I love that you make your cake from scratch 🍰 My great grand mother used to make from scratch cake. She called it sweet bread. She lived beside my grand parents (her son and daughter in law) when ever she knew I was staying for a weekend visit, she would call out there and say, “I made some sweet bread if you want to come out here.” I’d be over there in a flash, and she would have a glass of milk ready on the table. It was always the same glass. Wow, as I’m typing, memories are flooding back. My daughter is having a sleepover tonight.. maybe we’ll bake this tomorrow. 🌸 Thank you, Jennifer !🎀
Jennifer, One of the things I so appreciate about you is the beautiful music you have going while you work. My Mother did this from the time we were babies and throughout her entire life. She was a beautiful, lovely Christian Mother. As I'm typing this the tears are flowing because I would give anything to have her back. She died four years ago and I'll never be the same. I still can't find the strength to donate her clothes because I feel like having things that were hers somehow makes her less far away. I still can't believe she's gone. I'm 55 yeats old and most days I just want to have her back. She was the ultimate church lady in the most positive way. While boxing up her belongings, I found many poems, prayers and songs that she had written and I'm trying to make a journal from them. I have most of her CDs which are instrumental hymns of faith and when I have a day off I sometimes light candles and listen to them. I guess I'm just blathering on, but I think my Mother's gentle ways of making our home safe and cozy were among the greatist of her gifts.
I lived in the Black Forest in Southern Germany for a year when hubby was in the Army. We couldn't live on base because he didn't have any rank. It was very isolated. A very quiet and solitude surrounding year. I didn't have a car, TV, radio, phone or computer. As a 19 year old I had to learn to live a very simple, spartan life. It was lonely except when hubby came home. But it was life changing. I am perfectly content being alone. Hubby says it made me anti-social. LOL he's probably right. He's all I need to be happy.
I absolutely adore this gem series. It’s so beautifully done, congratulations!!! Thank you Jennifer for your dedication. Every single vid is a treasure. I wish you and everyone here a beautiful weekend 💖🌷
I'm a happy new subscriber here and am so in love with this channel, it's exactly how I emulate to live my days as a homemaker, a role I take such great joy and fulfillment in. I am loving all your videos, they are SO inspiring to me. Thank you for this quality work you invest in these, it's 100 percent appreciated! :)
I love this gem series! I received Changing of the Guards for Christmas and it's one of my favorite Londontown reds. A few years ago I made a Black Forest cake using the method you did, and it made the perfect dessert for Christmas day lunch. This was a lovely, cozy video, perfect for this chilly, grey day. ❤️
Everything is simply so beautiful. I cleared my closet and had my daughter do the same in preparation for our spring wardrobe. Now I want to make a cake ha, but instead we’ll finish our school work and hopefully there’s enough sunshine to clean our patio furniture. Also, added red tulips to my shopping list for tomorrow ❤ Have a blessed day!
Jennifer, this video is just beautiful. Just to let you know that I appreciate all the work that goes into these great videos. It is a pleasure to just watch you moving around in such an elegant and calm way. You make everything look so easy.
Maybe a weird compliment, but I love how pretty yellow fruits look in this crystal-like bowl at 4:15 (there is something about the mix of crystal and yellow that is so fresh looking yet very refined) 😍
This video must have been tailor made for me! I adore the gemstone series you are doing, then you added a manicure and a recipe for my favorite soup! Our local restaurant took their Cioppino off the menu and I thought it would be too intimidating to try and make it myself, but this recipe seems completely doable. So thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks Jennifer for all the elegance and class you put into your videos. As a busy new wife that enjoys trying new recipes in the little free time between working as a vet tech, going back to school part time, it is so nice and relaxing to watch one of your videos. I also am looking forward to the sapphire gemstone video you'll come up with.
My dad’s favorite cake. I am inspired to bake one for him. What a lovely video. A treat in every way. Thank you Jennifer for always providing inspiration at just the right pace.
Hello Jennifer... I love the story around the stone. And the pops of red seem so simple yet so captivating when you show them. ❤️ Thank you for another beautiful video ❤️
@@TheDailyConnoisseur Thank you for working so hard to create such excellent content! Your videos and your person are a true breath of fresh air and a beautiful way that the Holy Spirit helps me focus on "whatsoever things are pure... excellent...of good report", etc.! God bless you and your family! 🤗💐
