Traveling from Wissembourg to Colmar - France 🇫🇷

- As day four dawned the skies once more were blue. After an early morning stroll around peaceful Wissembourg we drifted slowly south through towns and villages at the foot of the Vosges. Hunspach with its black and white timber framed buildings was our first stop on the road. Soon we enjoying pretty Obernai with its more colourful streets filled with cafes, shops and of course other tourists. The heart of Barr was more relaxed and enjoyable with colourful displays of flowers filling the scene. Our final stop of the day was in Colmar where we had a small apartment booked for three nights. After settling in we were soon enjoying the beautiful streets filled with restaurants and others who, like us, just were enjoying the warmth of this gentle autumn evening.

Thanks once more. It is so difficult to choose which of the hundreds of pretty, scenic villages and locations to pull up at. It is a lovely area to wander. It was fun being on those streets at night. Great to enjoy a meal and a beer and watch all the activity.

Hi Serge and Helene. We really do like spending time here and the region is brilliantly located for us as we love to visit the Austrian Alps. Alsace sits pretty much half way between us and the mountains. It is not just convenient though it is also so beautiful. The colourful villages filled with flowers in summer just invite you to linger. Wonderful atmosphere at night too. Thanks for watching. Have another wonderful week.

Thanks Dawn & Dave. As you know we like road trips. Alsace is just so pretty and with the wooded hills there is the option of wonderful walking too. In a later video we walk through the vineyards between villages. It is just so enjoyable to experience. Hope you are out and about again and you will have more adventures to enjoy. Wissembourg is new to me, certainly looks very nice. I do like the chocolate-box architecture. And Colmar of course is beautiful!
It is a very "pretty" part of the world but still so enjoyable to explore. We like wandering along the foot of the Vosges passing through villages and heading up hill into the forests and searching out old castles and ruins.
Alsac is an extremely nice region, all the towns and villages are worth visiting. You were lucky with the weather

Tourists head for a few towns like Obernai which are then very busy but just down the road Barr, equally pretty, is quiet. The big difference as far as I could see was that Obernai had plenty of coach and car parking.
Well now, that sure is a lovely place. Look at all those flowers...beautiful!! Will be quite some time before we have scenes like that here.
The flowers make all the towns and villages here so great to walk around and they add so much colour. We are now enjoying spring. Some great Tulips in the garden right now. We even managed our first BBQ yesterday. Have a great week.

What a beautiful part of France, look very similar to some of the quaint English villages you get around the countryside.
All of France is quite beautiful and Alsace is one of the best areas of the country to explore.

An absolute stunning area. We plan to visit again this year, although I think we will give Colmar a miss as it was just too busy last year. But what a picture it looks at night!!

I was in Wissembourg a few years ago, it's a really nice small town easily reachable from Heidelberg or Mannheim.
We had an enjoyable night in Wissembourg and it was lovely to walk beside the walls in the morning. This whole region is lovely to explore. Glad you liked it when you visited. Best wishes from the UK.
