It has come up that I didn't mention argon flow rates thanks everyone for letting me know. I pretty much always weld at 15 CFH of argon for mild steel, and I left it at 15 when I switched cups. I generally always do 8-10 second post flow (unless my tungsten is turning blue then you need more post flow), and my machine doesn't have pre-flow. Thanks for watching! Thanks for the questions

You can make a gas lenses from sink aerators $.15 a pop you are all welcome. Though if you control the air currents in the area you are working you can turn the gas down a bit and save some $$$ over time. Also found that controlling ambient air conditions the lenses become unnecessary. But they help when you are starting out.

Tip: leave your torch and rod over the spot you’ve just finished close & don’t wave it around!

Just curious what your flow rates were? Thanks for the video! And how much more Argon was expended using the lenses vs regular cups?

I pretty much always weld at 15 CFH, and left it at 15 when I switched cups. I generally always do 8-10 second post flow, and my machine doesn't have pre-flow. I'm not sure there was a huge change in the gas expansion, sorry if that's not a useful answer. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!

@@LightaFire_studio Thanks! Was just curious. I run at 15 pretty much all the time also.

When you talk about settings, you need to know the gas flow rate too.

Thanks for reminder. I pretty much always weld at 15 CFH and my post flow generally stays at 8-10 seconds. My machine doesn't have pre-flow. Thanks fir watching.
