Probably a hot take, but I think I would like The Poppy War by N.K. Jemisin more than by R.F.Kuang, because Jemisin tends to be subtler with her themes.
Honestly I would LOVE to see how Brandy Sandy would rewrite Ice Planet Barbarians, not for the romance but I’d want to see him come up with actual worldbuilding reasons to explain why the women need to bang 6 foot tall blue aliens 😂
I’ve chosen to believe there’s something in the air that makes them crazy because who thought this was a good idea?? Pregnant by giant aliens on a planet with no doctors??
Night circus written by RF kuang is a fantastic combo. RF Kuang loves sprinkling real facts and anecdotes into her stories, so we will not only get fun tidbits about the circus but an immersive world-building, and actual competition.
It by Emily Henry is such a cursed combination and I want it because I feel like it would alter something about the fabric of the universe by its mere existence. Also, rip for saying the only worse author for Ice Planet Barbarians would be Murakami and then pulling that combo in round two. Just pretend you drew Jane Austen instead.
@@BookswithEmilyFox Am I the only one who thinks this could be great? A woman goes to work as a servant for an affluent couple. The book is about the difficult relationship between the two women, and the draw she begins to feel for the man. Then the third act twist would be done much more interestingly and subtly... But I think the final twist & the ending would be completely different.
I would love if you did this again but with books you gave like 3 stars and maybe with more hit-and-miss authors because then it's even more interesting if maybe a meh book could become a favourite or a hated book with the right or wrong author Also I wish you lingered longer and speculated more on how the book would be different But really fun video format!
I love the mix and match style of putting books and authors together, there were some very interesting combinations. If you redo this type of video please could you consider adding a section at the end where you choose the combinations e.g. picking “Part of Your World” and picking an author who could either improve on this book or match the level of the book, with the rule that you can’t pick the actual author of that work. It would have been intriguing to see what books and authors you would have matched together, of course keeping it in the style that you can only match them up once - so you would have to be careful with what book or author you are left picking from at the end. Love your videos, can’t wait to see what other fun things you come up with.❤
This video cracked me up. Great idea! Keep them coming! I love the book discussion this concept started. I would read IT by any other author. Maybe your video will give Gillian Flynn something new to write about.
The Poppy War by VE Schwab was an instant yes. Havent read The Poppy War but I have read Addie LaRue! I also will suggest we play this "game" at a bookclub meeting.
Love this idea! Would love it even more if instead of - or in addition to - yes/no, you describe more about how the book/story/characters would be different. I feel like I heard “no” for almost all of them and that there is a really good opportunity to showcase your creativity here 😊
The Night Circus is one of my favorite books of all time, I reread it like 4 times, which is entirely due to its atmosphere and the setting, but I totally agree that the magical duel part of it was underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend it to people based on that haha.
Based on the options you chose for this video I think Ice Planet Barbarians rewritten by N.K. Jemisin would be interesting😂. Also yes to The Night Circus rewritten by R.F. Kuang, that sounds awesome.
IT is one of my favorite books (yes yes I’m a psychopath) and Emily Henry writes romance I actually like. That combo just screams monster smut and I definitely don’t need that mental image!!! 😅😅
Monsieur Alexandre Dumas cannot be replaced by anyone. He reigns supreme. Il était le roi des écrivains. The Housemaid cannot be saved, even by Austen.
And yes, even after what I just said above, I would definitely read A Little Life written by Stephen King. I might feel guilty adding literal supernatural horror on top of what Jude went through, but I'd read it.
The first book I read by Emily Henry was actually a YA sci-fi book. Definitely not the way to start her catalog, it was not good. But I guess if you want to see what she's like outside of romance, then give The Sky Fell on Splendor a try?
In this video, you picked Jane Austen twice - with 'A Little Life' and 'The Housemaid' - but you didn’t pick Stephen King. However, at the end, you mentioned something about Stephen King and 'A Little Life', and I really want to know your opinion on this. This video was fun to watch!!!
I wouldn't read The Night Circus by R.F. Kuang because at least to my knowledge, Erin Morgenstern didn't tweet about not publishing her books in Russia anymore and then quietly delete it and go back to business as usual. It by Emily Henry, on the other hand? Sign me up.
I finally read I who have never known men on your recommendation and I loved it! Same with In the company of witches :D Sorry its not related to the video 😂
I believe I would find IT more enjoyable if it were written by Brandon Sanderson. I also think that "I who have never known man" would be more like wayward pines if it were written by Blake Crouch.
What do you think the ending of I who have never know men would have been like by Brandon Sanderson? I am guessing he would explain the Why of the world but idk enough of him to know what kinda vibes his endings have!
I feel like we’d get less introspection but a very interesting world building. I’m sure it’s find a way to have big answers we didn’t get. They’d be very different but it would be fun!
It would be better if you use chat gpt for this as not every author is familiar to me enough to know the difference. And it would be funn to be able to know exactly what it would be like
What’s your favorite remix?
Frieda McFaden can't do her own books well 😂
Lowkey I’d love a little life by Jane Austen 😅
Probably a hot take, but I think I would like The Poppy War by N.K. Jemisin more than by R.F.Kuang, because Jemisin tends to be subtler with her themes.
I want Book Lovers by Gillian Flynn SO BAD
I kept expecting the sister to have some dark secret anyways, lol
IT by Emily Henry cracked me up🤣
The true ennemies to lovers 🤡
@@BookswithEmilyFox lol, so gross.
Honestly I would LOVE to see how Brandy Sandy would rewrite Ice Planet Barbarians, not for the romance but I’d want to see him come up with actual worldbuilding reasons to explain why the women need to bang 6 foot tall blue aliens 😂

