I found that in parallel the signal to noise increases and clips my meters. In series I can just adjust the mix values and increase the actual gain amps blocks volume. Both have their place it’s just a matter of preference and need.

Fascinating! What FX are you running in parallel (& how) that it would do so?
(Closest I’ve come to that is when using a Chorus, so I have the CH signal at -3dB & it’s a transparent transition between in/out).
When I’m running things parallel: mix 100%, input gain or level to control how much FX, & make sure the bypass mode is set to a mute mode. In essence: parallel vs. series, the roles of Mix & Level switch.
I’ve never experienced what you’ve described, so I’m curious to know where the problems are arising for you & potentially fixing that for future presets you have!

Hi buddy hope all is well so why two outs im assuming for FOH and the second for your amp?
    Thnx Great videos

Thank you, John! All is well going into the New Year, & I wish the same for you!
Exactly right! I use Output 1 to send to FoH, then Output 2 goes to my FRFR on stage (just my guitar/bass goes into that). That way, I have independent volume control & can keep the sound crew happy with consistent volume/sound when adjusting my own monitors.
I should probably shoot a video on that 🤔 Thanks for your question(s)!

Could you make a video on using the looper with bass drums and guitar? Wanting to make my own practice play alongs. Great channel! Thanks

      Thanks Skip!
Hmm 🤔 So you’d use the Looper in a Fractal device to loop bass, drums, & guitar to create play-a-longs? Unfortunately, the Fractal Looper can’t save loop data within a preset.
You would also need to have a separate input for drum loops to get them into your Looper (Input 2), then switch to tracking bass, rhythm gtr, etc.
Unless I’ve misunderstood you, & you’re looking for a video in ProTools about how to create backing tracks for yourself. That would certainly be doable!
(I think I have a quick 1min video on me doing that for a Steely Dan vamp on my Facebook page)
Let me know & I’ll see what I can do! Certainly something we all crave as players

Also, do you have a website that we can tip you? Please let me know. Thank you.

Oh wow! That’s very generous of you, & I certainly appreciate the sentiment.
I currently don’t have anything like that (save for my personal Venmo/PayPal accounts 😂). However, I will be having preset packs for sale very soon!
I may have to look into that, as it would still be elective for people who feel so inclined…I’m not into the idea of gatekeeping knowledge with big dollar signs, ya know?
Also, once the channel is big enough I’m hoping that RUclips Ad Partners would supplement that sort of thing with ad dollars. We’ll see ^_^

@@guitarguru186 you should add the tip button or the buy a pizza slice etc that others use. I know you've made a lot of very helpful content and I greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to setup a w/d/w setup for frfr but haven't figured out how to get it just right. Thank you for all you do, great channel and content

How’d you know I was a sucker for pizza? 😋
Haha, I really appreciate the sentiments from you all. I’ve never dabbled in such things, so I’m pretty bereft of knowledge on what apps/sites are being used for such things.
      Any suggestions?
(So long as there’s no minimums or “suggested amount” nonsense, I’m willing to give it a go)

How do I record the processor and D.I signals in Reaper at the same time using FM3?

    • @guitarguru186
      @guitarguru186  3 месяца назад +1

      Excellent question, Daniel!
If you're recording with your FM3 attached to USB:
      - Create a stereo track for your processed guitar (FM3 Input 1)
      - Create a mono track for your DI signal (FM3 Input 3)...make sure Input Monitoring is disabled for this. Note that the level of the DI signal will be much, much softer than the processed signal.
Thanks to this reminder, I'll be making a video on this topic for next week (been meaning to for a while). Hope this is helpful!
*If you have further questions, page 34 of the Owners Manual is dedicated to tracking the DI signal via USB & goes more in-depth than I could here.
