    Happy for Pao and Tin!
I remember may nagtanong sa akin before moving to Canada if kakayanin daw ba nila dito (Victoria), knowing na malaki tax and isa sa pinaka mataas ang cost of living. Whether you think you can or can't, you are right. It's all in the mindset. I'm glad that they took it as a challenge and like this couple you featured, they're also doing well.
Sa mga nagdadalawang-isip to move to Canada dahil comfortable na ang buhay sa Pinas, just remember what it took to get you to that kind of level (assuming that you did it on your own) --- you took risks, a good amount of grit and faith, in God, in your self and in your partner. You get what you deserve. If dito i-apply yun, you will benefit from the quality of life that Canada has to offer.

Canada has good healthcare assistance - we don’t pay our doctors here ; yes taxes are high but the government gives benefits - they assist the Seniors here - GIS / OAS - retirement here has more benefits ‘ ! Canada has good discipline here - environment, traffic , waste management, foods are better in farm harvests - fresh & real nutritious , our prescribed meds are free ! I like how they respect other cultures , as Canada is diverse in nature ! Canadians are non discriminatory! They respect other races ! I love Canada and I am proud to be a Canadian - Filipino !

Canadians, typically, would not discuss their income / salary openly with other people. It's one of the things they would rather keep privately. Pero iba ang mga pinoy they love talking about it especially kung "malaki ang sweldo". I'd guess they are just being proud of they have achieved. Interesting...

Almost 32% tax tlga satin. Hindi lng salary, pati profit sharing, incentive 32%. Tapos un General Mgr, mga VP, CEO 32% din. Kaya ang talo un nsa middle- the working class. Dito sa Canada, fair enough, the higher ur salary the higher ur taxes are.
And at least dito you can feel that the system of the govt is working. Not perfect but working!

The Philippine western mentality that conditions in life is better in the western world no matter what - is prevalent. Emigration is in the Filipino blood. Maybe it’s not all about money. Maybe it’s about being in Northern America, experiencing living and working here, (US /Canada) that matters. I don’t think it’s a bad thing. My two cents.

Health care system is based on the triage system. Kung ano yung ginagamit in time of war, wherein patients are prioritized based on urgency. I don't see any wrong with that. It's just that people have a sense of entitlement because we are all paying taxes. People have all the right to ask the question, why are the worst cases being prioritized and not them. I get that. Nonetheless, I don't really mind this system.