The Count of Monte Cristo written by R F Kuang would be an intriguing combo

Fun idea!! The housemaid + Jane Austen is a ridiculous and completely blasphemous combination lmao
She can keep the title but definitely needs to rewrite everything else 💀
@@BookswithEmilyFox Am I the only one who thinks this could be great? A woman goes to work as a servant for an affluent couple. I would want Stuart Turton to write The Housemaid so I can see how he would turn such a basic domestic thriller into an actual mystery
You going, "Noooo" in disgust over so many of them was so freaking funny.
This was so fun to watch😂 A Little Life by Stephen King sounds like the best combination, but I would definitely not read it
"The best book I'd never read" XD

But really fun video format!
I called the Ice Planat Barbarians one... the second round. I was like... yeah Murakami... XD
@@BooksWithJudy 😆🤣
😂😂
I’m currently reading “I who have never known men” because of your recommendation and really enjoying it! Thank you for the recommendation
What a fun premise for a video! I hope you do this again-and start a trend. 😃

Actually, It by Emily Henry, Hell yeah!
I think that would be the most underrated read. I'd go dor it.
This video cracked me up. Great idea! Keep them coming! I love the book discussion this concept started. I would read IT by any other author. Maybe your video will give Gillian Flynn something new to write about.
I'd love to watch this with more of a "what WOULD it take to read this combo" sort of style.
Fun idea like it Emily! 🍁🎃🎃🎃🖤🍃💛💛🤎🍂👻🍁🖤🖤🎃🎃🍁🍂🤎👻🍃💛💛🖤🖤📚📚📙📚📚📙📙📚📚📚📙📚📚📖📖📖

What a fun video!! Love it
Very cute idea!
Such a fun video 😂😂
need more of this pls x

