I am so grateful to have found your channel. This last year has just put me over the edge with the pajama pant culture and bigger than life self centered rudeness. For a year now I have been on a mission to live my life as chic as I possibly can and to be overly kind to those whose paths I cross. What I love about you is your genuine calmness and your monthly assignments. I even ordered the book The Secret Garden to read (I have never read it). The past two days I have filled my home with delightful pieces of Luigi Boccherini and I have been studying him every night. The assignment on the painting artist, kept my attention for hours and I am looking forward into diving into more details about him and his artwork. I even pulled out some heirloom china and had a cup of tea yesterday. I also pulled down my stemmed glass wine glasses from the top shelf of my cabinet and put away the tacky acrylic stemless wine glasses, I instantly felt more chic. I love your comment and agree with you! The pajama pants culture is too real, and I am guilty of wearing yoga pants/workout clothes all the time. These videos help me so much to remind me the importance of trying to be more put together. It was recently I went to buy groceries and I could feel eyes of elderly couples on me, and I felt ashamed of my messy bun and yoga pants. I immediately thought, "Wow, I've gotta do better!" 😅😂 I love that you got The Secret Garden. I have been reading the Little House on the Prairie books which has been very fun and enriching and humbling. 🥰

I turned 30 this year and I am determined to make some positive changes in my routines and habits. It is HARD for someone like me. 😂 I admit that I have a long way to go; I'm guilty for the yoga pants, mis-matching pajamas, messy bun hair, and fall to the conveniences of ordering food to be dropped off at my door far too often than I should. I've been following this channel for some time and am realizing - after becoming a parent last year, and in turning 30 - that I NEED to clean up my act. 😅 Some little things I've been doing lately that these videos have inspired me to do are: ~ Go through my wardrobe (still working on it!) ~ Buy linen napkins and a tablecloth (This helps motivate me to cook more and to invite my husband and baby to the table. It's SO much more pleasant to sit at now!) ~ Buy fresh flowers once in a while ~ Read! Wow, I forgot how fun and enriching reading can be! ~ Listen to classical music (I am a violinist but haven't played for some time... This inspires me to get back into that rewarding hobby!) I love the idea of cleaning by candlelight. How lovely! I am usually a clean-as-you-go kind of person, but cleaning by candlelight seems relaxing and an opportinity to reflect on the day and what I am grateful for, and I'm excited to give it a shot!🕯 Thank you for sharing your light in this overwhelmingly weird world, Jennifer! 💛 I am loving being a new mother and am embracing staying at home after having been in the military, and I'm so glad to have videos like yours to encourage me to stay polished and to preserve our dignity in a world where "wine mom culture" and messy buns seems so prevelant. 😅
Not only do I love these videos, but my 10 year old also loves them so I always have to wait to watch them with her. Thank you for offering a positive homemaking voice for both of us as I try and get life back on track (after baby #6 I’m a wee bit exhausted).

I just had to share that I had your video playing while I was folding laundry and my 4yo and 5yo walked in while you were preparing the shrimp pasta. They were mesmerized watching the process and then when you plated it my older son said, “Whoa! ..... I can't begin to say how much these inspire me - as I'm sure it does so many ,as well- because it reminds me that I need not stop embracing what all these things bring to one's Life. When I was in my twenties living on my own I always use cloth napkins, I always had a tablecloth on my round table with a flower bouquet centerpiece and candles... I used my nice dishes and crystal a lot. Even " just for myself ". I suppose one could say that " I lived elegantly " seeing that it was the early and mid 80's. I enjoyed all the small pleasures that bring charm and purpose to everyday Life.... as I'm older, living alone, it's nice to be reminded that those things still matter, especially in a " throw away " society as it has grown to be. I have been obsessing recently over lemon pound cake with fresh (frozen) blueberries (I picked them myself and froze them last year), and sugar-free whipped cream. Your combination looks beautiful and sounds delicious! I have been slicing my pound cake into individual servings and freezing those too. Makes it so much easier to assemble one serving at a time for a quick tea-time treat. :-)

Hi Jennifer - I have the same juice squeezer, but I cut the ends off the lemon to make it easier to squeeze.
I got rid of mine as it was too hard on my hands. I prefer the old fashioned juicer.

I have been obsessing recently over lemon pound cake with fresh (frozen) blueberries (I picked them myself and froze them last year), and sugar-free whipped cream. Your combination looks beautiful and sounds delicious! I have been slicing my pound cake into individual servings and freezing those too. Makes it so much easier to assemble one serving at a time for a quick tea-time treat. :-)
