Once again you review lenses I own haha…I have wanted to love this lens…it’s competent. On the D850, on sunny days at F5.6 or F8 I was underwhelmed. Not awful, just felt like it couldn’t match the high megapixels of the D850. On the other hand, on a DX crop body including my old CCD D60 or CMOS D300 it has a pleasing rendering. While not a traditional portrait field of view on DX, shot wide open provides lovely results. Sharp, good contrast, etc. I suspect 36 megapixels this lens is good enough, but its sweet spot is closer to 12 mpx (maybe 24 mpx)…anything more reveals the optical inequities of what is otherwise a good lens and an interesting focal length. Cheers!
@@JaredTremper I bought this lens to use on my D810 for people pictures and was always pleased with the results. I especially like the fact that it’s imaged stabilized. Thanks for watching.
I am not a fan of 50mm lenses. I like a little extra width and this lens and my 35mm work for me. I have a D850 but I like using my older D3 and D4 and this lens pairs well with those.

I also have a D200 and D300 and this lens is spectacular on those.

@@edc5338 I like the little bit wider lens also. The 45 and 35. Thanks for watching.
