Penske is someone who truly cares about his businesses and racing. Living in Indy I remember not long after he bought the speedway he was already making changes and they showed it on the news and in the background you could see him getting his hands dirty pitching right in doing the work as well. Pretty cool
I've met Roger when I cleaned floors at Penske Racing years ago. He is truly a great man as well as the greatest business owner ever. He always knows who is doing what and if it's productive. He places great emphasis on maintaining his properties and keeping appearances to the best. He's a great American!
I saw a story in one of Carl Hungness’s Indianapolis 500 yearbooks from the late 80’s about the time Roger and the Team Penske INDYCAR team of Rick Mears, Danny Sullivan and Al Unser ,Sr. went to a Detroit Diesel factory for an autograph signing and meet and greet with the employees after The Captain bought the company. He immediately put in plans for it to be employee owned. At the signing a woman came up and told him that she had to force her husband to go to work before he bought the company. After he bought it, he was out of bed before her every day and he looked forward to coming to work.
When I think of Motorcar Racing, I think of Roger Penske period. Trans-Am, Can-Am, F1, Indy, Super V8, NASCAR and as he mentions in the interview, he tried motorcycle racing (TT). And the paring of The Captain & Mark Donahue was almost unstoppable. Now his organization owns the holy grail of N. American race tracks, Indianapolis. What a pleasant & thoughtful human being. IMO, there should be a part 2 as I feel you were able to only scratch the surface of the man and his involvement in racing.Oh! The stories he could tell!! Outstanding episode!! PS I sure would like to see ‘the brick’ from the creek. Cheers
He wasn't lyin about the kids learning numbers from race cars....I maintain the same thing, my son learned his colors and numbers from racing....I say that with some pride too!....How do you not respect a man like Roger Penske.
No one more deserving to become the owner and custodian of The Iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Penske will preserve the tradition of Indy. My Dad took me to Indy about the same year Roger was first there, just have to add this...even my Dogs name is Indy.
Great interview. You know that you are on your game when you can interview a person of The Captains stature this well. I think that the show just keeps getting better!!! I love to see Juniors face light up when the person he's interviewing tells him a new story about his Dad that he's never heard before. I'd love to see you interview Lea, Matthew, and Mike so that we can better understand their importance to your teams success.
This has to be the craziest DJD ever, right? You have a billionaire icon in racing/cars & you end up describing wading thru his creek to forage for intact pieces of garbage! THIS SHOW IS PURE GENIUS!!!
Wow. Dale's first Cup win at Bristol in 1979 was in the Monte Carlo that Roger sold to Rod Osterlund. It was the Dave Marcis Cam 2 car. Now we know where the number and font style came from.
I love ur show Dale! This makes me want to go to Indianapolis n look for bricks. Lol good story though. I actually seen Roger Penske today at TMS very nice guy!
Ok a great vlog DaleJr, and Rodger, hay a good idea, and it’s mine Al Kennedy is saying this FIRST, Mr. Penske, and you Dale should go dig up all of the bricks 🧱, and Roger and his team should layer them somewhere in the track concession area or fan area or some museum setting inside the race track somewhere where everyone could see those bricks and see the history of those bricks, or lay them in a secured area where no one could steal them like right down in front of the grandstands where people walk to walk up the isles to see themselves, that would be amazing, thanks DaleJr, I love your channel Dirty Mo, thanks BigAl California.
Robert Penske what a guy!! I have much respect for him he is good for America I know we all love America. Really good for racing as he is Dale Junior he’s good for racing to. There are some other things that are not good for racing but I’ll leave that alone and make this a happy thing. I love this country so I love you guys. I’d like to see a flag hanging in the background NASCAR is all about America . OK on a lighter note Mr. Penske I’ve asked Dale Junior this and I guess he didn’t need my services never got a response. Perhaps you could use a good hand model. I know I’m a little older but I would like to break into the hand modeling field and I could use a break. A little sponsorship you know God bless America you could have my hands holding a flag driving a truck holding one of your little race cars I don’t know keep me in mind Sir. Also Junior I’m still looking for a hand modeling job if you would like to use my face oh that’s another story ha ha Ha. Remember it’s all about America bottom line. I love this country love you guys stay safe God bless can’t wait to get on a motorcycle ride because I’m going crazy.
At Indy, tear the grandstands down the front stretch infield but leave the tower. Move those seats to the back stretch in between turns 2 and 3. Have the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 on Memorial Day weekend. Race on Saturday and Sunday so Monday is available in case of a rain out. Install Lights and have both races end in prime time around 8PM-9PM EDT. Make a Gazillion amount of Dollars with these changes!
Penske with the power move forcing the camera on him when he speaks Innovator even now HHAHAHAHA, pretty fucking maniacal if that's what he did. Genius
We keep talking about the bricks in the creek, and it's killing me because I want to do it but I damn sure know the yellow shirts would escort me out of the track.
a one-on-one would have been a better interview rather than the one-on-one plus a talking head format we saw. it was obvious that all Roger Penske's dialogue was directed at Jr. c'mon Jr, you don't need help interviewing or talking to people. people tune in, to see you and a guest, no one else. if you don't believe me? have the talking head start his own channel and just see how many people subscribe, or even watch. being seen or heard is not the place for him on your show.
Is Penske getting senile? He referred to all the diecast cars with all his current drivers except the #2 car he mentioned Rusty! What about Keselowski? smh
@@RippingItAllSportsCards I figured as much since his contract hasnt been renewed, but still seems like Penske through a sucker punch on purpose lol well with larson gone looks like brad could head to Ganassi racing next year keep the Penske & Ganassi rivalry going outside of Indy

