- Artisan Cutlery developed their own proprietary steel called AR-RPM9 to be a budget option that differs from other companies. With similar properties to such budget stainless steels as VG10, 440C, 14C28n, and even D2 Tool steel, is this first steel offering from Artisan cutlery "BUDGET"? In this video we look at the Arroyo designed by Dirk Pinkerton and the Sea Snake by Michael Emler...two great offerings for EDC utility driven tasks...two blades I have come to greatly enjoy!!!

We're really glad to see that you liked the knives so much! Fantastic review as always, thank you so much!
Always impressed at Artisan quality! Mixed with great designers it's a winning combination!
Very cool think I like the sea snake the most. Easy to sharpen and useful design very sexy.
I really like this steel...it's a great all around middle ground type of steel.
Been using the AR-RPM9 for awhile now.
We take down a lot of boxes. A 40ft shipping container of boxes actually. It's been working well. At the Artisans prices and quality it's bloody well worth it!
Steel snobs will want "super steel" but I use my knives and super expensive steel is actually not practical for hard users.
Need to get a 3.5" drop point hollow grind though in this steel.
I think the AR-RPM9 is fantastic...it's been great!
I prefer the SEa Snake neck knife but both are very high quality.
good review.
You know me...I'm a fixed blade type of guy too! But both sweet. And if you don't have a Dirk Pinkerton design you should.
If a knife’s edge last two or three months of edc use that good enough for me
I’m glad you like the sea snake... I was worried because it’s not anywhere as robust as the stonefish you torture tested
Haha... the stonefish loved the hard use attention! The sea snake has made a great companion blade for sure!
