TWICE is arguably the biggest girl group in Korea, often referred to as "The Nation's Girl Group." They debuted in 2015 with "Like Ooh Ahh," but grew immensely popular with "Cheer Up" (2016), "TT" (2016) and 'Likey" (2017). They are personally my favorite group (our fandom in known as ONCE) and consist of 9 members (5 Koreans: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung; 3 Japanese: Momo, Sana, and Mina; and 1 Taiwanese: Tzuyu). "Fancy" was a slightly different sound for them (more mature/retro), as compared to their past discography (catchy and cuter), but still has their distinct style that made them so popular: it did contain a rap like their previous works. My top 3 title tracks from them are: 1. What is Love?, 2. TT, and 3. Breakthrough (Japanese song)/Yes or Yes/Fancy. It’s hard to choose because they have so many good title tracks and hidden gems in the form of b-sides. They preformed concerts in the US for the first time this summer after having appeared at multiple K-Cons.
As others have mentioned, it's probably best not to try and compare groups (k-pop fans can be wild when you do so lmao), but as a new fan, I understand that having a basis (e.g. BlackPink) to go off of, makes it hard not to do so.

Chaeyoung completely owned Fancy era! She is the one who had short pastel pink hair in Fancy who said "Fancy Ooh!"
I loved Momo in Likey, she did "BB cream and lipstick mamama" and the dance break.
Then I love dahyun in What is Love? She did the first rap with the ads.
Notice that Blackpink's music is lot more for heartbroken people while Twice is just learning what love really is...

"Likey" is one of my favourite tracks by them. It was actually filmed in my city: Vancouver Canada! "What is Love?" is referencing many different movies and even commercials (Like the Princess Diaries, Leon the Professional, La Boum, or Ghost to name a few). "Fancy" was a much more mature concept for them, and it does actually have a rap! Check out the "Fancy dance practice"!
Definitely check out their most popular song which is "TT"! Also some of my own favourite MV's are "Breakthrough" (A Japanese single) and "Like Ooh Ahh" (Their debut), "Dance the Night Away" (A summer hit). as well as their "Move cover stage". They have a rather large number of music videos and comebacks (Since they debuted in 2015 and are a very busy and hardworking group). Their newest mini-album "Fancy You" is very good and very different for the group (As their concepts are generally more cute where their newest EP is a more mature concept). Personal favourite songs by them are "Sunset" and "Young and Wild" written by Twice members! They have a comeback in less than 2 months as well!

Did we not watch the same video? When did she bring up comparing Blackpink to TWICE? Yes she brought up Jennie and Mina look alike but she never compared them (i.e. said one was prettier than the other). And yes she brought up Blackpink but also said that Blackpink was really the only group she knew about (mainly because people told her about them) How is that comparing? If she said Blackpink is way better than TWICE, then yes, she's comparing and stating her opinion, which she is entitled too. But, she never did that so why even bring this up? We should appreciate that she said she really likes TWICE and their songs.

There are groups with male and female members in them, but there's only one that's really well known: KARD. They have really good songs and especially their latest song is a boppp!
if u watch carefully in the second song, there are many scenes which are from well-known movies like cinderella, lalaland and so on. they literally hope to be like that during watching tv XD

FYI, there are three major girl groups in Korea right now:
Twice (JYPE)
Red Velvet (SM)
Blackpink (YG)
They are all talented and worth checking out.
Blackpink receives major international attention through their MV success on RUclips, which its probably why you were confused to believe that Blackpink is more popular.
On the other hand, Twice works super hard, average 3-4 comebacks each years, tops album sales, wins most of the music awards, and it’s considered Korea National Girl Group.

If you want a storyline, Loona is the BEST girl group for that. They have an extensive and deep storyline that runs through all of their music videos. They’re a 12 member girl group who spent 2 years debuting each member as a soloist before the whole group last year.
I definitely recommend:
Group songs (Butterfly, Hi High and Favorite)
Solo songs (Egoist, Eclipse, love cherry motion and New)
Sub unit songs (Sweet crazy love and Sonatine).
Twice's MVs have deep meanings if you're too observant enough. Let me give you a Twice MV that is parallel to an AKB48 MV.
Twice's Like Ooh Ahh MV = AKB48's Beginner (Original) MV (It was censored because it was too brutal. The one you can find in their official yt channel is the censored one. The original one is also available in yt but it was a fan who uploaded it)
AKB48's MVs (especially the old ones) are known for having a clear message that it was easier for a viewer to grasp their intention most of the time but it wasn't the case for Twice's MVs where you need to see each detail to pinpoint what they were trying to say. But they have one thing in common, both of their concepts is called "a bittersweet concept". They were showing you their "smiles" and hid their "tears". Now let's go back to the two parallel MVs I mentioned above. The two MVs showed us two different pictures, one is a happy picture (Twice's Like Ooh Ahh MV) while the other one is a brutal picture (AKB48's Beginner [Original] MV) but they have one goal to shoot. The zombies in Twice's MV is similar to the game controller in AKB48's MV. They're telling us that society's expectation is the cause of losing our individuality that it makes us controlled and zombified but just like what the girls did in the MVs we shouldn't let them. Be our own selves and fight!
Red Velvet is another amazing girl group! they're my favorite girl group. they're, in my opinion, the second-best girl group after twice in terms or chart ranking and album sales.
a really good co-ed group is Kard, they have BOPS and are the most well known co-ed group.
Red velvet is SM entertainment's best girlgroup and i defenetily recommend watching their music videos for "Bad Boy", "Red Flavor", "Russian Roulette", and "Peekaboo"!!!
