Question: Once a coke battery (one single cell) is pushed, how do you ignite the new fresh charge of coal? Is the residual heat in the battery sufficient?
The battery's are constantly heated, without heat the brick walls of the oven would literally crumble, idk about this plant but most American plants run off of gas, which is gotten from the coke itself. When coal is heated it immediately starts putting off gasses. When it's pushed you gotta shut the dampers off from the main and push it. The gasses from the oven are made into usable gasses and my plant take the gasses from the oven and uses it to heat it and other plants down the river. It's a big + for them because it'll keep the costs lowe and produce the same quality as other plants
