte do "juste?" naquele livro, que eu pensei que era um pergunta sobre uma luta ou vida justa. Coisa que é, na verdade, parecido com "just" (em Inglês) que é "só" ("Eu *só* quero uma vida pacífica...") e isso mostra como os dois idiomas são bem próximos, como se fossem irmãos.

However you can defined tell that he's well versed in the mater just by seeing how well he manages his healing or by taking one glance at how he lays out his inventory

The way I understood it, he was sure it wasn't Pomme really quickly (basically since she came out of the cage to fight him), but it seemed like he couldn't do any damage to her/it. But I guess it's hard to get to the same conclusion if french isn't your first language.
if the qsmp wanted to be extraordinarily cruel, they could have taken away her signs and inventory with only a sword to fight, and forced Etoiles to kill his daughter(or at least that's what I took from it) Etoiles knew this which is why he hesitated to kill her so much, without a means of communication that could have very well have been Pomme. He could have actually killed his daughter bc he couldnt ask anyone to ttt or check on Pomme in chat during the fight. I think it'd be a good way to kill an egg tbh. All they have to do is take away their signs and items and make them fight their parents, their parents would assume they're codes and kill them, then just see the parents find out they killed their own eggs when their beds were empty for the rest of the day and the update account later confirms it. Too bad viewers would shit their pants and scream on Twitter if that happened, but it would add a whole new layer of darkness to the lore, have the codes be taken more seriously and I'd love to see how players would try to combat it. There's 7 eggs alive to love, what's 1 less?
@@dualtly2311 I disagree, because it has to make sense. While it seems that the Codes have SOME psychic power over the eggs (hypnosis with the weird butterflies, keeping Pomme in a state of restless nightmare during that fight according to her journal from the next day), they've never fully warped their perception of reality. Such a power would be the only way to explain why an egg would default to fighting their parents instead of doing nothing, or running away or even in this case fighting the code with them. It would also make the Code too OP as there is no real way to counter that kind of mind control.
It is also rewarding for the players to see the secret code system work. Like, facing a problem, they got an idea, put it in practice, and it paid off! The point is to have them find ways to fight back, not tune up the cruelty for drama only.

Well, Pomme has described in a book how traumatised and scared her withdrawn death from the Code made her feel like. Naturally, q!Etoiles, as her adoptive father in RP, does not want to risk her reliving this, especially by his hand.
Pomme also feels a responsibility to her siblings. She's been told from the very beginning that it would make her the prime target. Some would want to get it over with, to be on the same field as everyone else as you said. Not Pomme. She decided to get stronger, more prepared, so much so that she hasn't lost even a single totem ONCE since she was last attacked by the Code. Why you ask? Well, to her, as long as she's the target, her siblings are safer. So she shoulders the weight of that responsibility.

Dang the technique in this was insanneee :o I only started watching minecraft with QSMP content so this was a whole new world. May I ask why Etoiles spams blocks when he's fighting?
In Minecraft PVP, it allows the ability to gain either higher advantage and use arrows or as we see here it's to block off the opponents approach. Forcing them to go around or through. Allowing distance to be created.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, on any accounts.
In pvp they can be used a number of ways to help you:
1 to create distance, if you spam blocks and place them down before you land you essentially help position yourself on a elevated level and help you get out a sketchy situation with minimal ways for the people behind you to hit you accurately
2 to block enemies, if you place blocks in front of you in a battle, it protects you from direct attacks
3 adding to that, it also forces enemies to go around and waste their time and give Etoiles breathing room
4 to flank, the blocks allows Etoiles here to separate the two enemies and focus on only one of them so he doesn't have to manage attacks from two sides. Divide and conquer as the adage goes.
5 to slow them down, basically if they're chasing you and you're placing blocks down, it’s very annoying for them ending up hitting a wall essentially
That's roughly what I've seen Etoiles use it during the battle, it's crazy to knowing what's best for the situation to use but damn he did it so cleanly 👀

@@pphc_ Yeah, when he knew he had time to prepare, he geared his arsenal towards debuffing the Code as much as possible, especially from the effects of the enchanted apples. Dude came in prepared, which to be honest probably saved him given the 6 hearts per hit.

Yeah, It's cool to see Etoiles destroying the codes. But I hope someday the codes actually win against him to make things more interesting.
This warrior for/ defender of the people storyline we have with him is plenty interesting. The codes still strike fear in all the island but to different degrees to all the residents. Nowadays since they're no longer attacking the eggs we're unlocking more information about them and their origins.
@@ImNovaRayz yes, but can you see the great impact that we will get if Etoiles loses? It will be a twist of the table, something in the same scale as All Might last fight in Boku no Hero.
@@ImNovaRayz also I'm not saying that the story in general is not interesting. I'm loving the mystery and investigation side. But since the last egg's death, the players are too op in the combat side of things, is like seeing a arc where the heroes allways wins. In some point of the story the villains have to win again so we can have a greater climax than with one were the heroes never loses again.
@@samuelleie I think that way of thinking and storyline is way too simple, with how the lore or plot of this island is being handled, it is more likely and more effective to subvert our expectations with something else. A loss from the code will accomplish very little in my opinion. And out of story, the residents are undergeared, in both armor and weaponry, the only reason Etoiles proves to be so successful is due to a skillgap and maybe, just maybe for the sake of plot, but we don't know what is planned behind the scenes.
This is all about having a balanced fight. Etoiles has said multiple times that if the Code wanted him dead for lore, the admins have the means to make it happen easily. However, they want to give him a fair fight, and honestly this was it. Up until near the very end, we were all at the edge of our seats. Much like q!Etoiles, we knew that one mistake, one second of inattention and it would be over. If he lost, the Code would have earned that victory fair and square, and that's the beauty of his lore right now.

Sure mate you're so not into minecraft that you dont know that the further away you are from the splash the least you get healed thats why he heals himself only by retreating. So he gets most of the heal when the code gets few or no heal. Code hits like a truck you cant face tank him like a donkey.
And to be fair he doesn't have other options to have he's hearts back, golden apples are to slow so he can only use splash health potions even if it heal a bit the code. But if I have eyes u can see he retreat when he use the potions.
The code has a health bar on the top of the screen so it doesnt matter if he heals him because on the top of the screen it doesnt heal him
Not a big fan of codes becoming just punching-balls for Etoiles and doing nothing else. I hope they will be more important soon because I loved the fear they induced in the parents. Now its just whatever.
I guess its nice of the admins to give Etoiles PVP fights.
But they had to do something like this because with the armor becoming so strong and the eggs being practically invincible with the totems and the pearl chambers they couldn't really kill eggs anymore
They send a message to Etoiles after the fight saying "protect the people", so i hope the code will start being a real menace for the island again soon
they are still a menace or most of the people on the island. i'm pretty sure those fight agaisnt etoile is to create a "protector" to defend the other people against code attack.