Born & raised Chevrolet all day every day, with mad respect to the Ford Captain always--that's when you know you're an adult! Loved this!

Met Mr. Penske years ago at Richmond at an indy race.. greatest man..gave me 20 min of shooting the bull. Thank you for that
I was at the inaugural race way back when; those cars were fast. I have seen them at Pocono but you could barely focus on them at RIR.
Everytime I watch and video of Roger "The Captain" Penske I gain more respect for the man. 🤩
BEST PENSKE INTERVIEW EVER. You both actually got him to want to have some fun.
My favorite show on RUclips
Mine too!

It's not about the time you have on Earth, it's about what you do with that time.
If anyone can save IndyCar, it's this man. Super happy he's the man at the helm!
Great video. I loved hearing The Captain's passion for bringing a good experience for the fans. Also, love the story about Jr's brick. I want one!
Thank You Dale & Roger great interview Take Care all of you
I grew up and still live in Indiana. When I was smaller I got to eat dinner with Rodger and he was just a super awesome nice guy.
Roger is the man, what a great person.

Dale continue the great legacy doing good work for the human race love it bro.
Indy is the monument to auto racing. Juan Manuel Fangio said that you had to be crazy to run there. That's respect.

Dale and Rodger fishing for bricks that would be a great video!
Why is the image so small ? Can they be made full screen ?

Ernest Hemingway said, “There are only three sports, bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering and all the rest are merely games”.
the dog was wondering why he didn't get to go look for bricks...
And that’s why he’s the captain 👩✈️
I would love to hear the story of Roger calling you to come up and show him the good spot for bricks in the creek.
Where is this creek? Ive been there, where is it?
A+ Show
Me. Penske seems like a cool guy. Hope Brad K stays on his team.
OK,,, The mad rush to the creek when covid is over ! Who's in.lol
I’m really curious - did the captain ever get back to y’all about the bricks in the creek ??
Dale and Mike are going brick fishing with Penske in the future.
Mr Penske, you might want to hurry down to that creek before the hordes of people clamoring for a brick. Dale just started the great brick rush!
Dale's dog scared me gees that was loud

Who? Donald Trump. *gags* Penske is class and professionalism. He knows his people and respects them. Plus, his record at Indy is unrivaled..
You guys have to get your muck boots, some shovels, and film a video with you all and Roger digging for bricks.

Market value for red bricks going up.
now Rodger is going to have to post a guard down by the creek way to go jr. lol