We're gonna need a yearly video like this 😂
Fun concept! Would be cool if this actually happened. I think RF Kuang would totally be up for anything and would do this.
This is such a fun idea!!
Le Comte de Monte-Cristo was 1243 pages in my Penguin classics edition.
awesome
this format really suits me
This was entertaining! 😆
this video was so much fun lol you know what i miss? when you read the ending of books you DNFed
You should take the slips and instead pair them all up to make the best remixes, having to use all of the slips!
That’s a fun video!
Mistborn by Emily Henry- Vin could fall in love with the Lord Ruler!
Based on the options you chose for this video I think Ice Planet Barbarians rewritten by N.K. Jemisin would be interesting😂. Also yes to The Night Circus rewritten by R.F. Kuang, that sounds awesome.
really liked this video
it wasn't mentioned, but this video kinda got me thinking about the poppy war written by brandon sanderson
This is fun 😂
The ultimate remix for me would be Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell written by Jane Austen.
The Sparrow by Octavia Butler could work....
IT is one of my favorite books (yes yes I’m a psychopath) and Emily Henry writes romance I actually like. That combo just screams monster smut and I definitely don’t need that mental image!!! 😅😅
Becky Chambers for Gone Girl?? HAHA no, love both for VERY different reasons
Monsieur Alexandre Dumas cannot be replaced by anyone. He reigns supreme. Il était le roi des écrivains.
The Housemaid cannot be saved, even by Austen.
Love your videos!
Please, A Little Life rewritten by someone like Becky Chambers, any writer that would let something...anything...nice happen to Jude.
Written by Stephen King would just be too tragic. Enough! Poor Jude 😭
And yes, even after what I just said above, I would definitely read A Little Life written by Stephen King. I might feel guilty adding literal supernatural horror on top of what Jude went through, but I'd read it.
Octavia Butler was robbed haha
I agree though I’d totally read R. F. Kuang night circus!
I don't know actually. Some of those books and authors are in my TBR but haven't read them yet.
❤📚
The poppy war by n k jemisin would be a god tier
The first book I read by Emily Henry was actually a YA sci-fi book. Definitely not the way to start her catalog, it was not good. But I guess if you want to see what she's like outside of romance, then give The Sky Fell on Splendor a try?
Is "gone girl" suriously about "good for her", "female rage"... ?
Yes..... why do u think it's not??
Fun video!
Not gonna lie, I would read A little life by Stephen King just out of curiosity 😅
Oh come on. Octavia Butler could write Part of your world. She's such a good writer you gotta let her branch out 😂
Please we’d find out the dude is an alien and they’re related or something 😂💀
In this video, you picked Jane Austen twice - with 'A Little Life' and 'The Housemaid' - but you didn’t pick Stephen King. However, at the end, you mentioned something about Stephen King and 'A Little Life', and I really want to know your opinion on this.
This video was fun to watch!!!
Jimenez would have an H sound in place of a J sound
Great fomat:D honestly I`d try a little life by Stephen KingXD
I want Pride and Prejudice written by Becky Chambers.
Stephen King knows how to YAP, you are 100% right hahahaha.
I wouldn't read The Night Circus by R.F. Kuang because at least to my knowledge, Erin Morgenstern didn't tweet about not publishing her books in Russia anymore and then quietly delete it and go back to business as usual. It by Emily Henry, on the other hand? Sign me up.
How could you not include Fonda Lee? 😢
I finally read I who have never known men on your recommendation and I loved it! Same with In the company of witches :D Sorry its not related to the video 😂
That’s awesome!!
From the title of this video, I thought you were going to be comparing books with similar premises
Ooooooooh interesting
best!!!
I believe I would find IT more enjoyable if it were written by Brandon Sanderson.
I also think that "I who have never known man" would be more like wayward pines if it were written by Blake Crouch.
Stephen king >>>>>>> brandon shitderson
@@Rash23215 No, thank you. I really don't like his books. They are generic and grossly overrated
Would you read the 7 1/2 lives of Evelyn HardCastle if written by Stephen King?
My Brilliant Friend...Abducted by Benevolent Aliens
What do you think the ending of I who have never know men would have been like by Brandon Sanderson? I am guessing he would explain the Why of the world but idk enough of him to know what kinda vibes his endings have!

I would gift Ice Planet Barbarians by Haruki Murakami to my worst enemy...
I have nightmares just imagining the content... long creepy descriptions of nipples... noooo
i couldn't digest a little life as it is so i would totally read it if it was written by jane austen lol
LMAO!!!!
It would be better if you use chat gpt for this as not every author is familiar to me enough to know the difference. And it would be funn to be able to know exactly what it would be like