I love your videos, they are so inspiring! That cake was gorgeous, so I decided to make it today. It was delicious and beautiful! Thank you for making such great content.
I love this series 🥰 As a Black Forest Girl I would call your cake a Cherry Chocolate cake, because everything is very different from a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte 😉 I guess no matter what you call it, it tastes delicious ❤️
Dearest Jennifer, I absolutely adore your Gemstone Homemaking Series. It's inspiring, and wonderfully romantic in a very private way that infused me with joy. Thank you so much. ❤
Good Morning, Jennifer! Oh, I loved this so much!! The recipes, the tulips, your nails...love!! Thank you so much for sharing!! My son's favorite color is red and he is also a July baby, so I'm delighted I can share that his (your) birthstone is the most precious! (Not unlike him and you!) See you tomorrow! WIth love, Kellie
This is such an unique series and I adore it! Also, can you make an entire video on tying scarves? Haha. I wear a silk scarf or pashmina scarf nearly every day and I was fascinated to see how you folded and tied yours! I love red. I do not own too much red, and so I recently thrifted 2 red bohemian blouses - very peasant/ boho and I cannot wait to wear them with a skirt and add a dash of passion and warmth to my wardrobe!
I've been making a similar cake for years, and it is divine! I add vanilla and sugar into the whipped cream. Normally I use regular cocoa powder in the recipe, but I've experimented using dark cocoa powder, and that works great, too. What an excellent choice for the ruby video. 😊
Such a beautiful video! I love all the information and stories you share. My children also enjoyed watching with me. At the end, my son asked, "Do you? love Jennifer?" 😂 Why yes, I do!
My children and I LOVED watching this video! We were all smacking our lips watching the chocolate cherry cake. Red is my favorite color and your gem theme is genius!!
Lovely video Jennifer. This is a creative idea for a series. I’m waiting for sapphire which is my birthstone 😊 Thanks also for answering my new mom question in the Chic Society, I appreciate your advice! Have a Ruby day ❤💃🏻👠🍷
Red is my favorite color! I absolutely love you in the striped Breton top with the khaki skirt. The fitted on top with the flared skirt is my favorite silhouette and works perfectly on you. Alicia ❤
Red is my favourite colour although I'm an August lady! I wear a lot of red in my wardrobe although I no longer wear make-up or nail polish of any kind. My favourite wardrobe staple is red shoes. I have several pairs in differing styles and shades of red, so I guess you could say that they have become a sort of neutral, except for the very fanciest pair.
This kindred July girl ❤❤❤❤ this video! Naturally, rubies are my favorite, as well & I always love a pop of red in all things. I seem to recall you donning a beautiful deep red silk dress a few years back (and, remember it being stunning on you! 😊)
The gemstone series is so clever and unique! I love it! I’ve been anxiously awaiting ruby as it’s my birthstone too! Your take on it was beyond my expectations! Thank you Jennifer! ❤️❌⭕️
Hi Jennifer, So much beautiful red inspiration today❣️The red tulips really so brighten the piano room; do you have a link for your fabulous chinoiserie lamp? Keeping my eyes open for a couple more to add to our home. Thank you, Julie 🌷
Love this ruby video. Ruby is my birthstone, too! What is the name and pattern of that beautiful teapot and teacup/saucer you poured the Earl Grey tea into?
Beautiful video❤❤❤. Would you mind telling me what enchanting music is playing in the intro of the video✨🤩✨, please. And the music from the part when you paint your nails.🤩 Absolutely love your books and RUclips channel!🥰💐

I loved the video with the ruby theme. It was inspiring to watch.
This is so beautiful, I love this gemstone series!!! Tourmaline might be a good one to focus on the color pink. Or citrine, baking with lemons 🍋!
I love this series!

Rhodocroisite is a pretty deep pink💓💓
Where can I find the British duvet?
Dorothy's slippers were silver in the book. Just a little trivia.
My name is Lindsey Ruby. Love this video.❤️

Are the soaps from bend soap co still your go to brand? Or do you not use them anymore?
Yes, I still use and love Bend Soap ✨
I loved this today. I am allergic to clams, so need to make some substitutions for the soup. Any suggestions?
Just omit them
Use chicken broth for clam juice and cooked chicken instead of clams.
Oh, I love how you pronounced Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte 🥰
Knock, knock! "Who's there?" Me. "Oh, come in! Join me for tea!" Thank you!❤
I love red nails and lipstick. It looks great on brunettes such as yourself (and me). Also a red stripe top remonds me of Paris😍
I was hoping you would do rubies next, it's my birth stone to ❤️
What is the name of your blue and white dishes?
