The tsuka looks pretty good. Greenish-brown ito wrap is mostly intact, samegawa is browned with age, single mekugi pin and traditional triple cherry blossom menuki. The tsuba is the cut through type, which is very desirable. The brown leather saya cover is authentic, but the stitched seam has been unraveled to fit over that unusual wooden saya. There's the remains of a late-war leather strap latch which wraps around the fuchi, but the strap is broken off. The habaki is too big for the blade, so it may not be original. The tip of the blade has definitely been clipped or broken off and then someone tried to grind a new one. The end of the saya appears to have been sheared off, but I don't think it's the original saya, which were usually wood-lined metal, and that leather cover is made to fit a slimmer metal saya. Many mysteries here. Thanks for sharing!

It looks like the kissaki tip has been ground down, should there be a metal tip on the end of saya? Im not sure why the blade is longer than saya. Looks like a bunch if rust on blade. Check the tang for the smiths signature. The leather seam on saya is not sewn either. Great video Daniel.

Wonder if tang has any markings? (Mei)
